From a battle perspective, I'd agree that inertia is a little repetitive. Not saying he is generally repetitive, just in the world of battles. I'd say he is more of an entertainer than a competitor. He is someone you're more likely to listen to in private. I know I'm gonna listen to his compilation on repeat when that finally comes out. As for beatboxers like colaps or alem, they are beatboxers I'd more enjoy in battles. Although I will listen to colaps' compilation up and down as well lol.
In beatbox we call inertia a beatboxer for the people, everyone can enjoy and understand what he is doing, but collapse it's a beatboxer for beatboxers, his complexity and all the sounds that he used are easier to understand if u do beatbox.
**SPOILER ALERT** (especially for cliff) Inertia's compilation may not come out since he placed 4th, its probably the top 3 only (Colaps, River, Footboxg)
Colaps' second round is absolutely insane! He's improved so much since 2019 that his old drops are now just fillers. Inertia's second round had a good shock factor, but it just felt random with no real structure.
12:10 the hand signal means 'biting' which is basically them calling you out for copying someone else's routine, in this case Colaps was saying King Inertia was copying his routine (it did sound very Colaps like) but he added something different to it just after he said "Wait a minute"
@@xRaPToRv You can't counter your opponent with a technique they themselves taught you how to do lol. Colaps said he taught Inertia that in 2019, and Inertia started using it in his routines. Honestly what was he thinking.
A little backstory on this battle, Colaps has said or blurted out comments to other beatboxers that Inertia copied some of the sounds he currently has. A couple of years ago before the 2019 American Beatbox Championships Colaps showed him a couple of new sounds that he was practicing for the GBB and that Inertia showed them before at the American Championships but he never gave Colaps credit for that. That's why this battle is more personal between the two and also why Colaps makes the signs that Inertia copied the sounds he makes in his second Inertia routine.
For me it’s a clean clear win for Colaps ! Both artists did amazing, but Colaps was cleaner and his rounds were structured perfectly giving high energy at the beginning and the end. KI did insane sounds, but he wasn’t clean enough to close the gap with Colaps ! None the less, this is one of the best beatbox battle
💪 King Mustache. Colaps’ 2nd round is my favorite round in the entire event. Staying on tempo is one of Colaps’ greatest strengths. My favorite battle is Rouge Wave 🌊🌊🌊🌊 such a special battle
12:53 And that's about all lol Coz there was almost no structure/composition, just a bunch of flashy techniques strung together. And half the sound textures weren't pleasing to my ear For me, Inertia won the first round by a bit and Colaps won the second by a landslide
This is a battle I anticipated, and I've had Colaps at number 1 for a bit. His sounds are wild! KI is great, bass like no other, but he needs to spice things up, imo, and I know close to nothing...
he will, dude has been training since gbb and has already started to improve:) his orodreth and beatbox international shoutouts are from after gbb and you can already see a lot more variation
In my uneducated beat box ears, it seems that Inertia makes the dopest beats, but it’s not complicated enough to win, the ones I see moving on usually do multiple layers, but aren’t really a beat to me, more like super dope noises.
I think the main reason inertia didn’t go as far into the competition comes down to variation , after a while his beats became kind of bland an predictable and you can imagine as judges sitting there listening to all of inertia’s routines when they’re so similar it just isn’t as enjoyable. Inertia is a GOAT but colaps just had a more diverse structure and sound set imo
Inertia is the best at his style, every sound he has is perfectly defined but colaps shocked everyone this gbb with his new techniques and the power of his sounds and that's that's why I believe he won
The issue with technical beats is that it's extremely hard to make them sound good for most people, beatboxers like D-Low and River have really good dynamics between keeping it crazy technical and also melodical and structured
Codfish won GBB with technically simple beats. Just really well structured routines and great execution. Inertia definitely has potential to do the same.
The beginning of inertias first round sounded like In the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight lol am sorry a just couldn't stop laughing at it xx 😂😂😂 xx
To be honest the second round of Inertia was really not all that good to me I mean (not terrible but GBB level wise) his sounds were new to him but you could tell they were not as developped compared to his other sounds and against colapse who is flawless this is very hard. The thing is if you don't beatbox technicality sounds impressive but not as much as bass but once you beatbox you see how difficult the patterns of colapse are.
I agree, Inertia second round was really messy. Structure all over the place, timing and tempo mistakes. New sounds were cool, but they were inconsistent like you said and he lost his bass a couple of times. Still wasn't even that bad of a round, but when it's right after one of the cleanest rounds of the whole competition, it's pretty clear who won.
I am with you 💯 on the battle with helium was the best battle and for me of the whole competition so far. While I try to pull for the Americans and love me some inertia my hand went to helium. Crazy good battle
Yes it has done before by Colaps. But wasnt exactly like how king inertia did in that round. However it still Colaps' technique. So he just made that sign.
You're kinda right on 12:10 (about 9:37), it basically means copying someone and Colaps claimed Inertia copy him, which is justified if you look up the GBB 2018 7 to Smoke battle - there is a winner compilation of Colaps and you will probably find almost the exact same routine there somewhere. Or a lot of other Colaps battles around that time. lol
Colaps showed far more skills, range and versatility IMO, Though I also feel inertia showed more beatboxing skills in this battle than any of the others. But his variety of bass can only take him so far, (not disputing his talent and ability - he is a monster!) But massive props to Colaps! 👊
12:10 It means biting someone else's style or beat, and to make it worse, in this case the person he was biting was colaps 😂. As for your point at 12:30 yes exactly. If you want to be repetitive you have to have some redeeming points to compensate such as structure
I feel King Inertias 1st round was closer to a showcase round, its SUPER pleasing to the ear, but its not a round i see winning him a battle, especially someone as hungry to win as colaps. King is my FAVORITE bbxr at the moment, but i gave this to Colaps.
That sign colaps made during his round is to indicate that Inertia is copying or biting a sound/technique/routine. In this case, the reverse robotic sound is one that Colaps actually showed Inertia years ago and which he was never given credit for. (The symbol for repeating a sound/routine is usually the "peace" sign) Mad respect for both. I still think Helium should have beat inertia 2 battles ago.
King Inertia is a force and he brought a little more variety to this battle even if it was stuff we heard from previous competitions so I respect what he accomplished. Colaps was straight up perfect with no cracks in his rounds but KI made small mistakes in both rounds and a big one, imo, in the first round when his inward bass messed up. I think if KI executed both of his rounds perfectly it would've been a split decision if not a win for him. Great battle and great reaction.
That arm thing colaps did I believe is telling Inertia that he is “biting” or copying a beat from someone. And the beat that he’s copying was originally done by colaps. It is slightly different but it’s pretty similar
The sign that colaps did means copying someone else routine and when a beatboxers do 2 fingers, it means they’re repeating the same routine/sound. In this case colaps purposely put those sound in last seconds of his 2nd round cause those sounds are inertia’s signature sound. So colaps was taunting him that he’s copying coplas.
I think what people don't realize is that inertia's style is trap/melody. however where inertia needs to work on, is his timing and creating more routines. colaps has been training with a metronome for years now, and since he is a technical monster, it's HARD to battle colaps and win.
Problem with inertia is that he couldnt fit in 1 tempo , colaps is perfect in every piece of his art and that makes him incredible + technics that colaps is using are so unique , no one can do it and no one is that clear and PERFECT in every round. I'm watching beatbox for like 5 years like a psycho and i think that every round of colaps from gbb is perfect in every way , never seen so perfect rounds and clean beatbox.
12:10 yes, to be exact they call it bite, you bit that beat from somewhere or someone else. But for the one where "You literally did this beat awhile ago" the competitor does a sign of to fingers like this✌️ , signaling he did it twice
i will say, in this battle, specifically, even if king inertia didn't used inward bass in his round 2, his 2 rounds has the same note progression, but different sounds. a tip i can give inertia is, try to do a beat in different bpm's and different keys. in that way his routines won't feel that much repetitive.
12:09 it means the opponent is copying something and colaps did the gorilla thing after that it means inertia is copying his style, peace sign means hes done it before in this league
For me of course inertia is repetititve across the battles. But he lost because he made some mistakes probably cause he was tired. + His round were kinda going down when Colaps always finish strong

Agreed, Colaps' second round here is insane!
Colaps and River are teammates, so them going to the finals is sort of like their team wins solo, regardless of the result.
Like kenny and napom in 2016
Colaps was just too perfect the entire event. For me he had unstoppable energy through the event and like you said his execution was just so on point.
12:10 the hand signal means 'biting' which is basically them calling you out for copying someone else's routine, in this case Colaps was saying King Inertia was copying his routine (it did sound very Colaps like) but he added something different to it just after he said "Wait a minute"
Colaps did it because he learned inertia that sound.
colaps did it because it was his own sound
it was a counter
@@xRaPToRv You can't counter your opponent with a technique they themselves taught you how to do lol. Colaps said he taught Inertia that in 2019, and Inertia started using it in his routines. Honestly what was he thinking.
