Hearing them talk about parental tech support is so accurate. I even let it slip one time to my (older) therapist that I'm good with computers, and she was literally calling me at home so I could help walk her through attaching files to an email. Then next time to diagnose why her computer was so slow. I had to stop seeing her, it was stressing me out more than before the therapy.

I used my PSP for media during a summer program during high school, downloading songs using the crappy, but useful browser.
Also used my DS lite for the same after the PSP broke including just straight up recording songs raw from other DS games.

Hell, the longer you're employed in some form of tech community the more likely you are to seek employment in non-tech sectors simply because of how much shit you have to learn to eat on a daily basis as a tech worker just because other companies do something "in their best interest" that negatively affects the entire tech community.

I really don't get Audacity's popularity in hindsight. It is the most outdated, user-hostile, slow, and obtuse computer programs I've ever used.
It slows down with anything longer than 2 minutes, hotkeys don't exist or make sense, and the simplest edits will completely mess up your audio. It's like they never used a computer before, and Dark Audacity feels so amazing in contrast.

It was free. That's all there is to it. People didn't wanna pay for a Pro Tools, Cubase, etc. and it was there. Now why people didn't move to actually good open source projects that came up as time went on, I don't know.

No, then there wouldn't be a problem with 12 year old using it. Also, that wouldn't necessitate any data being sent to Russia or China.
Harvesting data is big business because many powerful entities, be they corporations or governments, will pay big stacks of cash for it.

That crap is why I love Kitboga and Jim Browning. I don't have any prejudices but I can't help noticing how almost all of those dudes are "Bob from Iowa" but sound like they've never traveled west of Egypt or north of Saudi Arabia. The occasional Korean scammer is almost refreshing.

Somehow, replacing iTuens with Foobar and a plugin so Foobar can tell iTunes what to do made it work perfectly first try. Fucking computers.
