Depending on the information, that stuff can affect friends and family too. Purchasing spreadsheets of private information of thousands of people, in grey markets, is a very real thing.

I really don't get Audacity's popularity in hindsight. It is the most outdated, user-hostile, slow, and obtuse computer programs I've ever used. It slows down with anything longer than 2 minutes, hotkeys don't exist or make sense, and the simplest edits will completely mess up your audio. It's like they never used a computer before, and Dark Audacity feels so amazing in contrast.
It was free. That's all there is to it. People didn't wanna pay for a Pro Tools, Cubase, etc. and it was there. Now why people didn't move to actually good open source projects that came up as time went on, I don't know.

Got a customised 5th gen iPod recently and iTunes wouldn't sync properly to it at all, songs got cut off early, nothing had art, it just didn't work. Somehow, replacing iTuens with Foobar and a plugin so Foobar can tell iTunes what to do made it work perfectly first try. Fucking computers.
Why doesn't the switch sell soundtracks. Smash ultimate and Hulu prove it works as a decent media player, and soundtracks are just extra profit for nintendo.

I really don't get Audacity's popularity in hindsight. It is the most outdated, user-hostile, slow, and obtuse computer programs I've ever used.
It slows down with anything longer than 2 minutes, hotkeys don't exist or make sense, and the simplest edits will completely mess up your audio. It's like they never used a computer before, and Dark Audacity feels so amazing in contrast.
It was free. That's all there is to it. People didn't wanna pay for a Pro Tools, Cubase, etc. and it was there. Now why people didn't move to actually good open source projects that came up as time went on, I don't know.

God iTunes is so fucking shit now. I remember it used to just work fine, what happened? Got a customised 5th gen iPod recently and iTunes wouldn't sync properly to it at all, songs got cut off early, nothing had art, it just didn't work.
Somehow, replacing iTuens with Foobar and a plugin so Foobar can tell iTunes what to do made it work perfectly first try. Fucking computers.
Why doesn't the switch sell soundtracks. Smash ultimate and Hulu prove it works as a decent media player, and soundtracks are just extra profit for nintendo.
