These guys are UK legends. Every track they write is just full of great bars, they're incredible. Everyone will say to react to "Poison Penmanship" or "Art of Raw", and both are incredible tracks & arguably their best, but I would highly recommend checking out "Solitary Confinement", "Event Horizon" (which features Crooked I) or "This is Where".

What I really like is the clarity in the delivery of the lyrics. You can hear and understand the words without needing a lyrics sheet. Nemesis & Arrogance were slept on in the 2000s and if you go listen to some of their stuff there's some excellent material with lyrics you can (mostly) understand on the first listen. They did work with Skinnyman (Change your Heart), Mr Ti2bs (Listen to your Heart), and had excellent samples still while delivering a solid message (No Peace, Rude Bois). Wish more people had heard their stuff.

Incidentally Rhyme Asylum were mainly 3 MCs, Possesed (who went 1st), Skirmish (who was 2nd) and Psiklone (obviously 3rd). I say "mainly" as there were other people involved with their 1st album but they didn't contribute to the 2nd. I hear you commenting on the other 2 being better than Skirms, he'd probably say the same himself - especially when it comes to these sorts of bars. Actually, most of Skirmish's & some of Psiklone's bars on this were later released on a track called "Who Goes There" (incredible track by the way) & Skirmish's bars sound so much better on that than they did here. Thing is, RA would not be the same without Skirmish, he brings a different edge, he is a proper hype man too, and he has a softer way to him which RA would lack without him being there, and that certainly completed them as a group.

I never heard the drastic difference with Skirmish. I think Possessed is best, then Psiklone, then Skirmish, but he's always been the same tier to me. Like how is "after killings my trademark for death is a red rose" not in the same category as the other two? His last verse wasn't heard in full here but that's absolutely Possessed/Psiklone level.
I agree with you on Skirmish being the weakest link of the trio, I have always felt that. That being said RA were the UK's best underground Hip Hop group that contributed two amazing albums to the culture. No one has taken the throne from these guys out here.

Skirmish was always stronger on the sentimental side of things, and that’s what made the chemistry of the group so great.
