Hi Tara! The spirit box we use on the phone is the Hackshack X8. Normally we are weary of any "app", but we have tested this one and found it to be pretty spot on. We don't believe that there is any "sound bank" that would produce pre-programmed words. We have tested this spirit box along side the SB7 and SB11 spirit boxes, and have gotten very similar responses. There's also times when we get absolutely nothing during a full overnight investigation. We've been using this spirit box for over 3 years, and also never have came across the same words or phrases coming through (which would lead us to believe words are programmed in). This spirit box app simply produces white noise and has a sensor blocking any radio bleed through. This is the only spirit box app that we highly recommend and have had great success with.
