I recently got emotionally ghosted and dumped (LDR) over a text with no warnings or any proper closure few weeks ago. After listening for a couple of times I'd like to try and explain from my perspective on why this hits deep. It's a reminiscing about what was lost and that constant fight to say you're okay but you're really not. You wanna get to that place of being okay but you're not there yet. It hurts to be reminded about what you lost so you dull the pain with memories of the past. A past you need to move on from but somehow can't seem to shake at this part of the process. This is a song about that limbo you feel in-between heartbreak and healing. Like you've moved on enough to not keep falling back into that gaping hole behind you but its close enough to warrant attention sometimes. And you can't blow past it like you wanted so you take another bottle of soju to dull the pain...only to realize later on you've taken a step back. You didn't fall into the pit but you look at that hole and remember what it was like when you were in the air falling. But that's the process and that's how it goes sometimes. So thanks for making a song that empathizes with our failings. I still can't figure out why its both sad and happy at the same time. Maybe more listens will do it.
