- Rainbow Road (Ultimate Megadrive Funk Remix)
from Super Mario Kart
remixed by King Meteor
I got a lot of inspiration for this remix from Blitz Lunar's "Cascade Masquerade" and quite a bit from Sean Bee's funk remix of this song.
Overall, this remix turned out really nice. I think my favourite part is the end of the "chorus" at 1:12 (and several other points as well.)
Finally, this is not a "Sega Genesis style" arrangement, it's simply a MIDI played back in the Ultimage Megadrive Soundfont. (I did not try to adhere to the capabilities of GYM sound.) - Видеоклипы
Even the music notes look like a rainbow...
... dubble rainbow all the waaaay!
iPianoRecords it sucks because he's dead now! To coronav-

I can’t believe it’s been 11 years, it’s crazy to think that I’m still listening to this remix and a number of others that I grew up on since freshmen year of high school. I remember when I first got an iPod Touch and it had the RUclips app before YT was peepeepoopoo. Back when it had the five star system and no ads. This song in particular reminds me of simpler times, and for those who grew up on the Super Nintendo this probably reminds them of those days playing on the SNES. You always had this really distinct feel of familiarity with how you did your MIDIs, where it sounds so similar to the actual soundfonts of the time while adding your own touch, even back then you could always really differentiate yourself from other remixers at the time. You and OCRemix always got a place in my heart.
Thanks King, you’ve been a staple in my music taste and I appreciate your work even over 10 years later.
I can't believe 2011 was 12 years ago.
If Nintendo has a chance to redo the original SNES Rainbow, they should used this remix a whole lot!
Gerardo Gonzalez Oh boy: they already did it 4 times!
been saying this for 7 years
(They'd get a lawsuit)
Basically the ultimate remix, it sounds so cool
DAMN! The memories just keep coming back. WOO! COME ON!
WOO! COME ON! EVERYONE YEAH!
+X6800 classy time
YES!
Why can’t I like this several more times.
I'm actually gobsmacked that this is the first time I've heard this... what an honour! Cool mix :)
Ah, sega and nintendo and Michael on one track...damn
I think this is how it would sound if it was on the sega Genesis sonic 3 version. ^_^
Not quite. Due to hardware limits 6 FM notes, 2 square waves, a static generator and digital sample chip (reducing FM down to 5 notes) would make this song curiously interesting to pull off. You're not bounded to that via a sound font/VST.
I’ve always admired KingMeteor’s work on VGMusic as a kid. And this remix is NO EXCEPTION! RUclips! Where were YOU when he first uploaded this glory to the ears years ago?!
8 years late but this remix is lit
*9 years
Coolkid 196 9 years late and this remix is still lit
This is beautiful. I loved this song as a kid.
You really hit the jackpot on this remix. Absolute nostalgia!!
best rainbow road remix yet!
Hell Yeah!
That was beautiful.
1:18 that hits so damn smooth
Sonic 3 screams, Sonic 2 bass (on overdrive!). This is good stuff.
Those first 7 seconds finally made me want to figure out how to do the whole midi keyboard thing
Definitely has that MJ Off the Wall funk to it.... A huge like here
This remix is great! Here is enough speed..you ranked...rank...S! I'm so proud of you! [Congratulations!]
Your
Remix is the best!
Do you have a MIDI of this that you're willing to upload? I'd love to do a high quality render of this mix. Really great arrangement!
AMAZING!!! What a total classic!
Awesome! This is really catchy. :D
This was uploaded four years and ten months ago (give or take), and WHERE was I!?
+DarkStorm2Bad
Better late than never ;)
+DarkStorm2Bad that's what I am saying this is beautiful

Really great piece.
Welcome to Rainbow Hill Zone!
All these years, and this is *still* my all-time favourite Rainbow Road mix!
Just randomly checked out MIDIs at VGMusic and repeatedly stumbled upon your name, now found your RUclips channel and listened to this one. Great work!
magical. stunning. amazing.
woo, cmon!
This is so funky!!!! AWESOME!!!
1:12
Sounds like 80-90's funk. I love it, I'd like to second SonicTweaker that either me or him make a higher quality arrangment of this.
Coming back after a decade, still as glorious as it was back then
Genesis does what Nintendoes
How about ninten"do"?
As in steal nintendos song
Wasn't it what nintendon't
So damn classy
It's not a Megadrive style arrangement no, but the YM2608 chips used in the PC-98 microcomputers can produce 'this style' of arrangement, so you've fulfilled the fact it's a 16-bit mix even if it's by means of quite an incredible soundfont. I use this too, it's brilliant.
This mix? Probably one of the best Rainbow Road mixes going, and that's not exaggeration. It's outstanding! =D
who does not let himself be inotised with this beauty of musical work :)
This is so good
Realy good song, i love it!
Beautiful
Someone should pump this shit in a disco
god this track is insanely good
1:19 that part just sounds so relaxing, its just... Ahhhhh....
WOW! So Cool... 👍

If rainbow road was in the 80s
For real!
Most definitely liked and subcribed
Soooo good

Absolutely my favorite track! And this is sick!
woo! come on!! reminds me of my old yamaha keyboard
Maaaan I love it :-)
A live, proper funk band playing this would be amazing.

Rainbow Road Good Future
I'm a decade late, but still this is amazing
Hey, can anyone point me in the right direction for finding the "Woo!" and "Come on!" sound effects played here in this song? I want to do a remastering of this midi so I can have it wherever I go, but it's missing the clear excitement from the voice.
The woo and come on are from Sonic 3&Knuckles. If the woo isn't in that game, then it's in Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
Tael the Mask Salesman*throws away &Knuckles* It's only on Sonic3 not Sonic3&Knuckles... (most common on Sonic 3 act 1 boss)
Thanks for the direction pointer, but is there an efficient way of extracting those sound effects so I can actually use them? I don't want the background music of Sonic 3 in it when I extract them.
*****
I'm actually not sure about that part. :/
Blahman2816
There’s a MIDI sound pack called The Ultimate Genesis Soundfont. It’s in the drums.
0:25 Michael Jackson: “WOO!”
luv it
Lunar Park Zone Act 1!
Feels like a boss theme....
And by that I mean the true final boss in the Sonic game which you can only fight if you have all 7 Chaos Emeralds
Super Sonic R - Rainbow Zone
Gigidag77 what if I told you
that sonic was not the only game on Genesis
Gotmilk0112
Mario = Nintendo mascot
Sonic = Sega mascot
Do you see the connexion ?
this is the song when vibe and funk pull a yoink and combine
hear that blast processing.
yep!
damn 🔥🔥
Still awesome...
2019 : people deserves more likes
2020 : everyone likes their remixes!.
insanely right.
First is calm then is not too crazy the is crazy and the is SUPER CRAZY!
Correction. "First *its* calm then *its* not too crazy *then its* crazy and *then* its SUPER CRAZY!"
Sonics on his own rainbow road now.
His own HyperSonic Rainbow Road; Try screwing with that, Robotnick!
MUY BONETO
XD it's sooooooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!
WOO MAMA!
Which programm do you use?
i love the background hum that starts off the sound but i dont know what its called
Are you talking about the Synthesizer?
@@Elevatorelectricgate yeah
Reminds me of an 80s training montage starting from the sun rising anda bunch of scene changes to sunset on the beach doing a hard sprint
Does anyone have a download to this? I've been trying to fjnd this midi for so long.
Just use an mp3 or mp4 download converter
The bassline reminds me of Planet Starlight, from Bomberman 64: The Second Attack.
What program was used to make this?
@savvn You should make one too! Would love to hear it, provided he doesn't mind giving you the MIDI. :)
Reminds me of the Losing track in Wave Race 64
Holy fuuuuu.....🤯
could you make it possible to download the MIDI file?
midi download?
Nix the vocals you put in and it's perfect!
Did you just mash up snes rainbow road with launch base zone frome sonic 3?
Rainbow Road Zone Act 1
Act 2: ruclips.net/video/h4PjiR_-ql0/видео.html
Dance Party, Everyone
Sonic Mania Special Stage music has been leaked right here!
Michael Jackson definitely wrote Rainbow Road. This confirms it.
WOOOO COME ON
Whoah! C'mon!
Just imagine if they released a really harder version of the snes rainbow road and they used this?
ALL MY YES D:
