Great video, Jordan! The dog situation is not your fault.. If either of my dogs acted like that, I firstly would be very apologetic to those I'm hunting with and secondly the dog would immediately be put on a leash or I would leave the field with the dog. No excuse to allow your dog to be put in harms way like that. Keep up the good work, my man!

Hey Jordan, great video. As a dog owner it's my job to ensure that my dog is safe during the hunt, not yours. This dog should have either been leashed or put in the truck. The guide is the person that has the final say as to what is safe in HIS field. Glad you're thinking about this but don't think too much on it. It ain't your fault.

A hound man here, always interested in dog work of any kind! There is a very simple solution to an unruly dog. My favorite brand of training collar is garmin. I call it the hearing aid. Opens a dogs ears right up. It costs a lot less than a good dog, and can keep the dog safe. I am VERY surprised that these guides will allow this. I think every client dog would be required to wear a training collar if I was the guide. Help me out here. I’m trying to learn.

I think you were good with the shot over the dog, 1) Because you did not see him and 2) It looks like you were shooting high enough that it should not have hit him. By no means am I condoning shooting over a dog; just this particular circumstance I believe there is no reason to worry. Glad you are taking it as learning point and providing the lesson to your followers.
I do believe as the guide, I would have warned the client the 1st time and on the second time that dog broke I would have told the client it is going to the truck. That makes a very unsafe hunting environment. It sucks to have to do that, but the safety of the whole hunting party, dogs included, and the enjoyment of the hunt were being effected.

Hey man! Nice video! Have you seen the specks rolling through this year at all? I know we are all gonna get a push of birds after that huge snowstorm hits North Dakota.

Im in south Nebraska and the only specks Ive seen are super high flyers. Tried calling them down from the heavens to no avail.

@@veteranironoutdoors8320 yeah it’s been tough I’ve been hearing. But I think we will see a really good push here this weekend with all the snow that’s gonna dump up north

It would totally the dog owners fault. He should have never put you in that situation. The good news is the dog didn't get hurt

The hunter who owned the dog should’ve put him on a leash if he was breaking that bad ! Not your fault the way I see it !

There are different ways to look at it for sure. But I thought it was a potentially good learning/teaching opportunity.
If the dog would have somehow been injured from my shot, I would have felt at least partially responsible. So I wanted to touch on it before my season got rolling
