Thank you for the rain moments. You talk so much about your weather it's so good to finally see some of it. The "red beds" are going to be so fun! Thanks for trying something new...so encouraging!!! 🌹The preditory release was so exciting too. I had no idea it would be that easy...hope to try soon!😊
Videos like this one are why Garden Answer is close to 2 million subscribers! Love you guys!
Content is excellent. Filming and editing is outstanding. A joy watching each morning .
Benjamin is so awesome! He’s growing into such a lovely, helpful, gentleman. That was quite a downpour. How fun! I adore the sound of the rain.
I enjoy seeing Benjamin soak up whatever you are teaching him. He’s like a little sponge taking it all in. I learn a lot from you also. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos! So happy to see red in the garden! Yipeeeee
I’m so happy that you are adding red to your flowers. I’ll bet you are going to love it! Everything is looking so beautiful. ❤
Very wise to put a comment on the screen about the cats and baby bird… I admit I am a dog person but when I saw the cat behind you I gasped! Thank you again!
I missed that! I was wondering whether Douglas helped himself to the baby bird all the way through the video. 😢
I commented on Janey’s channel, “Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat” . She just got some barn cats to help with a rodent population. I don’t encourage more birds to come to my yard with water fountains etc. as I already have enough mature trees for them to nest. The neighbours cats do not wear bells on their collars in our urban area, and I dread every spring when I find baby birds clawed in my yard.😢
Proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone! I think the red will be amazing!
What about predatory bugs for beetles ( June bugs). Those are the ones that eat everything!
So glad to see you entering your RED PHASE! hehe! The hummingbirds will really appreciate that!
I think the RED garden is going to be amazing. Can't wait for it to fill in.
The humming bird that was flying in a wide u shape (that grazed your face) was a male trying to "impress" a female to mate with him. They are so cute and funny, what a wonderful place to for them live in your bountiful yard!
I just love the sound of rain. I think all the new red plants are going to be so pretty 😍
Benjamin is so cute, with his "there that should do it". I have a 10 year old son, and i always found it cute and amazing when they start to use expressive sentences that usually come from parents or teachers. Lol When you went out to plant, when it was overcast after the rain, wow, you can really see all the beauty and colour throughout your property on camera, with the cloudy skys. So pretty! What a beautiful property you have all put together. Love it.
Fascinating pest control! I love that the typical home gardener can also purchase packets in quantities that are aligned for smaller spaces. Thanks for linking the company to the video.
I'd love to buy a few of the packets to combat whitefly on my echinacea , but could only find the 100 count box on their website 😮 . Am I missing something?
I dream of the day that company starts selling bindweed mites!
❤😊 Aw Good Kitty's Loving Nature at its best!! Yes the heat has been overwhelming uffta!! How Pretty too add red, getting all the colors in Ur Gardens, such a happy growth, hope Ur thriving more hummingbirds come!! Lov the sounds of rain, just majestic!! What a great productive day, release and watch Beauties, Great Job!! Ur day's are so filled Joyfully what a beautiful place Ur Creatively buildings, what Joy's ❤😊
Love this … for you and your kids! The way you include them and educate them is perfection!
How neat to see Samantha's Biltmore umbrella!! I live 20 minutes from Biltmore Estate. My great grandfather was one of the workers who built the house.
Good morning Carolina Lady. I, too, l live about 20 minutes fro m Biltmore. I love watching Garden Answer even if it is located in a different part of the country.
Also have a home nearby in Maggie Valley…love Biltmore!
What a wonderful aspect of your family history! I love the Asheville area...I have precious and fun memories of going with my mother during the Christmas season for many years.
Beyond beautiful house and GARDENS!! Visited last September for about 4 hours. Not enough time!
Seeing Samantha carrying that umbrella made me feel like a part of your video😊. I spent many years living near Biltmore and it's one of my favorite places. Asheville is a beautiful city---it's an all season paradise like many of our areas in North Carolina!
The hummingbird arch is the males dance for the female😊❤️
Aaahhh....LOVE is blooming in your garden. Go Hummers!
the best part about this channel - i can see the genuine interest in helping others, when even though you have a paid version you keep churning out these amazing videos for folks! Bless ya!
Wow Laura! RED in your garden?! It will be glorious and you will love it more than you think! Can't wait to see it develop! Have a blessed day 🙏🏻❤
We have a koppert lab in our town, here in ontario, Canada. We live in a town that has always had the most greenhouse production/growers, and so the farmers use these for their crops. When people approach our town from far away even, they think they are seeing the northern lights, the sky glows purple and pink from led greenhouse lights. Lol I have been using those hanging tags for a long time. Actually, when ever you buy any hanging baskets or pots with flowers from nurseries here, they already come with the hanging tags. They work fantastic.
Great recommendation 😊
Oh wow that is amazing. We definitely need that here.
Where in Ontario?
@tracyduncan1331 Leamington. We have the largest concentration of greenhouses in North America, in our small town. Leamington is the tomato capital of Canada, and also cannibis. So that's why I believe we have a koppert here, because of all the growers.
@@Nikki7B good to know. I also live in Ontario but along the Lake Huron shoreline, I was just curious!
زراعه الورد للغة الحب والحنان والراحة بالجمال هواه أطيب راحة بالأرض الناس
The hydrangeas are gorgeous!
Everything looks so beautiful!! Samantha looks like a miniature of your Mom
I received an email from Heirloom Roses today: they are offering packets with four beneficial bugs to be delivered every month during the growing season. Love that I already knew the benefits from you!!!
What a great idea!
Beautiful plants. I like the red more than I thought that I would. That white salvia looks awesome too. So striking!
Love the way you do your videos. I have tried to support other channels but honestly they talk excessively, do more tours than is necessary, etc.
Just wanted to give a shout out to whoever edits yours. Kudos to you all. ❤ Love this channel.😁
Benjamin has grown so much! I still remember the picture you took of him last year standing over his crop and looking so proud. What a wonderful young man he is.
GREAT IDEA OF INSECTS. I love how your children are so interesting of the bugs. Benjamin is a great helper. Greetings from Switzerland
Oh my goodness you're blessed with a lot of rain I love to hear the rain beautiful beautiful beautiful!!👍👍🐸
I love you so much for being responsible with poisons, and finding alternatives. 😍
Benjamin is such a smart lil guy , helping his momma with the bug release was very helpful and a learning experience for him 💙
Afternoon Everyone 🥰
I love listening to the rain 😊🌧️
Red is my favorite color. So glad you’re planting red. Hummingbirds will love them!
I love that you're using, beneficial insects for remedies of the problem insects! Yahoo! Just think how the planet would be if everyone did this..
.
I thinks these colors are going to be gorgeous!
Oh! Laura the yard is gorgeous 🙏👍⭐️
FYI: You can put the baby bird back in the nest. It's not true that the Mom/Dad will reject then due to being touched by a human. We have had to do that numerous times! Just make sure you are wearing a big hat, a rain coat that can go into the washer, gloves b/c you will get poop bombed while you are doing this. My hubs and I learned this the first time we had to do that for Robins.
If they are fledging birds, they leave the nest and the parents will continue to feed and care for them for a while as they learn to fly.
Right. The only birds that actually can affect are predatory birds...owls, hawks, vultures, eagles etc. Those types of birds, you leave and let nature and the parents take care of.
Too bad you can’t release something that would attack Japanese beetles. Oops I forgot you don’t have to deal with those.😂
Wow I did not know that. TY ❤
Question; in regards to the struggling Redbud in the south garden, what if you plant something like daylillies underneath to help cool the roots? This may help. Love your channel!
I can't explain how much this video makes my heart swell. From beginning to end. Thank you for showcasing a responsible, beneficial way to control pests. Plus showing us it's ok to reach out of our comfort zone and try new things in the garden. 💗
❤😊 Agree on all counts, there gifted and Beautiful People, Joy's in there Heart's ❤😊
I love watching your beautiful garden and your family
I’m so glad you’re trying beneficial insects instead of spraying. 💚🐝🦋
Does anybody else say "Hey Laura" before they click the video? 😅😂 No? Just us? Lol it's so fun! Love the channel. God bless 🙏
Love that you guys areso conscious of the environment. I wish more commercial and home gardeners would do this.
Red goes great with orange and yellow.
You have just encouraged us that it's sometimes okay to step out of our comfort zone. Red is just beautiful in your garden. You've been missing out. Lol ❤
Those kids are adorable 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love how respectful you are of pollinators and birds, taking such care not to harm them. God bless!
Everytime you have a clip of yourself enjoying the rain or talking fondly of rain it makes me happy. Living in the northwest part of WA everyone gets annoyed by rain when it comes in the summer. It makes me sad because I love the rain!
I love the rain! I’m from Wisconsin and we had some of the most beautiful rain storms. We moved to Arizona after my father in law passed away so Mom would have to be uprooted and I miss the rain so much. Every time it rains by Laura I secretly hope she sets up the camera so I can just watch it. 😂😂 I watch rain on other channels too
@mernany I always look forward to the rain, and thunderstorm. Nothing like the smell of the earth when it starts raining too. Everything just looks more vibrant and healthy after a good rain.
From north central WA state, rain is so important and a beautiful gift! 💙🇺🇸💙
I was about to yell "Laura! Look behind you! Cat!!!" Thank God Laura can read our minds and immediately put up that notice. lol.
The Rose garden looks so beautiful ❤️
My gosh I can't get over how fast Samantha is growing. Seems she was just tiny not long ago.
Such beautiful warm colors, you’re going to love it.🥰
Seeing Samantha carrying that umbrella made me feel like a part of your video😊. I spent many years living near Biltmore and it's one of my favorite places. Asheville is a beautiful city---it's an all season paradise like many of our areas in North Carolina!
What a perfect task for Benjamin! My 2 oldest are 2 yrs & 10 days apart, so I can really relate to your kiddo’s. Boy/girl too! Time flies as they are 22 & 20 now! ❤❤
Thank you to Benjamin I could see them.
Wow Samantha is a toddler big girl now. They grow up so fast .❤❤❤❤
I think this is the first time I have seen Benjamin in sneakers and socks!! 😃And I did like his shoes, nice!
I love that you don’t over expose the littles in videos, but seriously a little boy putting bugs on a garden of roses is the cutest thing ever! And Samantha’s sunglasses! Oh my word! So cute!
Just a great video today lots going on. Even a baby bird made a appearance. Just so cute. Love the red Laura. Can't believe you planted red. Looking beautiful.
The hummingbird doing the arc flying was a courting ritual! That was probably why it brushed up next to your face. Other things on its mind.....another great video.
I am so excited for the patriotic planting, and especially the red. ❤😁
Monty Don had a jewel garden area in his garden. It was beautiful !
Laura, I am so proud of you for using red in the garden !not only do hummingbirds love it , but butterflies , especially Monarchs love it as well ! ❤
I read somewhere that bees see blues and yellows, hummers see reds and oranges. Interesting.
So glad you're planting red in the garden, it's one of my favorite colors to add a little pop here and there through out the my garden. Love mixing it with yellow!!
The sound of the rain hitting the high tunnel was some of the best ASMR this morning! How long did the rain last before you were able to come out of the tunnel?
Look at you trying out something you think you won't like. Proud of you!
I love the warm colors!
Everything is so beautiful!!!
That’s a mating dance of the hummingbird!
Love the rain!!! My parents were from Oregon and growing up we travelled all over the state visiting relatives. Love Larua and Aaron's videos so much. Watch them every morning. Thank you so much!!!
Birds are fledging now (last week of June - first week of July.) It's best to keep of your your pets indoors at this time while the babies learn to fly. Also that big swinging movement hummingbirds make is a mating dance to impress the ladies and they'll do it throughout the mating season, so there was probably a girl nearby.. And interestingly, bees don't 'see' red, although they do see orange & yellow, so it'll be interesting to see how many visit your red flowers.
Your hedges look a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
Send the rain our way...hot hot hot in California
Wow!! I just noticed in the background, on the west side at the beginning of the video, your trees are touching over the drive way, creating that canopy in parts, that you had envisioned! It’s beautiful 😍 🎉
I think it's kind of cool that you went from starting a big club in school to starting on the path to getting thousands of people a new found interest in bugs
Love watching you, and I learn another way to help my garden grow. 😊
And that learned not learn I hate spell check😢
Love that new dahlia! This will be really pretty! Love your umbrella Samantha!
We use the packets for our house plants. I will never be without them again! I was able to control a thrip/spider mite infestation without chemical sprays. I love them. Thank you for the reminder, I need to order my next batch of the packets.
I’m glad you’re teaching everyone about using beneficial insects. It’s a growing enterprise and I hope your influence helps spread their use from home gardeners to commercial agriculture. PS: I wouldn’t find it distracting in the slightest if you wore sunglasses outside. Cataracts come from cumulative sun damage. Ask me how I know. It’s scary for me to know that I have eye surgery in my future because I didn’t take it seriously when I was younger. I’m 69 now. Good your children are wearing sunglasses!
I am 73 and just had both eyes done. I think the climate has a lot to do with the sun and damage. I never wore sunglasses when I was younger either. Things change. By the kids getting used to wearing them now is great!
@@joyceschneider8377❤😊
❤😊 We Learn As We Go, I'm too one who has had done 67, I was a driver, equipment operator, over the road many year's too long, I always wear Sunglasses too bright for Me, butt had both done this year... ❤😊
Glad to see your using red in your garden, I have it in mine and I love it.❤
Red and purple look great together too!
Fun video. Love seeing Benjamin out in the garden helping you he said today cutie:) Thanks for all the information I’m like you I haven’t put red flowers in my garden since my mom came because that is her color and I’ve been seeing more hummingbirds!
So much fun watching Benjamin helping with the beneficial bugs! I purposely watch your videos of the garden to see what plants are covered in bees. I have been a beekeeper for 10 years now and always looking to plant more flowers just for the bees.
I always plant a red annual in my garden in memory of my dad who past away a few years ago. That was his favourite colour and honestly how can you go wrong with Mother Nature. If it’s by a plant that’s yellow or blue or whatever colour it’s all good. It’s still beautiful no matter what.
I had a moment of forgiveness for my garden when I saw the bindweed on the ground outside your high tunnel. I fight it all the time and it drives me crazy, and to see it in a famous gardener’s yard who has full time garden staff made me understand we all deal with this little devil 😂
I saw it also, bane of my garden!
Can you do a garden tour with your mom walking around looking at your gardens?? I’d love to hear her thoughts and comments! 🩷
Mega-Ditto!
Just last night I was researching beneficial insects for my roses! This video came at the exact right time for me, and I'm definitely ordering them today.😃
thank you for planting some red! it’s so nice to see the new red additions and how you use it in the landscape 🥰
I'm excited for an update on all the red!!!
Thanks for sharing those stunning white hydrangeas with us! Also, YAY RED❤.
That dive-bombing arc you saw was the hummingbird’s mating dance.
I'm surprised how good it all looks - reds who knew? Som of those evergreens you planted in the past, especially that blue one behind the area you worked in today - so very beautiful. I hope I get to put one of those in my yard - if I ever get settled again.
Overhead view is beautiful. Great tour of the gardens. Pat in North Carolina
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
Oh my! The red does look good there. I love it.
I think you’ll come around to reds. You have so much lush green in your beautiful gardens now red will not show up as hot and dry anymore but it will just contrast nicely with your verdant backdrops. Looking forward to more. #teamRed
Thank you for adding the disclaimer that the cats didn’t get the baby magpie ❤
🐈🐈⬛
The baby bird is a fledgling its part of the learning curve of flying the parents are still caring for it and protecting it. Mother nature is amazing
Benjamin!!! Such a good boy!!! Love him ❤️
Good morning! So many pretty plants. I love the colors but I prefer the pinks, purples & blues too. Gardens with any colors are so pretty.
