Man as a ravens fan that was a crazy game, I really wish Willis didn’t retire so early, he was imo the next ray, his energy and passion dude was really good. But shanahan has done a great job in San Fran and the niners are looking great on both sides, not sure if Lamar can escape bosa and Dee ford when we play you guys.
@@Caedrelsallyxdd You always wonder at the end of that SB loss, seeing him sitting down as that Ravens confetti fell round him, if that killed him. A lot of great players emotionally give up even if their careers continued. Vikings WR Cris Carter mentioned following the NFC Championship loss against Atlanta that he never felt he'd win again as an example. With the direction of the team at that point it was probably the best for his health.
Harry Engel I mean it’s hard to argue that the guy who’s been flawless for 20 years straight isn’t the best ever, the guy hasn’t even had ONE bad season in 20 years, 9 SB appearances, 6 wins, and a million conference titles, Bill is an absolute genius at figuring out a way to win, yes he’s always had Tom, but Bill has won the SB with some pretty BAD teams and bad defenses around TB
I appreciate Carl Banks never mentioning the whole deal about Jeff Hostetler being their backup and adding even more odds against them. Shows you how much respect Carl had for Jeff the whole time.
The thing about the Giants win is that two amazing things happened. 1) on the fumble, the nose tackles helmet luckily swiped perfectly where Craig had two hand on the ball. It looked like a sledge hammer swinging through to get the ball. 2) Bahr sliced the winning kick. It started to sway left and at first looked to be wide but then it sliced back in. Never seen a kick do that before or since. Hats off.
Ryan Barrett I didn’t think they’d go 10-6 I thought they’d go 7-9 at least & then grow eventually making it to 12-4 & maybe yet another championship game
I'm a 49ers fan and the words "there will be no 3peat" still haunt me and I wasn't born until November of that year. I've watched this game and I consider it the worst 49er loss followed by the 1987 playoff to the Vikings and the Super Bowl losses to the Ravens and Chiefs respectively.
That Packers vs Broncos super bowl was brpught to you by the 49ers and Bill Walsh. Both head coaches, Holmgren and Ahanahan were 49ers coordinators who took Walsh's offense and team building and many other former 49ers staff members.
I wasn't even born but seeing how much it meant to the Giants in 1990 beating the 49ers in the championship round. Gives me chills. The reaction in 12:06 is perfect
Minneapolis miracle at 24 is surprising. A lot of these ‘great games’ come down to one moment which this game had a huge moment, but they kept going back and forth to the very last second and each had moments where you thought ‘well this is over now’ and the other team kept coming back
No. The Bills won in SF the following season. The Giants were built to beat the Bills and barely did it. I'm not saying the 49ers wouldn't have won, but they would not have destroyed them.
11:05 Sounds like they had a bounty... Every team every year has a bounty. And people give the Saints so much crap, knowing damn well every team wants to knock out the other's best player. That's football people!
It was revenge. Their former NT, Jim Burt, had hurt Hoss earlier in the 4th quarter with a questionable hit so the Giants took matters into their own hands and that wasn't the first time they had KOed Montana from a playoff game (1986).
Wow, where do I begin? One, Stacy Keibler is still hot. Two, that photo of her with the mascot was during the Ravens' Super Bowl win against the Giants, not the 49ers. Three, what a game that was between the Broncos and Packers, and it wasn't just the fact that the Broncos had won it for Elway, but that the AFC had lost 13 straight Super Bowls before. The pride of the conference had been tarnished, and the Broncos winning gave some of it back. Four, damn, it would have been something if it had been 49ers vs Bills in Super Bowl XXV, and I think the Bills could have won that one because 49ers also liked to score at a fast clip, and also, even though Bill Walsh was no longer head coach, the 49ers were still using a West Coast offense, and Marv Levy would have had some familiarity with it, as he and Walsh were close. And, of course, five, yeah, you guys finally mentioned a Bills' game on the list, and you had to mention a game we got screwed in and started our playoff drought. Thanks a bunch, you jerks. Lol
Falcons would have been a better opponent for the Ravens, IMO. Too bad Harry Douglas tripped over his own feet catching a pass from Ryan, there was no one on his side of the field. Probably could have jogged into the end zone.
I'm tired of everyone saying the Niners should've won the SB over the Ravens like the Superdome cutting the power off stopped the Ravens from blowing the Niners out.
Soufflé Samuel I love the mytisque of the 85 Bears, but Marino shredded them in the regular season, and I believe he’d have done it again in the super bowl.

The 49ers should’ve lost to baltimore by 40. No one seems to remember the lights getting cut off at the most convenient of times....
