❤thank God for people like you who help people like me, I absolutely love my vegetable garden this tip is immensely helpful I just discovered mildew on my zucchini and didn’t know what to do, thank you again, bless you,!,,Our vegetable and fruit we grow at home is not just a hobby but important to help feed us healthy foods so these videos are super appreciated and important,❤North Carolina girl,
I wouldn't lie to you 😀 The best part is, it works even better as a preventative. You can spray this 1-2 times a week to ensure the plants never get a significant infection, and since it's basically just water in the end, you can spray it without having to worry about bad stuff accumulating in your soil overtime.
Hey neighbor! Thanks for sharing this. I found this out just by testing different things and want to share this: non-diluted 3% Hydrogen Peroxide is an excellent weed killer. I sprayed the top of our septic tank and all the grass and weeds died on it by the next day. I did not overly saturate it either. It is a better alternative to poisonous Roundup or other poisonous herbicides. A few months later the grass has already covered it again.
There are many uses for peroxide beyond medical uses. It's a great anti-fungal. Yes, it will kill weeds, too (so will white vinegar - another natural weed killer). It's also an excellent vomit-inducer. We had an incident where Dale ate an old onion in the compost pile. If you take a turkey baster, you can shoot a little hydrogen peroxide into the throat and they'll vomit within 60 seconds. It can be a lifesaver for pets if they get into something. The good thing about peroxide is it quickly disassociates into water and oxygen gas, so it leaves no residues. It's a great color-safe stain-fighter, too. I have used baking soda and peroxide to get stains out of clothes.
Thank you so much! My zinnias are full of powdery mildew, I can't wait to run out and spray them once the weather clears out. You're awesome with these amazing tips! Please keep them coming...!
Thank you! Let us know how it works. It usually takes a few treatments. Always apply at sunset so it can sit and kill the fungus without the sun drying it up.
Thank you so much, struggling with powedery mildew on my tomatoes and butternuts and pumpkins. I am in South Africa. Going to do this tomorrow evening! I have 10 volume H202 which I have worked out to be 3%. Very informative video, I have subscribed!
Thank you so much! My squash had this exact same powdery fungus when it was late in the season and I had many squash close to harvest. I was devastated because it came outta nowhere and suddenly. I always have a bottle of peroxide in my house and it is and easy solution.
Very timely tip...I have zucchini and cucumber plants with mildew I noticed few days ago. I will use the hydrogen solution you've shared. Thanks! New friend here from Texas, USA 🇺🇸.
I've been using 16 Tablespoons to a Gallon, and it seems to work a little better for me... I might actually try working it up even further, as my current results at 16 are not quite satisfactory either... Just wonder what will happen once I hit that Max Peak the plants can tolerate?? I think I'm going to use a few plants as experiments and try hitting them with Strait 3% Peroxide and see what that does as well... 🥰🥰
I'm going to try this. Most of my roses in the back have powdery mildew for months and I've tried other home remedies and it works for a few days and it keeps coming back even though I treat them every day. It has stopped my roses from blooming.
Me 3 , had to come back, thank God for people like this to help us with our garden food, vegetables especially are essential for our wellbeing, and my favorite hobby
Great information and a cheap remedy for mildew. A most for 2022 spring and summer gardening. Need to put it in my notes. Thanks for the info. As always very well presented.
Thank you , I really appreciate this tip , I tried growing cukes first time this year and I only got 5 cukes out of 2 plants the mildew killed them really fast . Gardening here in Florida is so different , I never had these problems up north. At least now I know what killed them . I'll be ready if this ever happens again .
Welcome to combat gardening! Southwest Florida here. Always have plants for backup because so many die due to disease and pests. It is not for the faint of heart.
I can relate. While my conditions aren't exactly like yours, the summers here are just too hot and wet, so we have to garden mostly in the shoulder seasons. July and August simply kills all the annuals except for the sweet potatoes and peppers...but even the peppers get stressed out. Hydrogen peroxide makes the spring plantings last longer, for sure.
I've learned that as well. I didn't realize how much easier gardening is in PA and NJ 😂 The biggest reason why I moved down here was the longer growing season, but it came with so many more challenges to get those extra 2 months of growing.
Trying again my friend. Thankfully it is cooling a little in southwest Florida. I get 10 % of my seedlings to maturity due to mold fungus and pests. My chickens dont help either. I am on the h2o2 wagon. Hug Dale!
Hydrogen peroxide is an *excellent* preventative. When our rainy season starts, I spray 1-2 times a week at this concentration with my ULV fogger. It definitely helps extend their lives about another month or so. Eventually, the rains can get so bad that they succumb, but this year, my two original cherry tomatoes are still alive and producing that were planted in March! Now's probably the time for your garden to come alive with your much more pleasant and drier weather.
Hello, does this work on downy mildew too? I have some coleus indoor plants that got it and trying to combat it. I'm also worried it may have spread to my other indoor or outdoor plants. Would the ratio be the same for a preventative measure? Thanks.
P Mildew has my Canada Crookneck Winter Squash under attack.Even though its end of season here in MN.I'm going to spray the leaves a few days prior to vines removal prior to destruction since the P Mildew lives in the soil..I'll use the spray much sooner in the growing season next year..Thanks for tip..Dale's such a good boy Peace from MN
Powdery mildew becomes more of a problem in cool, damp nights in fall, so I’m not surprised. It wasn’t an issue for me in the summer when it was hot, but I guess the UV index has fallen enough that it is no longer sterilizing the leaves. Let us know if you have success with the spray! Dale says hi.
I tried this on my sugar snap peas. The water just runs down from the leaves and does not stick to it. Is it advisable to add dish soap to it or maybe cooking oil drop?
My gorgeous, delicious high-producing snap pea plants were devoured by white powdery mildew just within two or three days. It’s that fast! We were devastated because everyone in our family loved to pick them directly and eat them on the spot. My dachshund was crazy about them too! 😩😢
Well that worked. Had a serious infection of this on my pumpkins and put 6 ounces in 24 ounce bottle with dawn dish shop to help it stick within minuets the stuff went away still have a little left but will treat again tomorrow nite
Question - I saw a video about this working great but it noted a down side and said that it will also kill all the good microbes in your soil. Do you know anything about that?
I haven't tried it. Baking soda is very alkaline and salty, and I don't like the idea of so much salt and high pH running off into my soil. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water rapidly, so it's a very clean product.
the 3% hydrogen peroxide in pharmacy has a nasty stabilizer added- is why NOT for internal use, the stronger agricultural does not have it- stabilize in your freezer.
Ok, I see the powdery mildew spots on the leaves. I sprayed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the ratio as recommended. Now, why is it NOBODY ever show what it looks like when you spray the powdery mildew AND NOBODY ever show what we expect to see the next day or 2 or 3, etc.? Why? because a picture is worth a thousand word and because I like to know what it looks like when it's working! As far as I can tell, the next day i still see the white spots!
THAT'S TRASH😡😡😡😡 Why didn't this video pop up earlier 😰😢😭😭😭😭 I heard of a Distilled Water, baking soda and dish soap spray to put on in the morning. That trash damn near killed my stuff. Leavea shriveled up and turned brown, I had to hurry up and einse them off. Imma try this next👍🏾 EDIT: I also need that super duper sprayer you got there 😁👉🏾

Good stuff, I was getting worried about my weed plants. Thanks!
Works great on cannabis, zero residue after also...

I'm gonna try both of you guys ideas. Peroxide is cheap. Gotta check the vinegar. I got a MESS of a yard right now

Ohh, Gentleman I put a 👍. From the Bangladesh 🇧🇩.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Going to try this.I have fungus just going crazy in my garden in northeast nebraska this year! Have been using copper sulfate.
Very timely tip...I have zucchini and cucumber plants with mildew I noticed few days ago. I will use the hydrogen solution you've shared. Thanks! New friend here from Texas, USA 🇺🇸.
The cool nights of the fall spread the mildew. This should help cure it after a few applications. Let us know if it works!

If you want to make a gallon and don't want to count out all those tablespoons, it is the same as 6 fluid ounces.
Had to come back and review this video; my zuchini have powdery mildew and I know you'd have a way to fix it. Thanks!
Did the same!

Great information and a cheap remedy for mildew. A most for 2022 spring and summer gardening. Need to put it in my notes. Thanks for the info. As always very well presented.

40% Milk + 60% Water also does wonders for killing Mildew at least for me.
There are a lot of remedies out there to kill fungi. If it works for you, keep using it I say.
@@2MinuteGardenTipswhat about baking soda in water ?
@@Wolf-xu1fj
This one does not work for me.
It is another solution. Will try it. Thanks.
It does not work at all but it will make everything stink of rotten milk.
Loved the tip. Thank you MG. I have some squash that I will try this on👍
Glad to hear it! Let us know how this works on your squash.

Can i do this with milk that spoiled (not chunky yet)?? If so, i finally found a use for old milk 😅
I have a fig clipping and noticed this year this white sporty/spores growing on the leaves.
It's potted & in my lanai.
Do you have a natural remedy?
The hydrogen peroxide solution seems to just slide off the leaves. Should we be adding any soap to the solution so that it sticks?
Also remove any infected leaves that are in the dying phase in order to keep the fungus spores from spreading to the existing leaves.
Trying this on some plants I planted recently! Crossing my fingers this works! 😭
Can you use this mixture on bell peppers
Thank you!

It'll be back in a week or less. The best you can hope to do is control it. There are better ways. Regalia is one.
For a small indoor spearmint plant how often should I spray it?
Good stuff!

Question - I saw a video about this working great but it noted a down side and said that it will also kill all the good microbes in your soil. Do you know anything about that?
I have the same question. Common sense tells me just coat the foliage but not soak the soil. The good microbes below in root zone should be fine 🤷🏻♂️
IS this safe to use around Yellow Squash that's flowering already? Thanks!
You want to avoid spraying on flowers, if you want pollinators to be on flowers
Does it work as a natural pesticide too?
I doubt it. It won't be strong enough to harm most insects, especially hard-bodied insects.
Sulphur dust is also completely natural ...and elemental
And relatively cheap

Yeah but is that a real Gallon or an american gallon?
QUESTION Will hydrogen peroxide work to prevent or treat rust on fig tree leaves? I live in an area that experiences high humidity.
You never showed the plant after the 3rd application
once, pound, gallon, quarters no good in a country like Australia, metrics
What is the solution as a percentage mix?
12.5 Tablespoons of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE to 4 Liters of water.
the 3% hydrogen peroxide in pharmacy has a nasty stabilizer added- is why NOT for internal use, the stronger agricultural does not have it- stabilize in your freezer.
Wath about grape
Im a beginner plant mom, i thought it was pollen!! Then i realized, no flower no pollent (its a mint plant)
Cucurbits are very susceptible to powdery mildew. Any squash, melon, cucumber, etc. can get it, along with other species prone to fungal diseases.

lol harsh fungicide then pulls out peroxide.
