I would also love a best drugstore makeup video! With your thoughts on your favorites vs the drugstore version (worth the splurge or not). I know you have a video about which ones to really splurge on.
You are one of the very few beauty influencers I fully trust. So when you mention that a product is good, I trust you. I just purchased the full Hero brush set from Anisa, I am SO excited to try it. Thank you!!
I'm 64 years old and the best foundation I've ever tried is the Dior Forever matte foundation. It has great coverage, looks natural and most of all, it doesn't settle into wrinkles and fine lines. The best concealer for my older skin is the Lancome Teint Idole for the same reasons: doesn't settle in wrinkles and fine lines and stays all day. Both don't contain fragrance which is important for my sensitive skin. I've tried other foundations/concealers you recommended Marlena but I always come back to these two products. I should try that OS powder, it sounds really good.
Came here to say the Dior foundations ( matte or glow) are some of the best on the market. I still hate that it is so scented but other wise it is a 10/10!!
I love a good round up! My only difference is I love the BK Beauty brushes, and they are a woman owned business. I'm especially impressed with the Angie Hot and Flashy brushes for mature women or people with hooded eyes.
I’ve watched you for years and have appreciated all of the advice you’ve given over the years. With so many new products coming out all the time, I greatly appreciate your videos like this with the top makeup and skincare products. It’s saved me a lot of money and research time hearing from someone so knowledgeable and I’ve discovered some new favorites through you so thank you and please keep us updated on all of your top products.
Hi Marlena I’m 48 and haven’t worn makeup for years ! That’s about to change I’m trying majority of your recommendations and I’m super excited ! Thank you for your channel. Can I request a video for woman that wear glasses I really struggle because my hooded eyes on my eye makeup Thanks and happy new years! 🎉
This year I discovered the Shiseido MicroLiner Ink and LOVE them! I have super sensitive eyes and these liners do not cause any irritation. I love how thin and precise they are as well.
I trust you, Marlena. When you make recommendations, I listen. I have never been led wrong by you. I bought the Anisa brushes and I wasn't disappointed.
Aww yay!! I'm so glad you shouted out Allie and her Ravie lip products. I just think they're so beautiful and I love to see women influencers supporting each other. Kudos to you girl. You're just so classy and that's why I keep coming back to your channel.
I’m in love with the liquid Gucci highlighter that came out this year. It gives that healthy glow. It’s so pretty. I get questions every time I wear it.
Lisa Eldridge is basically the only lipstick I buy these days. They are excellent! I need to try the Anisa makeup brushes. I was going to do BK beauty but time to venture out with Marlena's pick 😊
Marlena, I absolutely love how you teach & educate. For the first time, I'm getting the right level of information and answers about techniques and tools. From your videos about viscosity and when to use which tools to your demonstrations of eyeshadow placements for different types of eyes to the way you explain how to apply bronzer and blush, it all has been extremely helpful. If you're taking video suggestions 😊, it would be helpful to have you demonstrate the right type of brushes for different concealers, bronzers, and blushes. Thank you for all the great information! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic 2024!
I loveeee the Elf halo glow & One Size setting powder. Literally get compliments on my “skin” all the time. Those two products are my secret bc my skin is far from perfect
My best new find this year that’s surprisingly inexpensive is Kimuse tubing mascara (k beauty)! I have fallen asleep with my face in my pillow & woken up with still curled and perfect mascara, cried a bunch, worked out, even taken a bath & this looks perfect all day (never flakes or smudges), holds a curl fantastically, yet easily removes with warm water! My eyelashes are long but fairly thin so I appreciate the silicone spikey kind of brush (vs the bristle kind), but if anyone loves to pack it on for volume the heimish smudge stop was my go to tubing mascara (but it went on too gloopy for sparse lashes/my preference) 😊
My holy grail products of 2023 are definitely the fenty setting powder and dior forever skin concealer. those two literally perform magic and Id recommend them to anyone!!
Thank you Marlena for taking the time to go through these products; it is super helpful; I also joined Make Up Geek Academy and I couldn't be happier. I was always a huge fan of Lancome until I learned recently that they test their products on animals. I refuse to endorse a product or use a company's products that in today's day and age test on animals. Any alternate good primers for Combination Skin?
I love how supportive you are of others! I definitely need to try that primer! New to me this year are the nudestix blushes. I really like them so far!
Thank you for this video..I can listen to you for ever...I have been wanting the Natasha Denona eye shadow palette but I went over board with makeup but I can't get it out of my head..I have other neutral palettes but this one just speaks to me...I bought the brushes which are a investment but Love them...did I say I LOVE them....Be safe and have a Happy New year....
I think I have all of the Anisa brushes including the skin care ones, they are all amazing!! Also, Natasha concealer is uhmazing and her palettes are so good. I’m going to look into the o/s powder and the setting spray, thanks!
ELF power grip formula, I use the blue. Neutrogena hydra boost face wash, out if this world. I almost don't need a moisturizer, almost! These are my favs
I tried that primer at Ulta after hearing you talk about it - holy crap, it’s AMAZING! I can’t justify buying it quite yet, as I already have primers that I need to use up first, but it’s definitely the next one I’m getting ❤
Totally OFF TOPIC but I just decluttered my closet and I re-fell in love with one of the best work dresses ever : the MARSTE black mock neck bodycon dress. You’ve done such an amazing job with that line ☃️🙏🏻
I appreciate your channel so so much! I love that you are consistent in your recommendations it shows that you really believe in them and that it is real! So many channels are just constantly pushing something else which can be confusing…. I know you recommended Patrick’s blurring powder , I’m curious to know your thoughts on Givenchy?
Hi Marlena! Greetings from Toronto. Canada!🇨🇦 I must thank you for turning me on to Anisa’s brushes The Pinnacle Foundation brush and Eye Crescent Crease Brush are phenomenal!!!!! Many thanks!!
This may be something that you probably wouldn't go to on your videos but I have tried a lot of long-lasting lipsticks liquid lipsticks and I'm just over the moon with Maybelline vinyl ink or pink vinyl I don't remember which way it goes. They are made to compliment every skin tone. From the wand to the ingredients to the longevity and not that funky area where you got funky mouth looking circle around the inside it's a beautiful product hands down the best ever. I believe the one I have is a rich Barry called rumor outstanding for a dark long-lasting lipstick it's not drying it has a little bit of gloss to it that does wear down it doesn't feel weird on the lips I hope you give it even though it's not high-end neither is elf it's just a great product happy New year
Thank you for this vid Marlena! I absolutely love it when people share their favorite products. 😊 My current faves from 2023 (that are new to me, anyway) are the Face Atelier Ultra Foundation and the Face Atelier lipsticks. The foundation is so blendable and provides a flawless finish and it lasts all day. There are tons of shades, plus they have color correctors in white, black, red, olive and yellow that you can buy to mix with foundations to get a perfect match. The lipsticks are so creamy and last a long time. I also discovered this sunscreen by Biore Japan (I learned about it on Nikki La Rose’s channel) that is incredible. It is the perfect sunscreen + primer, especially for oily skin. My makeup goes on so beautifully over it. And I finally jumped on the tubing mascara bandwagon with the Thrive Causemetics tubing mascara and I am in LOVE! It is the only mascara ever that doesn’t flake, smear or clump on me, yet comes off easily. But if you haven’t tried any Face Atelier products yet, you should check them out-also woman owned and based in Canada.
Hi Marlena. I have to say i really miss the makeup geek eyeshadows. I used them for years. Do you have any dupe suggestions for "in the spotlight"? I love that color.
I bought the anisa blush brush and it’s the best brush I’ve ever used for my cream blush! I got rid of my old blush brushes bc I’ll never use them again 🙌🏻
Thank you for being direct and straight to the point. For not rambling and talking about stuff that have nothing to do with why we clicked on your video. I appreciate that because it shows respect for our time and for choosing to support your channel. ♥️ 💄 I will try the setting spray you recommended. I am currently using the Patrick Starr waterproof aerosol setting spray in the pink can but it can be drying which I don’t like. Hopefully your recommendation is not drying! 🥳
D'ALBA first spray serum! I stocked up when it was on sale from Amazon. I'm not really a make up person but I use Elf Halo glow to conceal blemishes. D alba and halo glow is a perfect combo.
I love your videos. You are a true makeup artist and your content is so much fun to watch as well. I’m definitely not a makeup artist but used to be a freelance artist for Lancôme years ago. I still love the la base pro. I’m so glad you do. My question is…what is a good primer if you use a non silicone based foundation. I think I have a few. ❤
How many new brands and youngsters this beautiful soul has helped along the way? Goodness me, pure LOVE is radiating out of this woman. I have yet to find a RUclipsr who said anything else but positive loving things about MakeUpGeek items. It was/is THAT good. They were always referred to as "a staple" and "can't imagine their routine without it". The biggest compliment one can wish for..🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 ♡♡♡ xx..
I love Allies lippies she came out with ❤ they are flawlessly made .. and she did say there is more colors coming soon ❤ I can’t wait to get more ..love you girl and love it when you post you got a new video ❤❤
Marlena thank you for this video 🥰! I wanted to order Anisa foundation brushes, but they have extremely expensive international delivery. I wrote to their support about this issue, they responded immediately and promised to have a look and find a solution. Will see
I love your content Marlena. I wholeheartedly agree with your picks in this video. Many of them I own and love and look forward to trying some of the others you mentioned. I love a good Amber scent also, although sadly, I cannot afford the one you listed. My fav Amber oil is by Nemat. OMG....it's divine and SO affordable!! Make sure you get the Amber fragrance oil (little bitty bottle) and not the Amber Eau de Parfum. The latter is not as good, IMO.
Girl, lol, don't feel bad. I'm OBSESSED with the Baccarat Rouge 540 perfume and that bish is almost $400 for a full size bottle sometimes. But like you said, it's potent and will last you forever. Sometimes you just gotta save up and get you the good stuff!! No shame in that game ever. I've also bought inexpensive dupes for it when I was broke af so I get that too lol.
Hi Marlena, love your channel. Could you please tell me which shade of concealer you use ? I’d like to try it but I live in Belize and will need to buy online and have it shipped. Thank you so very much! You inspire me all the time! Have a wonderful New Year!! God bless !!
Okay, so I quit watching beauty videos on RUclips for awhile now. You pooped back up and I clicked on it because you were always my fav on here. So real and honest and a joy to watch. I adore your laugh. Yesterday I was at Ulta cashing in on my points and I needed a few things including a new primer because the one I was using I didn’t care for. I also switched to the NARS foundation based on your recommendation and I love it so much. Yesterday I did end up going with the the Lancôme primer that you mentioned here, however I was hesitant to buy it because I thought that it had a different base than the Nars base. Am I wrong? When I tried the Lancôme primer on my hand it was Heaven and I had to get it, but was also hesitant because for me it’s a lot of money if I can’t use the 2 products together. Can I use them together? Or do you use a different foundation with this primer? Lol I need advice. 😉 Wishing you and your family a very blessed and happy new year. ❤
Which video do you recommend to watch about makeup expiration. There are some palettes that I’d like to still use. Eyeliners, lipsticks, lipliners, and blushes I’d like to know when to throw away.
Hi! I never use foundation brushes. I tend to wear bb creams and light finish foundation (tarte bb) being my favorite. I use mostly natural hair brushes; rephr for eyeshadow. What brushes would you say would be great for liquid contour and liquid blushes? Maybe you said it and I missed it. By the way, you have such an amazing speaking voice. It's calm and clear. I could listen to you talk about anything.😊
Hi Marlena, thanks for the video. I would love to get the brushes but since I live in Germany it’s not that easy to get them. I tried on Amazon but couldn’t find them. Do you have a hint for me?
I would also love a best drugstore makeup video! With your thoughts on your favorites vs the drugstore version (worth the splurge or not). I know you have a video about which ones to really splurge on.

My goodness, yes, lancome and has a tightening effect on me

I think BK Beauty brushes are made by Anisa International. They make a lot of different lines.

That fenty powder was dry on me (35, dry). It was very popular like 5 years ago and it worked well for me then (29, oily) for a full covg, matte look.

Or do you use a different foundation with this primer? Lol I need advice. 😉
Wishing you and your family a very blessed and happy new year. ❤
Thanks for videos, Any recommendations for matte bronzer palette?
wow I didnt even know of many of these brands! I am intrigued. For me the best loose powder is Huda's easy bake though
Which video do you recommend to watch about makeup expiration. There are some palettes that I’d like to still use. Eyeliners, lipsticks, lipliners, and blushes I’d like to know when to throw away.
I have anisa brushes, love em, except the foundation brush. Its so prickly on my face, love the all over one, i forget the name.
Hi - could you show some of us older gals how best to use shimmer? I’m 67
Hi Marlena, thanks for the video. I would love to get the brushes but since I live in Germany it’s not that easy to get them. I tried on Amazon but couldn’t find them. Do you have a hint for me?
Great video!
