Later Naruto realizes that his family (his son specially) needs his presence and attention more and now after they confronted each other, they have a way better relationship.

I think it pisses people off for several reasons. Firstly because of how toxic sasuke was towards sakura, even going so far as to try to kill her a couple times. Secondly because it wasnt just naruto trying to save her, he treated her with kindness, respect, and devotion but she always threw his efforts back in his face and treated him like trash (it wasnt till after sasuke left that she even gave him the time of day). Honestly that love triangle as a whole was toxic.
