    IT REMINDS ME OF "THE BRADY BUNCH SHOW" BACK IN THE DECADE OF THE '60s. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

    I remember the one for. 1:50 to 2 15. That creeped me out back in the day, but thanks for posting. You put a lot of effort into the history of Paramount

      It seems like the first versions of both the "Closet Killer" theme (Dominic Frontiere; this jingle was thankfully cleaned up before January 1970) and the "Color ID" theme were both scary due to them having the fastest pace.

    I never seen this update which had 2 versions of the logo that had the higher pitched closet killer, and makes me wonder what shows had it and where is the one from "Vote For Brady" which saw on someone else's history of Paramount Television History video here. It even had that higher pitched Closet Killer. I also saw a history of this logo with out the higher pitched closet killer, but had the one from "Vote For Brady".

  • @BrownBrother27
    @BrownBrother27 8 лет назад +11

    Why are some of the Paramount split-box logos lacking the "A Gulf+Western Company" mark? Paramount was still part of Gulf & Western regardless.

    • @ClassicTVMan1981X
      @ClassicTVMan1981X 6 лет назад +3

      The ones without the G+W byline were used on _Mission: Impossible_ and _Mannix._
      These same variations also appeared on a few TV movies of the period, including the pilots for _The Immortal_ and _The Young Lawyers_ as well as _The Magician_ (1973 TV series).

    • @ClassicTVMan1981X
      @ClassicTVMan1981X 6 лет назад +2

      And, on _Here's Lucy_ (the first season) the logo does not even have a copyright notice!

    • @williamstebbins7294
      @williamstebbins7294 3 года назад +2

      @@ClassicTVMan1981X I thought the ones with out the G+W byline from Mission Impossible because they with over budget with special effects which Gulf Western did not like and were glad CBS finally canceled the show . They would not let CBS have any new shows and let ABS have shows like The Brady Bunch and Love American Style. It says this in a book about the show.

    • @ClassicTVMan1981X
      @ClassicTVMan1981X 3 года назад +1

      @@williamstebbins7294 Oh, wow! But I think it was resolved in the 1974-75 season, as I know the pilot episode of Kate McShane does use the normal version of the Paramount TV Split Box II with the G+W byline, and CBS did air the series proper in the 1975-76 season with the Blue Mountain logo at the end.
      Hence, I might think the final season of Mannix (the very last show Desilu did, as G+W bought out the studio during production of its first season, in 1967) likewise also used the standard Split Box II with the G+W byline, but that final season also did not air in syndication.

    • @ClassicTVMan1981X
      @ClassicTVMan1981X 3 года назад +1

      @@williamstebbins7294 There actually were a few new Paramount Television shows CBS did air before 1975, including Funny Face (starring Sandy Duncan) in 1971, followed by Me and the Chimp in January 1972, and lastly The Sandy Duncan Show (a re-tool of Funny Face) that September. None of these were renewed for a second season.

      I understand because... the variations of the "Rising Circle" logo seen on _Star Trek_ (season 2 starting with episode 17, "A Piece of the Action") haven't been widely available after 1984, and only a few VHS tapes keep it.
      The Split Rectangle II with the 1974-75 fanfare version is also rare because it was only heard on season 5 of the original _Odd Couple._
