The date of the premiere was July 6th 1978 I was 12 at the time but can still Remember as like it was yesterday. The days of brilliant premieres brilliant actors and actresses and of course brilliant films.
Never seen this, thanks ,went to the cinema with my father to watch this film. Fantastic keep watching it after all these years. One of the best war films of all time.
James Henderson Piss off with your PC Thought Police poppycock, SJW snowflake! Did you even pay attention to the enlightened conversation between Julius Limbani and Pieter Coetzee?
Great movie, aswell as the era, My parents and me at 12 years old, went four days after this premier at the Leicester square theater. Its been one of my favorites ever since
For me, "Wild Geese" is a Classic Movie.
Abs.
"Com'on, Rafer!" "Shawn! Stop the bloody plane!" "I can't! If we don't make it on the first run, we've had it!" Seems Richard Harris and Rodger Moore were MIA at the premiere...
Back then Spastic wasn't an offensive term. Wasn't it great when the world wasn't offended by everything. 0:44. Mrs Richard Burton who used to be Mrs James Hunt.
The term 'spastic' fell into disuse with good reason, it was commonly used as an insult. You didn't hear kids call each other 'cerebral palsy' in the playground did you?
Thanks for this. Where is Daniel Carney? I am trying to write a piece about him so any help/memories you have of his visit to the set would be great. Thank you
@@christianorr1059 Thank you - yes, he died in 1987. I managed to connect with his family and I wrote my article. If you are interested in his life and work, you can read my piece at der-jimmelwriter.com/critical-writing/
Why would you want to given that it was more commonly used as a playground insult rather than a word used to denote a symptomatic phenomenon seen in patients with a wide range of central neurological disorders, including spinal cord injury?
But it was perfectly okay to say it then, then, then. Nowadays you can’t open your mouth without offending someone. The world was a less 'easily offended' place back then.
My best movie of all time. Genius. Thanks Richard Harris, Richard Burton and Roger More. I am still watching this movie these days, now.
One of my favorite movies.

This takes me back to being a child in the 70's

What a great movie clip here. How things have changed a lot in the 42 years since then. The Wild Geese is one of my all time favourites.

I remember watching this mowie at cinemas. I was 8 yrs at that time. That was 42 years ago. As of today there are only 2 actors alive.
Emile....Emile!! Thanks for posting!
Pleased to meet you sir.
Underrated Classic!
Ian Yule was a Professional soldier and a Mercenary, the real deal.
Way to go, @Paul Spurrier, Fight On!! ✌️✌️ “The Wild Geese” is one of my all-time favourite films, personally relatable in more ways than one!
My parents went to that, it was 6th July 1978 as it was my brothers birthday.
I was wondering when your brothers birthday was.
@@andydixon2980 I can sleep tonight ....

One of the very best.

A great and melancholic film
yeah a classic but bittersweet.
The highlight of the movie is the clear enunciation by almost all the actors unlike the garbled dialogues we hear in today's movies
"Com'on, Rafer!"
"Shawn! Stop the bloody plane!"
"I can't! If we don't make it on the first run, we've had it!"
Seems Richard Harris and Rodger Moore were MIA at the premiere...
It was all a bit beneath old Rog. probably, too busy being 007, probably did W.G. as a favour!

So wonderful 2 c Ernie & his wife Doreen who were great supporters of the charity.
Burton looks good Tanned , and healthy by all accounts Susan was a good influence on him 👍
Sheer class. Not like Todays Hollywood paedo, virtue signalling elite. An amazing film.
What a Film, great acting, even the obnoxious child!
Those were the days……
Oh spasmoid, so many happy memories.

Thank you for the upload. :)
Do you have any particular memories of your time on this film? Thanks.
Looks like they all had a good night
Burton! Harris!Krueger! Moore! The original Avengers!
Stars Organization for Spastics? I'm sure they made it more PC now, but clinically what affliction are they talking about when they said "spastic" ?
Very fucked up.
cerebral palsy.
Roger Moore voice
Try saying Spastic now... holy hell you'd get into a shitload of trouble...
You could probably say 'spaz' then and still get away with a couple of disaproving frowns.
Why would you want to given that it was more commonly used as a playground insult rather than a word used to denote a symptomatic phenomenon seen in patients with a wide range of central neurological disorders, including spinal cord injury?
Roger Moore and Richard Harris were missing here.
Moore must have been filming Moonraker
Where's Roger?
I hope Paul Spurrier is still acting! I am! :)
Where was Roger Moore?
Roger away on location perhaps????
Filming Moonraker
Let's talk about your father.
