    The fact I used to be on that team just a season prior when I first came to the school and was kicked off because I played the game, won, and they said if you don't leave with us on the bus, you're not apart of the team, so I left with my parents (wasn't gonna have my parents drive an hour to watch my game and an hour back, just to pick me up when I'm right there). The head coach also hit my disabled father at a basketball game and we had to get the school involved. The male coach that was there also used to come into the locker room while we were changing and just sit there staring at us. I'm just glad justice is served and they can get real coaches for their next season.

Even though I am a powerful basketball player thanks to Dennis Rodman showing me the way, and I encourage students in my country to take up the sport. As much as I want to play with them, I resist the urge because it just wouldn't be fair to them. No matter what team I would be on, they'd have an unfair advantage because of my ultimate skill.

    • @brianwalsh1401
      @brianwalsh1401 Год назад +6

      Your joking right? The last vestiges of what you wrote? No way. Maybe that's why this country is in the state that it's in. Things can be learned through sports healthy and unhealthy depending on who's playing and who's coaching. Character building starts in the home and is by far the most important place in anybody's life is their family. Show me healthy caregivers and I 'll show you some healthy kids.
      A lot of sports both amateur and professional have been littered with horrible behavior. Sports can be a good thing if properly coached and supervised and valuable lessons can be learned but I think in more and more circumstances sports has been taken out of perspective and unhealthy behaviors are being taught.
      I played and coached myself but parenting is the most important thing and a lot of parents have failed in this effort. I would like to see what this 22 year olds parent/s are like.

    This happens a lot in school sports across America.
    It almost happened to us when our two youngest were in a basketball tournament and a child couldn't make it ( at first), unbeknownst to us, the coach was prepping our other kid( he was on an older team) while in locker room to suit up and play for the kid. He was gone too long in locker room so my husband went to check and that's how we found out. My husband was going to allow it at first, then he said he thought about how this would go against teaching our children about honesty. And just then, that kid who was absent showed up. He had been sick overnight but felt better and played only a few min in the tournament.

      @@jillpatton3432 One would think they would have enough integrity but sadly it certain parts of the region school sports are Big Money Business for the coach and the school. Majority of the coaches in these particular areas treat school sports like the NFL, NBA and MLB. This was about 18 years ago when our kids were smaller. They are adults now and we saw it all. Players seemingly afraid of coaches, parents holding back in speaking to coaches about their grievances out of fear of retaliation of their kid ( getting benched and teased by teammates). I worked over 30 years in the public school system, sports are a political and money machine on the backs, blood sweat and tears of phenomenal talented young athlete's.

      Consider, though, that this is a 22-year-old woman with a bunch of 13-14-year-old girls. This creates an unbalanced power dynamic. When you're that young and an adult you know and trust is doing something this wrong, are you really gonna be in a position to say no? More likely than not, you're not going to at that age in that kind of situation, because you don't know what that adult is going to do to you if you ever dare contradict their wrongdoing. No it's not an excuse to not show integrity, but it's explaining why the girls didn't do anything and tried to act like they were cheering her on. It also explains why they decided to cancel the rest of their season, because I mean, that kind of incident is so demoralizing and it's not something they would ever want to relive again, and they need time to recover from what happened.

    As a white guy who was sent to an alternative school, and played basketball on a travel team for 4 years, I can say this is EXTREMELY common play!
    I mainly cover defensive positions, up top guard, and down load defense. No one EVER made a 3 pointer on my watch, and they were LUCKY if they didnt run into a pit trying to make a layup! Yet the coaches within the alternatives High-Schools would do nothing but make un-fair calls as refs. There were multiple times I would set a pit or a screen for a layup, and the coaches would call a fal. Simply because the kid was black; and would complain I was playing to hard of defensive and was "on his d!¢K". It's honestly sad how coaches and refs own agendas; often time interfere with the game!

Imagine all the teams out there who make up imaginary players on a roster just to fill empty jerseys allowing students or even people off the street who already graduated. They allow them to come back pretending to be these real or fake people on paper and are granted the opportunity to play high school sports. It's more common than you think and most people today are willing to cheat to win no matter the cost unfortunately so. It would appear it's simply about winning period regardless of the consequences.😩😳🤕😔
