❤❤❤❤❤ love all the songs on here .although i was born in chicago my mom was born Uvalde my bloodline is Tejana all the way .thankyou for sharing this great music with us tejano music lovers
I was born in 92 so some of these people I don't know. But I love this! My dad would pay tejeno all the time so I grew up with this. My ipod is mostly filled with what's "hot now" (Drake, Nicki, etc) but this brings back memories! I would love to have this music (David, Bobby, The Latin Breed, Elsa, Selena etc) keep it up!:)
The opening image states it all... TEXAS... and this is the music that unites all of us Tejanos, from Houston to Dallas-Fort Worth to San Antonio to the Valley to El Paso to the Panhandle and all points inbetween... this is our music and we share it with you our brothers and sisters in California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and elsewhere... enjoy!
Tejano music takes me back to my roots in the town of Donna Texas Proud to be from there and I hope to someday go back for some years and yeah living in Texas
Love my Tejano music. It's a shame we need to go to San Antonio to really feel our Tejano music... we've become conjunction music, not who we are in reality.
@7luisomar Saludos. La razón por la cual se incluye a Ramón Ayala es porque mucha gente lo considera Tejano y también Norteño. Desde 1983 Ramón Ayala y Los Bravos del Norte han ganado Tejano Music Awards en las categorias "Album of the Year - Conjunto" por "Mi Golondrina", "Single of the Year" y "Album of the Year - Conjunto" por Un Rinconcito en el Cielo, "Album of the Year - Traditional" por "Mi Acordeon y Yo" y "Mexican-Regional Song of the Year" por "Dos Amigos" con Jody Farías.
I agree with your list . All of us have lists ,it all depends on our age . I very sure that my parents list was different the mind.Still its their list thats the beauty of our music. nino canales (age 70)
that's true from San Antonio all the way to Brownsville puro tejano music pura Raza kubo y no me digas Nada Eddie Gomez from Brownsville living in kyle pero ni modo asi es la vida nomas no dejen cayer la Bandera puro party time Que no
Gotta agree Tejano has the base guitar beat and the all important horns and the keyboards. Conjunto has the strong bajo sexto electrico. Norteno mixes the saxophone And we'll you can't mistake the mariachi sound. And of course the squeeze box as the most fundamental instrument that makes up the Tejano sound. This list is more about the Tejano singer influence.
To everyone watching this video, unfortunately there are some people who have nothing positive to contribute and post degrading comments for no reason. I apologize and hope that you enjoy what you see and disregard the negative comments. We do not want to become entangled in this type of behavior. Do not communicate with them. Sadly, this is the type of behavior that they choose to exhibit, and we do not want to be a part of it. Remember, educate yourself and respect others. God bless you.
Well put. People just can't appreciate good Tejano Music. Too all keep it going. Tejano radio just recently came back on radio.101.7 I think. From Pasadena Tx. I live about 6 miles from Pasadena. I get bad reception ,but while in Pasadena it's on.
Not all tejano music is played by tejanos and not all tejanos play tejano music, tejano groups are now popping out in northern states by sons and daughters of former tejano migrant workers that stayed there, just like there are now norteno groups in Texas formed by sons and daughters of immigrants from northern mexico, what gets me is that some of those norteno groups are passed as tejano when their style and sound of music is different
I never considered Ramon Ayala as part of the tejano genre.. He's more norteño ,we can differentiate by the instruments used.. I love the list .. Just don't agree with Ramon Ayala being in the mix lol..
BeeBrenn Little Minds argue over Little Things. Being Open Minded about people, places and things, cultures including Music is what it's all about. Limiting oneself to whatever is not only ignorant but Stupid. Grow up and try your best to get rid of all the prestigious you may have and stop restricting yourself and try to accept all that you can. All that is good.
