Any show there was/is special, impossible to really describe… add in the Dead, total elevation achieved! We were so lucky in the years before “In The Dark” changed everything….
Awesome Dave, yeah this is a really hot show. Can't even imagine what it must have been like to see the Dead play at Red Rocks. I saw Dead & Co play there last fall, that's the closest I'll ever come lol.
This series has introduced me to so much 80s material that I feel was lacking from Dicks Picks and the official releases. Thank you for sharing and compiling all of this 🙏🎉
Do you really like that toy piano sound they had Brent using? Like 1:34:20, I can's stand that sound. That doesn't mean I don't like Brent, I love Brent. But too much of the early 80s had that, it sounds like those Fischer Price xylophone toys we had as a kid. Mid to late 80s Brent was so much better.
Wow I clicked to save, and look at set list.. ended up dancing around my room for a min, then wished I'd have company of friends,, then I started thinking of so many people, and overwhelmed.. Then I realized the dead brought me there, and ushered me back again.. I dont know how long I was gone for.....
Thank u, again! Been to RR's about 50 times, but never for the Dead :( ...they were a hoot @ the Downs a few nights later. I made the 2nd show there :)
I grew up in Evergreen CO . Just a short drive up the canyon from Red Rocks . During September of 1983 , the Orioles were closing in on their last world series victory . Somehow I made both .
Haha! I remember after a Panic on the Rocks, we pulled over in Evergreen. Only to be awakened the next morn by a Trooper. His opening line, "who told you this was a hippy love-fest" I'll never forget that. I left out so much! Hos Peace b with you in Evergreen, DblBit :)
Hey Susie! Yep Hunter's Trix 25, 7-1-85 has a nice Jack-a-Roe, it's track 4 here: ruclips.net/video/rmxNTF6fei8/видео.html I like this version because Weir's guitar is pretty high up in the mix, always fun to focus on his part.

Blazing comet ☄️ of a show , fiery 2nd set opening night, exquisite playing, world’s best venue 🌎 🏆 - Highly memorable, memorably high!

Did you see the O's clinch it live Helbit? I've still never been to a playoff or WS game live, definitely something I'd love to do some day.
