Christina Lamb is (by far) my favourite journalist/war correspondent, and her books are unputdownable.
This is though the first time I’ve ever heard her speak, and I couldn’t decide if the connection was seriously faulty or if she is has very tremulous tone to her voice. It was very off putting….I think I’ll stick with her books!

Tried to listen to her. I can't. Hope I will never hear a voice like that again.. But I am sure she is a smart woman, with great books. I just could not listen to her. Got too much pain in my soul trying to.

What is she saying? Do you have a transcript that I can read? It sounds like English, but I can't understand her words.

Tap on your screen. On the top right hand side you will see a box with the letters CC inside. CC stands for closed captions.
If you tap on the cc box you will get subtitles.

Christina informs us he is uncaring. Who'd have guessed that this would be the case after he ordered the razing of Aleppo, repeated gassing his own people... Excellent insights

Yet Tony Blair wanted to knight him and he stayed at Buckingham Palace.
How the posh brits loved him at one point, maybe Christina did too

These posh British people are always astounded how ordinary people in power turn out to be. I'm not sure why this is the case but it has something to do with social class, and as a result they have unrealistic and hidebound expectations of what power and influence must be

Are they? Is it possible to terrorise a country, gas people and destroy cities and be weak at the same time?

When you meet people they can be different to what they project. She doesn't JUST say he is uncaring. She makes other observations as well including that he came across as being weak. Also that he looked like he was on the way out earlier, and obviously Putin revived his fortunes as a distraction from Ukraine. She speaks of other topics as well and offers meaningful insights especially about parallels with the Taliban and what we might expect from the composition of the future government and consensus-based outcomes. Your inability to actively listen, is the issue here.

Better to read one of her books, or do what I do with RFK and Biden, play at 1.5 or 1.75 speed and it’s more fluid and easy to understand. Shame cos she is very intelligent, whilst RFK is frustration to listen to the lack of common sense 🤷‍♂️

I'm reminded of the comment I read once in, I think, Private Eye that someone had "cleverly avoided being libelous by being illegible". This interview cleverly avoids offending anyone by being completely inaudible - I have no idea what she was saying - possibly she was demonstrating what weak mediocre and unimpressive sounds like!

AND? If you have a condition like a famous person does that make you like them? Can you understand what she's saying? Have you made any effort to? Or do you think that people with a medical condition should be locked up never to go on public shows to give an opinion, (well informed and erudite as it is), because they SOUND like someone else. Take a lookout yourself Mr Borz because you're unimpressive in content.

Indeed, not modern, and like so many of Russian influenced regions puppet states taking money for protection and to do as told. This may be the opportunity it needed to start taking steps toward modernisation. I also imagine that many of the people will want to return home from the west, and the less Russian interference the less migration at our borders
