Best one I remember was this one guy kept finding his pool half empty every morning. Turned out to be a bear kept visiting for a nighttime dip and he was just sitting there relaxing. Was hilarious.

I had an armadillo in my back property once and it looked just like what yall are seeing! My neighbors dog started barking one night and it's owner went out and saw an armadillo. It must have moved on after that night because we never saw it again and the digging stopped. A couple of years later we had marsh bunnies show up but they relocated too. That armadillo sure tore up the ground!

Ground hogs are a farmers bane. Usually the holes are dangerous causing people to fall. They like to make their burrows near wild trees that bear fruit. I am not seeing large holes so it might be an animal that I am not familiar with which would be an armadillo.

Hello Donna 👋 How are you doing today?

  • @tpike9482
    @tpike9482 Год назад +77

If it's not an armadillo, it could be a fox. The burrow looks a lot like those we use to have. Look for another back door burrow nearby. The fox burrows on our place were always near a large tree (pecan in my case) or a small line of trees close to the woods or property line. The small holes look more like what an armadillo would do in their search for grubs & such. But foxes also eat insects as well as a variety of foods. They do prefer meat, though. So you should check the perimeter of ALL your fencing near the base & see if you find any scratching or fur. Or it could be a rabbit den since the poop you found looks like rabbit poop. Fox poop is more like cat poop.

Looks like an armadillo :) They will root around like pigs looking for grubs. Most of the time they will have a "nest" under a brush pile. They will start to dig "burrows" in the area but usually will go back to their brush pile. This time of the year in Ok. when the nights are cold they will come out in the day when the temps are about 50 degrees or more. If its too warm during the day they will come out in the evenings , night or early mornings. They are extremely fast to catch. Just a suggestion: you may have your cameras set too high. Armadillos are only about 12" -14" tall.

You may or may not see activity on your camera for a while. Armadillos usually have many burrows that they use to sleep in or hide in depending on how large their territory is. To catch them, requires a wooden trap specificly scented by armadillos. You can buy them prescented by the builder. They can really tear up a lawn looking for and eating grubs and worms.

My experience with armadillos is I had one living in a back corner of my subdivision garden. It never bothered my garden area much, but it shore tore up my manicured front yard! Little holes like you are seeing. I found out they are eating grubs, which for us is junebug larvae. I didn't care about organic back then and I treated the grass with soil insecticide, killed the grubs, and the armadillo moved on. The darn thing scared me one evening before dark as I watered the garden and it just came walking up to me and didn't give a hoot that I was there! I know they have terrible vision, but it might have been deaf as well! We'll see if your camera catches anything! Texas Deb ❤️😁

In my area, I've noticed that young armadillo siblings will hang out with each after their mother leaves them. They roam around a lot based on where they find the most food and their one night activity seems high because two or more of them will really tear up the ground.
They may not return to the same area for a week or so as they try out different places to rest during the day. Eventually they will split up and start their adult lives on their own. You probably had a few of them visit your pasture and may have scared them off, if they were in that den, when you were talking to each other.

Brooke, you are a very brave woman, watching those bees flying so close to your hands, I feared you would be stung numerous times. Love all the videos and wish a happy and productive New Year for the family. God bless all of you and all the animals.

A bee sting can be healthy for 1 if they're not allergic. It's venom has powerful anti inflammatory properties and can benefit the health of your skin and immune system. It can also improve certain medical conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and chronic pain.
The downside is it can hurt like h3ll and the bee dies.

Gopher/ground hog. Fox and ‘Yotes dig into a large den but that’s usually in the side of hills or under rocks/felled trees.

Writing from Southeast Missouri. My neighbor counted 121 holes in her small backyard. She is a CPA which explains why she counted them 😆. Turns out, her culprit was an armadillo. She called the city animal control, and numerourous attempts were made to trap the critter. Apparently, Armadillos are quite difficult to trap. Eventually, he moved on. Good luck!!!

From what I see, it's doesn't look like a mole. That usually are bigger mounds on top. So perhaps you are right with armadillo

with some gophers mixed in. They have been a plague here for the last 2 years. Now I have raccoons and foxes digging up tunnels and dens. My garden looks like ground zero. Wishing you and your family a wonderful new year

The little holes look like skunk damage we get in Ohio. They are after grubs and worms. We don't have armadillos up here, so not sure what kind of damage they do.

Definitely looks armadillo like! One thing I have learned with moles on our farm is if we can control the food source or eliminate it the moles move elsewhere. Wonder if it’s the same with armadillo?

A ground hog would have a lot bigger hole and a big bare area around the hole. A small kid can crawl inside and there are usually two or more entrances. We have tons of armadillos at the park they root like that they travel a long way. They eat ants and grubs good for the garden. You need to let your grass grow. Let the wild life abound. I saw an armadillo roll like a basketball down the bike trail. It was running from a bobcat.
