This feels like one of those films that you see as a kid and end up having nightmares but when you rewatch it when you are older you realize it is really good.
These images are so uncanny, everyone has more teeth than possible, faces are all right angles, animals have extra legs, but it's also convincing they make sense. I like and dislike them, it's amazing art.
Yeah it’s really getting there compared to how it was even a year ago. Crazy to think how this stuff will look in the near future. Soon it’ll get to the point where it’ll generate movies
The uncanny feel is similar to failing a vibe check, honestly. The images we see before are so life like but lacks that human touch for lack of a better term. It looks more dream like then something of this world.
Yea they had problems because the stuntmen kept getting hurt during the chocobo race scene at the gold saucer. Also Cait Sith’s animatronics kept malfunctioning.
I laughed way too hard at Red XIII just being a dog, at Cait Sith's cheap costume, at Jenova... Totally fitting because they wouldn't have the budget for better special effects or costumes, lmfao
these feel like we’re peering into an alternate universe where these were made into movies back then. now i want a dark sci fi fantasy with 80’s live action animatronics
Final Fantasy VI as a 1980s steampunk dark fantasy And let's not forget the SaGa Series: Romancing SaGa trilogy as 80s dark fantasy film SaGa Frontier 1 as an M rated 80s cyberpunk hybrid film. SaGa Frontier 2 as an 80s dark fantasy film.
The Ruby Weapon shot, seeing Yuffie look spot on, and all the kind of expected compromises I would expect to see in an 80s American adaptation of FF7 is so wild…the weird direction turning towards being like the Highlander, the Buster Sword being more like some glorified bastard sword for some strange reason, the unusually 80s style of Cloud and Sephiroth in make up and such-it all fits perfectly.
I like the fact the A.i took artistic liberties from the OG story. Like Jenova's appearance, the way characters look (realistic casting), and Red XIII being a less cat and more fox
Some of this stuff is so fantastic and has so muhc potential.. but at the same time it is so alien.. as if it makes me remember things that I never experienced... Man the 80s mustve been pretty awesome.. while actually they often weren't..
Jean Claude Van Damme as Cloud Strife. Jennifer Connelly as Tifa Lockheart. Wesley Snipes as Barret. Some italian actress as Aerith. Ewan McGregor as Sephiroth. Some asian kid as Yuffie.
haha this is great! I've played the OG FF7 so many times that I could follow along without the chapter names. Great job! (also this makes me really miss 80's sci-fi aesthetic)
As I was playing remake something just felt off, besides the terrible story changes. That feel of 80’s anemoia where the technology and the people felt used worn down and discarded. This definitely captured that feeling.
Sort of nails the look and tone more than the remake ever did, even though this on the face of it looks way off. Midgar should be an absolute dystopian dump in the remake, not a shining jewel, no sunlight etc. To contrast the rest of Gaia which could be in danger of becoming that way, but is mostly untouched for now.
Really impressive! I don't know if you're taking suggestions, and its 100% completely fine if you dont, but I have a few that would probably fit well w/ the 80s asthetic Contra as a sci-fi action/horror film (like the monsters are scary, but the protagonists just wipe the floor w/ the aliens and everything's super cheesy) Bioshock 1/2 as a horror film And maybe also Final Fantasy 9 as a dark fantasy movie and/or final fantasy 6 also as a dark fantasy movie, but with small bits of sci fi added (the magitek and all that) Anyways, Great interpretations and I would have loved to see an actual full blown ff7 movie be made in the 80s!
I wonder how accurate Hojo's scene when Aeris gets rescued would be in this movie? Is he just trying to sic a dog he subjected to various experiments on her out of sadistic amusement? Or would he actually be trying to breed the two?
As someone who was the "perfect" age to see the original Mario movie on TV at random moments and not put together it was about the game, I feel like this meme is giving everyone a taste of what I felt all these years. Also before anyone judges me too hard, I had SEGA growing up so I didn't know much about Mario at the time and if I did I feel like I would only be more confused.
*STOP THIS SHIT LMAOO HOLYYY* It looks so off to FF7 but yet like it would have cannonically shaped the world of cinema/sci-fi as we know it. visceral detail n I love how the A.I. even subtracts modern fashion/hair style progression (seeing as most actors had dark hair in the renders)
Sephiroth looks like he'd be played by some unknown Swedish actor, who'd you'd never see again after this movie
He looks like Henry Cavill and he actually looks alright for an 80s antagonist.
@@LelloDalamiq i guess sephiroth will always be played by a Superman actor, even in AI generated images?
To me he looks like a cross between Orlando Bloom and Joaquin Phoenix.
and yeeears later appears in Rocky 4
Versus Michael Biehn as Cloud Strife.
Yuffie's one actually looks like an 80-90s screenshot of power rangers, and Cid looks hard af
He looks like a young Robert Shaw.
Tbf FF7 Cid looks hard af in every single situation
what is wrong with her teeth!?
@@kingofburnttoast AI Art always has something off with it
@@kingofburnttoast Ai's weaknesses are teeth and hands
This feels like one of those films that you see as a kid and end up having nightmares but when you rewatch it when you are older you realize it is really good.
Dark Crystal did that for me!
Also if a film came out today with this aesthetic I would watch the hell out of it
These images are so uncanny, everyone has more teeth than possible, faces are all right angles, animals have extra legs, but it's also convincing they make sense. I like and dislike them, it's amazing art.
Yeah it’s really getting there compared to how it was even a year ago. Crazy to think how this stuff will look in the near future. Soon it’ll get to the point where it’ll generate movies
Remember it was AI. Extra legs and teeth are normal.
The uncanny feel is similar to failing a vibe check, honestly. The images we see before are so life like but lacks that human touch for lack of a better term. It looks more dream like then something of this world.
Yeah I just block out all the unnerving parts and just focus on the whole picture
No uncanny for me, just disgusting. I just hate it with all my soul.
This was a really good movie at the time, I remember watching it when it first came out. Not sure how well its aged.
Yeah i wish they hadn't changed the characters so much for the game adaptation, i still miss old Ruby weapon's design.
I'm pretty sure someone reimagined the movie
@@ErectusEnormous Yea they wanted to make it more anime and geared toward weebs and call it Advent Children.
Yea they had problems because the stuntmen kept getting hurt during the chocobo race scene at the gold saucer. Also Cait Sith’s animatronics kept malfunctioning.
This joke keeps getting funnier every time it's posted! Haha Well done, sir! Upvoted!
It's like a cross between Highlander and Bladerunner. That's nice!
Highrunner
or
Bladelander
So it looks like Highlander 2
I laughed way too hard at Red XIII just being a dog, at Cait Sith's cheap costume, at Jenova... Totally fitting because they wouldn't have the budget for better special effects or costumes, lmfao
The whole thing has a vibe from 1984 Dune movie.
Cait Sith's ears look like 2-3 ply toilet paper rolls
These are actually imagines from an alternate reality brought over here by AI.
comment right after yours "This was a really good movie at the time, I remember watching it when it first came out. Not sure how well its aged."
Thanks CERN
Hands and eyes sure are weird in that alternate reality....
It seems I’ve crossed over into a comment section of a dimension where this movie was a game?
truer words have never been said
Creator: So how many teeth has a human? Midjourney: Yes!
Yep and fingers/hands 😂
At least it's tried previous version are more horrific beacuse its produces 2 sets of teeths
Yea teeth don’t have THAT many human
@@george_MF_washington Wittgenstein is strong with you!! XDXDXDXD
All of them LOL

Red XIII's escape just filled me with so much joy, not sure why. Just seeing that puppers high tailing it out of there felt so natural.
Final Fantasy VI as a 1980s steampunk dark fantasy
And let's not forget the SaGa Series:
Romancing SaGa trilogy as 80s dark fantasy film
SaGa Frontier 1 as an M rated 80s cyberpunk hybrid film.
SaGa Frontier 2 as an 80s dark fantasy film.
The third romancing saga was quite dark. The bad ending disturbs me.
FFXII as 80s fantasy, FFXIII as 80s science fiction, FFVIII as 80s teen romcom...
Loved Reno holding a security baton in fencing stance vs. a whole helicopter.
Damn they really didn't hold back on Tifa in this either lmao
Tifa is italian
The imagine of Safer Sephiroth is so ingrained in my subconscious that when I saw that image, I legit thought it was from an unreleased movie.
Man the 80s mustve been pretty awesome.. while actually they often weren't..
i think this is probably the best one ive seen so far since all of the art is really good on its own.
How did AI somehow manage to make Sephirot even more intense.
Aaah Cloud Gosling the true protagonist XD
bro this is beyond belief incredible
Looks like a mish-mash of Dune, Cyberpunk, Blade Runner etc
The greatest thing ever
3:02 goes so hard for no reason
Duuuude, I don’t know how you do these, but they are AMAZING, especially this one, would of LOVED to see the back in the day!😁
Gotta say, it gives Nanaki, Yuffie and Tifa some justice!
Yuffie looks adorable, while Tifa looks NYC-ish
@@alexandarvoncarsteinzarovi3723 Drew Lewis Dreyfus is how I thought in the first picture of Tifa
Cheers mate! Just don’t try to count yuffies teeth
I dunno, seems to me like the AI looked at Nanaki and just went: Fuck it, I'm making you a German Shepherd.
@@kichelis I googled that, have brain lag, but yeah but a mhc yonger version of her,
Barret in that first one looks like a vampire hunter... He going to hunt down Vincent 🤣🤣
I remember reading that the Cosmo Canyon scenes were shot in Monument Valley, with local Navajo residents playing the townsfolk.
I'm not fooled that's Blade runner with a hint of Total recall
I did use blade runner a fair bit in the prompts lol
You win sir. Coolest thing Ive seen Final Fantasy related in a while
One of my favorite games of all time.
this gives me so much star wars vibes, can you do it with xenogears lore? its pretty spectacular too
If they could do Sci-Fi like this I would watch everything that comes out.
Someone should tell the AI how many teeth humans have.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Or fingers. Or legs in case of a dog ;)
Loved Aerith as Michelle Pfeiffer and Tifa as Courtney Cox 👌
and hojo as joe turkel
Zack looks like Adam Driver. Adam would be great for Vincent imo.
Why am I getting nostalgia vibes from these videos
I’m lovin the ambience, you nailed it!!
1:06
Tifa trendy, flashy gal-about-town headed out to the ruined medieval castle with her talking dog and the Highlander.
I think that's Aerith
Jean Claude Van Damme as Cloud Strife.
Jennifer Connelly as Tifa Lockheart.
Wesley Snipes as Barret.
Some italian actress as Aerith.
Ewan McGregor as Sephiroth.
Some asian kid as Yuffie.
Richard Jenkins as Professor Hojo
Snipes ? Don't you mean Mr. T? You had one job ...😆
'80s Michael Biehn as Cloud Strife.
Sephiroth looks like a fkng highlander
Highlander?
0:52 dog got triple legs
Back in the late 90's as kids we would run around and pretend to be characters from ff7 and this is how I pictured it in my head.
haha this is great! I've played the OG FF7 so many times that I could follow along without the chapter names. Great job! (also this makes me really miss 80's sci-fi aesthetic)
The Weapons looked so cool. Gave me Nausicaä vibes! I’d love to see something like that in the remake.
i love those ruby and emerald weapon images, rewatched
it gives me a Highlander blade runner vibes, love it
Cloud looks f**king awesome O_O
I would totally watch a movie that just went full on 80s nostalgia without any irony.
I don’t know what made people start doing these, but I love it

Ok, but Safer Sephiroth looks absolutely terrifying to me
Bro this sounds incredible!
No Vincent? Would love to know what he’d look like in this era.
2:24 THIS. Frame it.
I am so fascinated by this...
This is amazing, would love to see Final Fantasy 8 like this
1:04 They leave Midgar, only to find a semi technologically advanced civilization with lots of medieval ruins of a much older world.
I kinda dig making Cloud a leather jacket wearing biker with a mullet. I mean it's wrong on every level, but somehow it fits.
Now do Final Fantasy IX as an 80s Dark Fantasy movie!
Yeah, that would be awesome.
Hojo over here looking like Christopher Lloyd
This shit is legit more 80's than the 80's in it's 80'sness!! This is beyond awesome!
It's shows that everything we make is a combination of what was created, will be and reality and together can reflect everything we create. Wow.
Really impressive!

Movies That got Mixed into FF 7 : Highlander, Dark City, Dune and some military movie or Mortal Combat.
This just proves how big of a scope a true life action feature film of FF7 it would be.
Cloud actually looks really fucking cool in this
Oh my god what did I just see?
This isn't the past, this is the future of filmmaking
President Shinra looks like a grizzled cop who just blasted an entire drug den
0:12 That Barrett looks dope AF
1:36- Barrett looks like a younger, broader-chinned Don Cheadle. And I would love to see how that casting choice works.

Being the 80s.... Both seem believable.
Definitely both.
The 80s was a weird time.
This ai stuff is just amazing. How the hell is this possible
i like that Red has six legs lol
This is insanely good.
Every I look, I see Michael Beahn (aka Kyle Reese / Dwayne Hicks). And I'm cool with that.
This really gives off Blade Runner vibes.
This is amazing, I want more!!
I appreciate that even the guy that uploaded this doesnt know who the f some of these are supposed to be
0:53 RED has six legs!
I like how Red is just straight up a dog
This is the best render I’ve seen so far wow! I would love to see you do more FF7 and try some FF15.
Need this for FF8 too
Now I kinda wanna see a live action FFVII movie done in this style
Sapphire weapon looks like Perfect Chaos.
Cait Sith is a straight fever dream nightmare
This feels like a steampunk blade runner but they got Sephiroth from the side 80s dark fantasy movie set.
One day the ai will be able to make full movies.

Interesting. I liked Jenova's look and I can see that for a film of the time. I'm sad there was no Vincent, though.
I love it. I feel like we are watching a Soviet production of FF7
