We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

How are the elderberries doing?.....We took some local cuttings and put them in jars...they started to bud out in the house but after a month or better none are growing roots and all the buds died and dried?...are we missing something or do we just need to wait longer?? Keep up the great work guys!!!!

I don’t know if you will get this, but I did order cutting from river hills harvest and two cuttings didn’t take out of six that I ordered. One had little white worms the other didn’t root at all. -Did the two inches thing-all have the same soil. It is nearly impossible to call anyone from RHH about it. Would you be able to help at all?

I have been purchasing Elderberry Juice from this man since you first introduced him and his farm online here.... I buy four bottles at a time 2 each of the throat coat and the plain Elderberry Juice (both concentrated) I started taking it everyday during the winter months and more each day if I start getting a sore throat or feel like I'm coming down with a cold/flu. In addition to the Elderberry Juice - I also take Zinc 50mg each day... so far I have not come down with any cold or flu.... Thank you so much for sharing this man's work and the benefits of the Elderberry

I appreciate you guys so much. I watched the 1st elderberry video and put in my order for plants and trees. Wouldn't ya know, our juices and medicines come in just in time for the grands coming home with sniffles. I end up being called a great NaNa because thanks to River Hills I was able to popped out the elderberry medicine and had everyone over the sniffles within days. Such a great tip about planting elderberries around the chicken coop. Bird Flu is nothing to discount and being able to do a few minutes work to protect the chickens is just fantastic. Our world is so fascinating.

Luv to watch you people. I’ve been binge watching for weeks, being grounded with a hernia. We had a lot of Elderberries in the park here in the North of Amsterdam until the green-service started to cut them down. Our surbubian garden is way to small for either chicken or Elderberry. But love all the wisdom that you folks are sharing.

I ordered cuttings from his company 3 years ago. 3 months ago I transplanted them in a raised bed under shade . this is their first year flowering.
When I got them 3 years ago I put them in water to root for a couple months then into soil in 5 gallon pots.
Last winter I pruned them and have 20 more plants from the cuttings . They are doing great!

I received my Adams cuttings and juice right after you last interview with Terry. The juice is awesome. It's the first time I have ever tasted it. I add it to kombucha and it's great! I immediately put the cuttings in water and within a week they were on their way. I live in Southern California and we have had a spate of hot weather. I am not going to rely on that lasting, so I am going to wait until the cuttings have a nice root system on them before I put them in the ground. Thanks guys for the great exposure to elderberry.

Thanks! I've watched 3 elderberry vids this morning and yours by far is the most info packed. I'm going out to harvest canes right now. I've been picking for years now I'm growing! Do you have any idea which variety grows in NE WA? (Edit) I just looked up my elderberries are sambucus nigra ssp. The Blue Elderberry.

Stacy, I don't know if you'll see this comment, as I just found this video three years after you posted it, but Thank You! I only learned about the benefits of elderberry in the past year (COVID) and now I have gotten some cuttings and needed to know whether to put them in water or plant them directly in the soil. This video is very helpful, and I'm going to go watch the other one you referenced at the end, too. Thanks!

I'll have to get on the website and get some cuttings! When Terry gave his presentation at Lehman's everyone snapped those cuttings up so fast that there was nothing left. It still amazes me that you can shove a stick in the ground and it starts to grow.

Sooo, he mentions treating the fruit trees with an oil too - can you explain how to treat a small orchard?? We need some help. We inherited apple & pear trees and they are so diseased that very little fruit is useable.

I got 3 ranch elderberry cuttings in the ground today just like you showed in this video. I was able to use free dried cut grass as mulch. I got the elderberry cuttings at a scion exchange earlier in late winter.

My first elderberry came up as a volunteer right next to my chicken coop. Now they come up along fence lines (thank you, birdies!) and Im transplanting them to make an elder orchard.

I have been watching and rewatching videos about elderberry, hadnt seen this one yet. Ive started making my husband take elderberry. He is not into healthy anything! I have gotten him to drink water from the birkey and drink less pop. Baby steps. I want to add elderberry to my garden soon.
