I polished to a mirror shine the the plunger cavity and the surface area that travels the entire drop. Getting anywhere from .1 to dead nutz, no more, no less now. Mostly using CFE .223 or BLC-2. Pretty happy with it. For the money there is no reason Mark 7 couldn't give us a micro dial on these units! I'm going to get some sort of vibrating device to strap on to the unit next. Also I feel as though the arms should go back to the 2 style units the use to use as the is a lot of slop on the units when I was testing in slow motion on and off the machine.
Excellent video! Thank you for showing both your results as well as how you tested. I've had nothing but problems with my Mark7 powder measure, which came with my Apex 10. This includes powder spillage as well. I stoppped using it, but maybe I'll clean it up and try it again. In your opinion, what is the best powder thrower you've measured?
Yeah! I didn't think of that, but hopefully you're not getting TOO many clumps of powder, because that would indicate your powder is coming into contact with a lot of moisture.
You need to clean all the internals of a powder measure before first using it because they ship with oils and rust preventers in them from the factory. I did clean this one before I started, but turns out I missed some spots I suppose, so I had to clean it a second time.
Doing the people’s work, thank you sir for these tests!
Great video

Very nice! I would like to see your setup and mods!
How did you polish it? What did you use?

That strainer in the measure would be useful for clumps of powder, breaking them up or catching them.

I wonder how precise this would be with something like N150?
It’s been my experience that stick powders just don’t get along with very well with this type of powder measure. It’s just the law of physics haha
What does it mean exactly you cleaned it? And what exactly do you think changed afterwards inside the funnel or the mechanics?

is it possible to use this mechanical dispenser with a Lee Classic Turret?
Yes, it would work in any press that takes standard 7/8x14 threaded dies.
