We've been beatin the crud out of this mid torque We grab for this over most of the larger and red ones we have in the shop Lots of power in a compact size
I’ve got this impact when they had the buy a tool get a 4/8 amp hour free deal. Going from 2.5 amp hour to 4 is a game changer. An awesome tool and very smooth.
Not a mechanic but ive done plenty of diy jobs with this mid torque. I havent met a lug it couldnt remove, im not changing tires on anything huge tho. Love it
The 18v half inch impact is carried around with me everywhere. Basically never sees less than full chooch Im stoked you dig the tool man! That 36v would be nice, but I have knocked several axle nuts loose with the 18v version. Running the nuts back on and increasing torque on a torque wrench said 18v gets ya to just about 170 ft lbs. With a chrome vanadium socket, cuz ya gotta! Pretty dang impressive for 18v. I bet that 36v one aint even feeling like shes working hard at all.
Own both 1/2 & 3/4 high torques and the mid torque 1/2. They are talked down on a lot but they are 💯💪 imo best part they can be ran corded and cordless. Don’t forget water and dust resistant cant beat it
Yes!!! They’re Great tools. I think there’s still trying to catch up from changing their name from Hitachi. People don’t realize the quality of these tools. 👍
I’m starting my own welding buisness and I’m getting into the 36v line just got a recip saw yesterday, would you recommend I just get the larger 1/2” or can you not really tell a difference. 189 vs 260 at tool barn with a bat and charger
It depends. If you need to get into small areas the mid torque is great and has lots of power. I use it at work now and it’s been just fine plus it’s lighter. But if size doesn’t matter and you need as much torque as possible the bigger one is amazingly powerful. I’m shocked at what it could remove. Both are great tools.
Also, I don’t know much about tool barn. Be careful if you haven’t gotten tools from there before. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. Just a heads up.
@@AndyTheXTech I’ll probably go with the kid torque for now as I mostly do the welding on vehicles and get the 3/4 when I get into heavier duty trucks. And yeah toolbarn has good reviews so hopefully it goes through smooth. I’m looking at getting the 36v drill as well as the bandsaw
What I don't understand is why do you have to hose it.. because once the device dries from the inside no matter how high quality it is it's already ruined and it makes a sound that he was never before there.
Hikoki will have tested it far far harshly so a bit of a splash with a hose is not going to do much. There's videos of it being fully submerged in water
Great video If North America had access to the full hikoki line instead of having to wait until a tool is a year old before ever hearing of it…. Look at the date on your wrench & I’ll bet it’s at minimum a year or maybe even two years old because it takes 6 months for assessing Japanese market reception and to judge if there is even enough demand and profit in it after rebranding and shipping them here and that excel spreadsheet roi bureaucracy cripples their growth or MHPT as a brand would have had been much more broadly accepted and have gained the deserved but much bigger Yankee & Canuck following in the past few years than they have and a prime example is IMO The wr36de because it is the best jack of all trades wrench I’ve used, big enough to break anything most people run into daily free yet still a carry-able, and durable ass impact wrench that has my 2960 collecting dust and at a price of 189$ and its 199 with a battery when it goes on sale and so it’s been my recommendation the past 12-18 months for shade tree mechanics doing a lot of suspension and brake type repair work
Thanks! Good information. Ya I really like this tool and all my other metabo HPT tools I have. Great quality. Definitely underrated here in the US most of my friends have never heard of them.
Cool review! I love that you soaked the thing down. That is an impressive impact!
Ya man it was fun! Thanks for checking it out! 😁👍

Did they ask you to send it back after doing a review?
Nope. There is many companies sending me products to review for free.

Ok it still works fine.

Off topic and my apologies. Does Metabo make one in 3/8" drive? Can't seem to find one.
They do a 3/8 but it's 18v not 36v however if you have their multivolt battery you can use it with both 36 and 18v tools
