DRAG RACING A VAUXHALL VX220 | The Scotch Tape - Episode 1

Hi Folks, welcome to episode 1 of a seven episode series in which my brother and I tour around Scotland in a Vauxhall VX220, exploring history, car culture and having a great time. In today’s episode we took our VX220 drag racing to find out whether it could outrun a Lamborghini over the quarter mile. I hope you enjoy the episode.

I'm an American and the VX220/Speedster has always been one of my favorite cars. Wish I didn't have to wait 25 years to import one.
I've kept up with prices for these and I could be wrong but they seem to have actually gone up a little over the last few years.

About the heater... at least at lower speeds and higher revs, you don't really need it. After all the car has got a nice, big neck heater built in just behind the seats. :-D

My calculations say 13.7-1.5 for the passenger-0.3 for the camera and extra, -0.7reaction time =11.2s
But 1/10 per 10pounds of weight cannot apply to any car. Lighter cars have a higher wind resistance fraction over the power for the same hp/t ratio unless they are extremely aerodynamic
Your car has around 290 hp/t while gallardo has 297 so they are comparable but gallardo spyder has 540hp and it copes better with air drag so your car is indeed slightly below the gallardo (12.1s) and 12.7 is fairly accurate

I’ve added induction cooling for brakes, improved brake discs and pads, limited slip diff

Great video ,for drag racing wise you took into account your weight but you didn't take into account that your both in the car so should of been both your weight together then the fuel etc
