  • The aglaonema rotundum hails from Northern part of Sumatra in Indonesia. With striking electrifying pink vein and dark green leaves, this plant is easy to grow if you get the growing conditions right. This is why I set out to share care tips for this aglaonema. I used a sick and unsightly specimen to show you how I rehab it and turned into many plants in the end using water and soil propagation. This episode is satisfying to watch to the very end!

    Hey Sean, I want to appreciate the amount of hardwork you put in these propagation videos. I cannot tell if there is anyone else on this platform who helps the viewers with propagation updates as well but yours is the most helpful. You might already have heard this but if not, know that you're a gem for us plant parents and this community.

    Hi Sean, I hope you are doing well 😊 I just want to say that your plant care and propagation is my favorite type of videos. I think this is what sets you apart from other plant RUclipsrs, aside from your sense of humor ofcourse 😉 It’s very useful and informative and realistic. I know you mentioned that you don’t get the same views as before, but I hope you don’t stop making quality videos like this. More power to you!!! 🥇

    Seaaaaaaan!!!
    I'm SOOOO happy you did a video on THIS specific Ag!! They are REALLY hard to find in the USA. I've had mine for almost a year. It's not as easy to care for as all my other Ags. It had 6 leaves when I got it, immediately dropped 3 of them and stayed dormant for several months. I put it in a ziplock bag about a month ago and it's finally sprouted it's first leaf with me. I've been too scared to propagate it so I'm so happy to see this video. When I feel it's more established I'll be ready to propagate it. I'd cry for days if I lost this plant, it's so striking!!

      Whoaaaa… thanks for the share. They actually dont ship too well from what I heard… maybe the best way to rehabilitate is to propagate them and let them adapt to your environment

I will chop it in half and water prop the top cutting. Thanks for your educational material. I enjoyed your video as always.

    I fell in love with this plant when you first introduced it a couple years ago and I finally find a local collector that sells it. I got a stem with two leaves and there is no growth to me. The leaves fell and I only got a clean stem with a frozen shoot. I am tempting to chop the stems and do the propagation after seeing this video.

    I've been watching your videos for quite a while and i must say, i'm very impressed with your dedication & devotion to houseplants Sean.
    I wish you can and will help introduce and bring new market for all beautiful and astonishing aglaonemas hybrids from our beloved country that has always been out of the western part of the world's radar.
    I can not reccomend enuf beautiful hybrids that are worthy of being feature in your channel cause therw are simply so many of them, such as the magnificent Golden Hope (which are one of decendant from Rotundum) and the astonishing Widuri Putih Tulang Merah (Witurah). Both are masterpiece from Sir Greg H which we are so proud of.
    Looking forward where does this path will take you Sean, keep up the good work, and we're proud of you!! 🇲🇨

      Thank you. Yes it puzzles me why aglaonemas are not in the supply and demand chain in western civilizations. I do get lots of views and comments from people who want them! No one bother to import them somehow.

    • @sylviedelyon4594
      @sylviedelyon4594 11 месяцев назад

      A lot of us plant lovers in the West wish they could buy from you because aglaonemas come in so many beautiful varieties but all we can find are the same ordinary ones. We can order from producers in Indonesia but the shipping fees are very high and inexplicably diverse from one seller to another. You also have to pray the customs don't make it all even more complicated and costly. So all we can hope for is for western big plant companies to start getting in touch with your producers and/or authorities so we can at last buy some of the magnificent hybrids we dream of.

    • @dharmaiskandar536
      @dharmaiskandar536 11 месяцев назад

      It's simply the case of supply and demand. The more demands for this kind of exotic hybrids the more likely it will happen in the future.
      And honestly, as the only one (atleast i don't find anyone else) English speaking plant youtuber from Indonesia, i hope Sean can help drawing more attentions to this lovely Aglaonemas.

    • @sylviedelyon4594

      @@dharmaiskandar536 I wish it would work but Sean has been drawing attention to aglaonemas for quite a while and nothing has changed. For some reason aglaonemas are not trendy like philodendrons, hoyas or begonias and I can't think why. Most aroids we find in continental Europe come from the Netherlands who import them from South-East Asia. I'll try asking the e-shop I buy from why they're so little interested in aglaonemas.

    but sorry Sean, this one is NOT Aglaonema rotundum (endemic species from Aceh&North Sumatra).
