Actually, Block Man's pun _"You're just another brick in the wall"_ is a reference to Pink Floyd's album *The Wall,* where that line is used in a song, talking about how people are sheep or "bricks" in a wall, part of the system.
Block Man is saying Mega Man is a sheep and not acting on his own.
Or like I mean it could actually just be a pun.
MegaMan has referenced bands before so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this were deliberate

Yep I'd bet we will never see the transition between Classic and X. The series never took its story that seriously until X4 and didn't try to tell a cohesive narrative til Zero.
We know exactly what happened between the X and Zero series but even that doesn't lock them out of future X games. Making an Elf Wars game would do that. Zero is the only mainline series with a definitive ending for better or worse and I'd bet it stays that way even if X and ZX get new games. Unless we actually get Legends 3 as it was meant to be an ending.

Plus they kinda already did that with Rockman The Power Battle and Rockman The Power Fighters.
Yeah they don't need to explore the bridge between Classic and X. Because you'd need to explain why _all robot masters are missing!_
MM7 and MM9 shows us that all the robot masters will either be shut down and be part of the robot museum or will be scrapped. They’re outdated technology in 21XX.
It took me a while to realise that the massive grinding gears that chase you in Wily 2 are actually an adaptation of Torch Man's fire wall gimmick. Which is kinda nice!
According to the character bios, Tundra Man was actually created by Dr. Cossack from Mega Man 4. I love that kind of attention to continuity.

Holy crap, you are certainly underrated. I’m disappointed that not enough people know about you because your content is really good. Keep up the good work!
I should mention that the higher ups at capcom really had no interest in continuing Megaman. By the 2010's, the games of any megaman series stopped selling very well. Probably because people were taking the constant megaman releases for granted and just assumed that they will keep making megaman games even if they don't buy them. The only reason the franchise kept going when it did was because of Keji Inifune and his position on the corporate ladder. Once he left, the other higher ups had no reason to continue the other megaman projects. The only reason they green lit Megaman 11 was because of the high sales of the classic legacy collections.
So they actually had a grudge against megaman and the maker of megaman leaving was the opportunity to stop making megaman games forever?

Watching this again two years later and having finished it, I completely agree with everything said.
Another interesting X tie-in: The Awakening Chip functions like the standard Infinite Ammo perk of a lot of armors X gets.
The thig I love from this latest game are the enemies. They’re so cute, I mean look at that welding machine at 15:48 lol, so cool.
It’s funny that the X and Z series proved that Light’s idea was indeed wrong. Maverick virus or not it definitely wasn’t good to make super fighting robots able to decide their fate
Not true at all. Evil men corrupting the reploids for their own selfish HUMAN desires has nothing to do with the creation of powerful robots. Weil and Wily directly influenced the harmless robots and reploids as well as the Mother Elf to do their bidding and harm people. A tool can be used as a weapon, but that doesn't mean the creator of said tool is at fault or wrong for making it.

On the matter of Wily potentially being a robot, I feel it's pretty obvious he's not. Not... Entirely, anyway. He was clearly born human. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he's been slowly but surely augmenting himself with robotic parts all this time. Perhaps intending on one day taking down Rockman/Mega Man himself one day with his own bare hands? Or alternatively, it could be that he fears him, knowing full well that his creations aren't able to save him if Rockman/Mega Man ever goes rogue and generates a bloodlust. This fear could be prompting him to prepare ahead of time by armoring himself up.

Capcom: "Ok megaman fans, it's time for you obligatory vague story that doesn't tie into any part of the timeline" MM Fans: "Zero arc... please." BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, this was a real baller of a game, and I'm very impressed and thankful for the work and detail put into it. My favorite in the series.

1:13 Maybe someone already pointed out... Inafune is NOT THE CREATOR of the franchise, he is the creator of Zero if anything.
The Bolt Catcher being unlocked on Saturdays is stupid, but it's quick and easy to unlock. The Life Catcher, on the other hand, is huge pain to unlock, requiring you to get 10 Game Overs, which is a bare minimum of 20 deaths, just so that you can get more health drops so that you won't die. I'd rather have the Bolt Catcher to be able to buy all the Lives, E Tanks and W Tanks that I can carry.
man, i've lost my megaman chops because this game is hard. harder the i remember any of the original run being. and waayyy harder then the x games. still loving it, but that 10 year wait and the series drifting into the background really made returning for this game seriously difficult. that part with the conveyer belts and blocks from block mans stage had me ready to break my controller the first few times. once i got the hang of the speed gear it was less so, but i'd be lying if i said it didn't take some effort learning to shift into speed gear when needed. was trying to do it with no help for an embarrassingly long time.
Light Correction. Lights desire for robots with independent thought results in the robot masters. Independent thought is not free will, just the ability to logically think for themselves and make decisions on the fly without instruction. Things like assisting someone with their bags even if that isn't their primary directive for example.
You know what would've been terrifying?
If a secret boss or the final boss was Zero, and Light used that halfway-point monologue to allude to X or something.

I don't really see the need to aggressively foreshadow MegaMan X cause I mean yeah they are on the same timelines but it's not like Dr. Light is just kinda go "OH YEAH WILY LOOK AT MY NEW BLUE BOY" when the story isn't about MegaMan X, it's about MegaMan.

X:blue gear speed x is a fast robot and you could dash around at high speeds
Zero:red gear power zero is a really powerful robot that can crush foes beneath his feet
Block man was supposed to be the poster boy but fuse man stole the spotlight with fans.

My favorite thing about this game, and something I hope comes back for any future X or Non-X megaman games is the visual changes when you switch to a weapon.
I really liked this game, but it’s mostly because it felt more like the X games than the classic games. I’m not a huge fan of classic Megaman. Not enough plot and they feel too short.
Would’ve been hype to see zero, but oh well can’t have everything
Mm11 was amazing. My only gripes: music is forgettable (except Fuseman that shits amazing) and it's just way way way too short

About 10&11 implying that Wily's a robot, maybe he already is. Maybe the real Wily died at the end of 3. Wily had to upload his consciousness into a computer at some point; maybe he already did.

The tie in was in roboenza. Light started working on X as a robot immune to viruses. As a rebuttal wily made zero and had him carry the zero virus.
We don't know why zero was made. All we know it wasnt to kill classic.
Robot masters were shown to be deactivated and put in museums so its theorized that rock was deactivated
Where does this theory that Rock just gets deactivated come from any way. I mean MM2 on gameboy made it pretty clear that future Megaman is destined to be kidnapped by past Wily, turned into Quint and than being destroyed by his own past self.

I think the last classic game that leads to X. I think it would be cool if the last classic games ends with the death of mega man at the hands of Zero.
i would've preferred 2d sprites with the same quality of X4's animation and pixel-work. im sick of 3d. it's lazy.
The only way the series could end properly IMO is if Duo and the alien robots return.

Why would you think they will connect the series together? I truly don't think we are ever going to get the game that connect Classic to X, X to Zero, Zero to ZX and never EVER ZX to Legends (never will get anything Legend related). If they were to do any of these then it will be really hard to make more of those games without having to do prequels or something

There is a new game in development since 2019, this was confirmed by 11's producer (who is now the series producer) after 11 came out. They're just no longer making yearly games, since yearly releases heavily affected sales in the 2000s, and it's what lead to the 8 year hiatus.

Honestly, I didn't much like the shop in 8, only because while they were permanent upgrades, you either can't get all of them or swap out any you didn't want that you thought you would. Plus it was just odd for me to find out too little too late on me not getting all the upgrades and I ended up with leftover bolts and items still in the shop that I couldn't get, very annoying, and I would say even more so if you have ocd or want 100% completion.

Yeah, there is only 40 Bolts in total you can get, and everything added up (17 upgrades) costs 89 bolts:

You can argue this makes you think strategically, but as a first time player that never played 8 and did it for the first time on the Legacy Collection and didnt find out until I started it up (and i think REstarted it) because there is no indication from the game beforehand when you start buying upgrades (so I would have imagined this greatly pissed people off when they first started up & finished 8 unless it's stated in the old manual), this severely soured my experience with 8, on top of the overly cartoony aesthetic and terrible voice acting. I'm not gonna knock the voice acting because it was back in the day when voice direction was abysmal across the board, and I'm not saying I don't like a cartoony look, but as far as the art design, it just felt like it was going over the top for me. Everything was too squishy & the colors were overtly vibrant (felt like i was staring at a neon sign and "TT GO!" already made me be annoyed at that art direction aesthetic)
Still no Megaman 11 DLC, not that I was expecting any. Also no Megaman 12 or Megaman X9 yet at the time of posting this comment. July 8, 2021 anyway.
There is a new game in development, this was confirmed a while ago. We don't know what it is, though.

I guess the Mighty No. 9 failure incentized Capcom to develop Mega Man 11. Just like Dragon Ball Evolution motivated Toriyama to produce the newest Dragon Ball Super movies and anime.

I love this review. I really do not like this game but I enjoy watching your passion for it and other Mega Man games. The ending of the vid hasn't aged well but hopefully we get a follow up MM12 or something at some point. Glad to see the MM love.
I didn't like the music because it's not what I look for in a Mega Man game. What I want is really catchy music like 1-4. The only music I found memorable and therefore interesting was any time the main theme played. Compare the robot master themes of the 1st 4 games like Cut Man, Air Man, Snake Man, and Dust Man to any of the ones in this, and catchyness difference is stark. These are not tunes I'm gonna be humming to myself and wanting to download onto my computer to listen to over and over again.
I think it should be mandatory for any classic megaman game to have an alternate, 8-bit soundtrack you can activate
To each their own, maybe one day this review will look a bit dated or maybe this is the future of the franchise. I just think that megaman 11 is the "dragon ball super" of the franchise, and the titled of "a revival done right", well- Megaman 9 nailed it absolutely while 10 and 11 fall short for different reasons.

I know you love Johnny, and I've been a fan of him for years before I discovered you...but your reviews are better. His old ones are GREAT, but his reviews from the past year and a half are irritating and difficult for me to sit through.
X is a different character, but it is improved version of rockman.
11 isn't even a sequel, it's a restart of everything, rockman Himself suddenly need to be rebuild to be the robot who battle
