Easy mainoo is most like a Paul scholes IMO
he's not. Scholes close and long passing range was unreal. his football IQ off the charts.
he's actually closest to modric in many aspects. how small he is yet how difficult to get off the ball. how he dribbles and finds routes out of mad space. the controlled rather than power of his finishes. the overall composure.
he'll do well to reach modric levels but the potential is absolutely there. he just turned 19... staggering talent. it will be depend on lots of things. coaching, hardwork, reaction to big money contracts, injuries etc etc he's going to be a top class cm at very least

I think he's different to Scholes. schools IQ was insane and his passing range especially long unreal. mainoo is a very good passer especially short but doesn't have that range like Scholes. I think mainoo is a better ball carrier and dribbles tha Scholes.. low to the ground gliding like modric. Scholes also has a brilliant long shot with power... mainoo's finishing is much more like modrics placements. I think he more in the mold of of a modric in that he's a small dynamic b2b rather than Scholes who started as a goal scoring mid and ended as a deep laying playmaker a xavi pirlo type of figure. mainoo is not that
