The percussionist you said looked like Phil Collins is the great Ray Cooper. He's played and performed with many bands and artists over the years including Mark, Eric, Elton John and Paul McCartney. A concert to check out is Music For Montserrat from the Royal Albert Hall. It features all of these guys amongst others and includes Mark and Eric performing the slow version of Layla together and the two of them rocking Money For Nothing with Sting plus Phil Collins on the drums and Ray on a tambourine. It's such a fun performance with members of the orchestra and choir bopping away in the background.
You definitely need to check out the other song Dire Straits and Eric Clapton performed together at this concert immediately before this one, I Think I Love You Too Much. Mark and Eric trading solos on a fantastic blues number is exquisite. Unfortunately the song never made it onto either a Dire Straits album or a Notting Hillbillies one (despite Mark performing it with them too). The Jeff Healey Band did record a cover for their Hell To Pay album, with Mark contributing second guitar and backing vocals.
I’ll look into that too! Live concerts like that where you have such great, heavy hitting guitarists are always so fantastic and the music can’t be replicated.
The guy he sings about with the jet airplane is Elton John. lol Saw Dire Straights at Live Aid but in Philly at JFK Stadium on one of the first ever "big screens." because they were in Wembley. The opening act for that whole 2 continent concert was the Hooters. It was like at 9am but there was 100 thousand people in that old stadium. They are Philly guys and became prolific song writers after their quick and instant fame as a band. When you have the time , check out "All You Zombies." Awesome. Crank it up and enjoy. Maybe you could cover that? Just saying.

Thank you for telling me! I will definitely check out that concert!

First saw you when you were a young teenager at The World Famous Buckingham Blues Bar. Continued success to you.
Thank you very much!
Another great reaction video! 👏🏻
Thank you!
It's not Phil Collins but Claptons percussionist Ray Cooper.
Yes! I found that out later.
Love the pink suit. You could rock that look.
