#4 Florida vs #2 Oklahoma (AMAZING!) | Winner To WCWS Finals | 2024 College Softball Highlights

- Florida Softball and Oklahoma Softball played an elimination game in the 2024 Women's College World Series. The winner would advance to play Texas in the WCWS Finals, which is a best of 3 series that determines the National Champion.

The best part of my work as a RUclipsr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other RUclipsrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

@@coachjody1971 Rothrock was certainly a workhorse this year for Florida. She led the nation in innings pitched in 2024.
Yea she a stud but you have to give Oklahoma a different look even if it's couple of innings Oklahoma batters looked at rothrock 9 time's too good of a team they will figure it out im just saying 280 pitches Oklahoma got to see and make adjustments that lost is on HC just my opinion I think he didn't want to hurt rothrock feelings

Texas has a much better pitching staff than Florida that's why there the #1 team in the country. Oklahoma only has one good pitcher the others suck. And after throwing a 170 pitches yesterday she won't be pitching 3 days in a row Florida ate up there other pitchers may sucks and that other lefty let up 3bombs.

good stuff if you're a sooner fan, gators were about as tough as it gets, a good test for o.u. avery hodge doing a great job filling in for alynah torres, and how about freshman ella parker? 2 run homer and the hit that tied it up, of course superstar jayda, offense, defense. stellar comeback, GO GET TEXAS!

@@5.0king32 No, Ella Parker is correct. While Cydney hit a 2 run homer in the 4th, Ella also hit a 2 run homer in the 1st. And OP specifically mentioned "the hit that tied it up" which was Ella.

Watched this twice already. Great game!
it makes me swell up with tears, its so good. Much better to watch in retrospect. At the time i was sweaty nervous mess until Maxwell got under control. SO good. The grit and determination to win for each other is unequalled. They are inspirational.

Texas have not scored more than two runs on the Sooners in all four games they have faced. May seems to have their number also, I watched the Big12 championship today to see how it went and Maxwell and May teamed up and it was hard for texas. plus OU make them nervous and they make lots of errors. lets hope that still happens. But i understand Texas will be super confident this yr. But they underestimate OU's grit and determination.

Great game. Now it’s time for OU/TX for the title.
OU played Texas four times. Texas won two come from behind games 2-1 in Austin. OU won in Austin 5-2 and then at Devon Park in OKC for the conference tournament title 5-1. Combining regular season and conference tournament games, both had identical records against Big 12 foes. Both have one NCAA tournament loss, one come from behind win in elimination to the team that beat them, and one 1-0 win in NCAAs. OU has one less overall loss but Texas is first and OU second in RPI due to tougher schedule. Their offensive numbers are almost identical. OU’s team era is lower, but both are good. This is a very even matchup.
Walton should of took the pitcher out in the 6th to mix things up. Rothrock was running out of gas pitching the day before . She wasn't even throwing hard I guarantee if they put a righty in they would of won, that's on him .she had nothing left. Don't get me wrong she pitched good but mix it up, give a different look .
Florida has a great team that put the fear in OU's eyes , I think that next year they will e a force to reckon with . tomorrow let the fun egin .

When is softball going to get smart and move the fences, pitcher's mound and bases back. It is the only sport where you play on the same size field/court from 9 years old and up

200 foot fences for college athletes is a bit small. Our middle school teams play on bigger fields
