      Why are you denying what everybody in the world know about Aisha? ..
      Aisha had sex with Muhammad when she was 9 (moon years, she was actually younger), as Aisha said in Hadith Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:
      Narrated 'Aisha:
      that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when
      she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).
      Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65:
      Narrated 'Aisha:
      that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when
      she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for
      nine years (i.e. till his death)." what you know of the Quran (by heart)'
      Now is the time to vommit, don't you think?

      According to islam, virgins cannot object if parents wants to marry them away, so your comment is yes another atempt to whitewash islam.. According to Qur'an 65:4, there is no lower limit to when to marry a girl..It has absolutely nothing to do with psychological maturity, yet another attempt to whitewash islam. No matter if a girl is married or not, it is pedophilia to have sex with them, and islam position on this is digusting.
      You even admit to agree on this issue, which is even more disgisting

    The way the room is situated it is an elongated room with two large niches in one of the elongated walls. Sh. Hamza is sitting directly in front of the niche where the men are sitting (about 8 feet back) and the sisters are sitting in the other niche. The short wall between each niche separates the men from the women. Envision it like a large but shallow cursive W. Both can see the speaker. Probably more information than what you needed! :)

    Quoted from the webpage I shared above (Sunnipath) "Female circumcision is itself obligatory in the Shafi school [but] it does NOT call for the removal of the clitoris (badhr) but rather a slight trimming of it (khafad) to increase sexual pleasure. If the removal of the clitoris was intended the word badhr would've been used alone. Since the correct practice has become so lost & has deviated in many cultures to gross mutilation many opt to take the Hanbali or Hanafi dispensation..." (Continued)

    In order to claim that something is "sexist", one must first comprehensively understand the physiological makeup of both genders, what are the physical capabilities, the mental dexterity, how men and women conceive and react differently to events, how they communicate, etc.
    Do we know anyone who has this kind of knowledge?
    Because for someone to suggest that Women and Men should all be treated exactly the same in all aspects has made a very hasty, superficial judgement.

    • @roberthannah7983
      @roberthannah7983 4 года назад

      Relate to people in the workplace based on their merits and abilities, not because of their gender. Even if there are differences on an overall statistical basis (and this may be due to socialization and upbringing), that says nothing about the capabilities of an individual. For example, while few women enter engineering, my female cousin is an excellent engineer. Islamic assertions that "men are the keepers of women" is not appropriate in modern society.

    Are you talking about the meeting he had with Bush in the oval office days after 9/11? That's called "da'wah". He gave him a Qur'an and was a voice for American Muslims to tell George Bush to his face that Islam absolutely condemns the actions of 9/11. Do you?? Stop listening to the rumors. Many Muslims were emotional and got angry when they heard Hamza met with Bush and they automatically drew conclusions gossiped to no end. Where is your EVIDENCE that he "advised Bush to attack Afghanistan"?

    Wikipedia cites many Islamic sources that condemn female circumcision. Search for "Religious views on female genital mutilation" on Wikipedia: Female circumcision "is practiced by many Sunni Muslims although it has a controversial religious basis in Islam, and is mainly derived from culture. Cultural and religious intertwining caused the incorrect belief that female circumcision is related to the religion of Islam."

    I can tell you at the same time, my friend who is a girl & is Muslim is THE best to discuss Islam. Your arguement holds not value or ground with that statement. You must look into it yourself. The book is for YOU to read, not someone else from a culture that abused the system because they weren't taught it properly or treated it right. Man used & abused the book to make it their advantage. But when you look at it as a whole, it's a system that works.

    You yourself quoted the dispute in your previous comment: "Some consider this hadith to be da'eef (weak) and therefore muhkhar (rejected), but others rely on it." If some republicans endorse Mitt Romney but a majority do not, you cannot say "The republicans endorse Mitt Romney". The fact is that the vast majority of Muslims do not view female circumcision (or whatever you want to call it) as obligatory or even recommended.

But it's hard to find them using this number system. Typically there should be 3 numbers: Volume, Book, Hadith number. As you can see he only uses two. If you would like to discuss, please reference or quote ONE hadith yourself. Let's do one at a time, please.

  • @IslamOnDemand
    @IslamOnDemand  12 лет назад +1

    Your quote shows the dispute over this text. So when you first said "Islam justifies" it you have to correct yourself and say instead "Certain schools of Islamic thought justify it". Regarding these schools, they define female circumcision in very particular terms that are MUCH DIFFERENT than how it's practiced today in places like Sudan. What you find in these places are CULTURAL practices that date back to pre-Islamic times that contradict the CORRECT way that causes no harm or mutilation.

  • @IslamOnDemand
    @IslamOnDemand  12 лет назад +1

    You're right, there is no such thing as a good mutilation. But the procedure described in the Sunni Path link I cited does NOT describe mutilation. It says the "slight trimming" of the clitoris. You are the deluded one if you EQUATE a "slight trimming" with "mutilation". What's TRULY mutilation is the COMPLETE or even PARTIAL removal of the clitoris and/or labia minora, or any other EXTREME procedure that VIOLATES the valid Islamic practice which preserves a woman's reproductive & sexual health.

  • @IslamOnDemand
    @IslamOnDemand  12 лет назад

    @MrChavre If shari'ah is dead, the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams would have never said this in 2008: "There's a place for finding what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law" and that shari'ah law in the UK "seems unavoidable". Although I highly doubt you'll watch it, the video on our channel called "Can Shari'ah Be Accommodated in the West?" elaborates on his points.

    The problem is when people like you make sweeping generalizations about a medical procedure that can take on many forms. Female circumcision evokes feelings of disgust among people who ASSUME the procedure necessitates the complete removal of the clitoris and labia minora, But this is NOT the case. The Sunni Path link I gave you before states the PROPER Islamic stance: "a SLIGHT trimming of [the clitoris] to increase sexual pleasure". How is a SLIGHT trimming "evil, disgusting, misogynistic"???

    • @ZelElz
      @ZelElz 6 лет назад +1

      It is not really a medical procedure, when it is done on religious premises. One should not alter the creation of Allah. Female genital mutilation IS evil and disgusting, no matter, how much they are cutting. When you are removing completely functional parts of the body, for no _medical_ reason, it is mutilation.
      One should not go and cut part of their children's body, just because they interpret their religion that way. IF someone wants to go under the knife, they should have full understanding about it, and give their permission, as an adult. Not to be some helpless child under the elders force.

      Its not to increase her sexual pleasure but its to take away her ability to pleasure. A women to have sexual pleasure is considered potentially harmful in islamic context. There is a fear that she will possibly cheat against her husband. Or some other zenaa' or masurbate herself .to avoid her having accusations they just cut her clit out as a child.

    It's because charity we know it now, is not law, only "individual" sense of kindness. Not everyone is willing. But when a law is set, everyone rich person must while the poor gain. A balance for human to grow. So you tell me that if it's a rediculous book? One’s intellect has to be applied in the understanding of the Book. This is something that the Quran itself has commanded us to follow at every step of life.

    For instance, in Al-Baqarah, Quran talks about spending in the way of Allah and how Satan motivates man into spending elsewhere for these worldly wishes. And then in the middle of this discussion, Allah says
    "But none will grasp the message except the men of intellect." (Quran 2:269)

    Your premise is that ALL female circumcision, no matter how LITTLE the clitorus is cut, is "mutilation" and "destroys a woman's life". I don't accept that premise. Yes, if too much is cut or it's done in a way that is harmful then it is FORBIDDEN in Islam, as anything that is harmful to the human body is forbidden, period. I want to live there but I need to be the kind of person that would fit well to your utopia, I have to do what you would ask. But I make mistakes, would you forgive my mistakes?

    Too many people on this comment thread think they are too great and worthy of judging others. Judgment is up to Allah. go try and be better Muslims instead of poking holes in everything, If you don't like it, take what's good and leave what's bad. That is the sunnah.

    I'm only 14:00 in so who knows? I may wind up being all pissed off about this but Shar'iah interests me because so many people are against it. I just wanted to check out the law about women I guess in Shar'iah and see if it's actually any more limiting than what the christian law says about women.

    @BoredToDistraction (3) Actually there is a comprehensive science of hadith methodology (centuries worth) that has determined which hadiths are authentic and which are not. The reality is that many have been passed down by people who were considered untrustworthy and many have been outright fabricated. Unfortunately, many orientalists use such hadiths to support their arguments. So we cannot simply ignore this science.

    Its a moot point in my mind because the hadith is weak which you acknowledge.

  • @IslamOnDemand
    @IslamOnDemand  12 лет назад +1

    You're not being fair in your logic. You say "some" republicans but you refuse to say "some" Muslims. By saying "Islam does justify" female circumcision you're saying it without qualification. You're saying all of Islam justifies it & hence all Muslims justify it. I will accept that SOME Muslims justify female circumcision or whatever you want to call it (mutilation, etc.). Can you admit that it's SOME Muslims and NOT all? And therefore it can be argued its NOT from CANONICAL Islamic teachings.

    Yeah, they're "brainwashed" by cultural norms that have been passed down through their families for ages. If this practice is part of Islam, why don't Western Muslims practice this in full force? Surely the hadith you quoted (which again is considered by many as weak) cannot be the text that "brainwashed" them. In this text the Prophet (P) is not mandating it or even recommending it. He seems to hear of a woman about to do it and simply says do it in such-and-such a way that is better for you.

    @BoredToDistraction (4) But these "details" are in dispute. Your premise is being challenged. YOU are CLAIMING he "committed horrendous crimes" by posting very DETAILED descriptions of his SUPPOSED crimes. Then you get defensive when I challenge you to provide proof by saying you will not argue the DETAILS! Very strange.

    Subhan' Allah, how easy it is to deceive the masses with simple video editing. How can you be 100% certain this is the original UNEDITED video? I remember watching this live & cannot recall this moment where Hamza Yusuf clapped at that point in Bush's speech. If he did I would have remembered it! It's very possible the clip of him nodding and clapping actually took place in a different part of the speech but was moved to the part you see in this video. This stuff is done all the time!

    @BoredToDistraction (5) Again, you are building your arguments on a premise to which I don't accept. Slow down sparky! You're jumping way ahead of yourself! I'm not trying to avoid the debate (I could have simply not replied if I wanted to do that). In reply to your comment I could say "What's wrong with Muhammad's behavior?" Do you see how we'll be going around in circles if we don't settle the first debate first?

    And, in this world there's is still plenty of space to contain more people. We as humans aren't using the space well enough & or helping each other enough because of individualism. If you were exceedingly poor & a Muslim helps you out at of charity also because the law of Zakat as mentioned before, you would be back on your feet. Isn't that a solution to the worlds problem?

    @BoredToDistraction I never suggested sex with a child is acceptable. I said consummation took place when she was NO LONGER a child. This begs the question, when does a child become an adult? Is it unreasonable to think different cultures/times/places in history answer this differently? 6th Century Arabia said PUBERTY which scientifically makes sense as the body is ready to reproduce. You continue to impose today's Western laws on others as if they're ABSOLUTE and UNIVERSAL.

  • @IslamOnDemand
    @IslamOnDemand  12 лет назад

    @BoredToDistraction Consummation did not take place until puberty, thus she was no longer a child. Not a stretch to accept that a culture half a world away of 1400 years ago would define a child in such a way. To judge all other civilizations against the modern Western standard of civilization is both narrow-minded and arrogant.

    @BoredToDistraction This is what I mean by arrogant. You think just because a civilization came AFTER another the latter is more civilized. While I agree people evolve & can learn from predecessors its not NECESSARILY the case that the latter are better. You're not seeing my point that CULTURAL NORMS differ between time & place & neither may be wrong within their culture's CONTEXT. For example marrying cousins: acceptable in many Eastern cultures but frowned on or despised largely in the West.

  • @AngelSammy
    @AngelSammy 12 лет назад

    Now we can accept that we don't need much of what it's saying because we know it now, yes we know but that was a result of the teachings from your parents & their parents mixed with society who most likely happen to be religious of some sort. The teachings are there & originated from the book, only we don't think it does because we didn't resort to the book in the first place. But our ancestors did, no doubt about it.

    @BoredToDistraction I've heard many tall tales before, but this one is completely new to me. Please provide a quote from an AUTHENTIC Islamic source to verify this story. And please don't copy-and-paste from some right-wing agenda-driven website. Go to the source and read it for yourself. Then share the data with me, including exact volume, chapter and verse numbers.

    @BoredToDistraction If you can't find it online then why are you referencing it??
    Who would invent all this if Muhammad was a good man?... Lies are not only born out of "invention" but ignorance as well. Example: Raiding caravans, a common accusation that ignores vital facts that contextualize the event. The goods being raided belonged to the raider (i.e. the Muslims were simply taking back their belongings that were stolen from them after they were expelled from Mecca).

      Ones commanded by god the other isnt. And all other forms of mutilation are discouraged.
