Recently got a huge deal on an Omen 14 Trascend and I gotta say, this laptop is out of this world. I previously used a Galaxy Book 2 Pro, a Lenovo T14, and some other laptops, nothing comes close to the Omen in build quality, ofc performance cannot be compared as my other models were way older. Amazing laptop so far, the only thing I'm missing on it is a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello.
Today I got quite the deal of a 4060 2024 G14 for a bit less than $1,300 for an open-box one in excellent/like-new condition, I think I got lucky as it looks pretty flawless so far! Don't even think the person who unboxed it touched the charger. There was a note saying they returned it since it didn't have what they were looking for. Seems like a pretty underrated way to save a bit of money.
@Ahmed-jv7oc 2023 is. 2024 isnt. I want to get 2024 primarily due to oled and way better speakers. Performance should be same though if anything slightly better on 2023.
Despite its flaws I prefer the 2024 G14 (tho G16 over the 14), but I did have an opportunity to test both and the keyboard in the Omen is better, it's very satisfying to type on.
I don't like the fact that it has that white outline... I like the g16 more, but the omen 14 was cheaper. Kept the G16 for now... not really sure if i will keep this one since i have a 2023 g18, but battery life and a bit of portability has been an issue. I do miss the keypad.
i wish we had such prices here in Lithuania, because HP omen costs 2200 euroes and Zephyrus - 3200 euroes so it's like no competition wich one to get :D and thats the lowest prices that i have been able to find for those particular laptops. I really want to buy a good performing pc for gaming on the lighter side but also for editing a ton of photos in lightroom and i think i have no other choice than to buy HP omen. Also i dont know if you had a 1tb or 2Tb variant of Omen but im considering 2Tb version for those 2200 euroes. Need your opinion on it and maybe some other models to recommend? (razer blade 14 is even higher priced than Zephyrus in my country)
I love my ASUS G14 2024, but it has the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS, 16GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive and the GTX 4060 GPU. I paid for the G14, after taxes, $1,711. The HP OMEN is on sale now and it has the Intel Ultra 9, 32GB RAM, 2TB Hard Drive, and a GTX 4070. The HP OMEN is on sale for $1,911 after taxes on HP’s website. I like to game but not much. I love the speakers on the G14. I use my laptop more for work productivity, light gaming through STEAM and I desire better battery life for video streaming and web surfing. I almost considered the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite laptop from Samsung, but I am afraid of Windows app compatibility with ARM processors. I am also afraid that STEAM will not work on a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. Should I pay the $200 more for the HP OMEN because of the 32GB RAM, 2TB Hard drive and GTX 4070 GPU? I see that the speakers as well as the Front Facing Camera are horrible on the HP OMEN. Should I switch to the HP OMEN because of the upgraded specs and lower price?
Really useful comparison review, I like this format. I was in the market for a laptop last week, I saw this review and leaned towards G14 until I found a great deal on Omen 14. $1050 for 185H, 32GB and 4070 in Ceramic White couldn't be beat, probably even with the upcoming Black Friday sales. If it weren't for that deal. I would've gotten the G14. I didn't mind the performance lost since I still have my desktop. Anyway, thank you for going over the two!
@@ronaldmcdonald6067huh. Did I not mention “I didn’t mind the performance lost since I still have my desktop.” Of course I knew the 4070 from the Omen is terrible compared to the G14. That’s one of the things this video pointed out 😂
Do you think the G14 Ryzen 9 + 4060 is still a lot better than the omen ultra 9 4060 ? since the power required for the GPU is lower i was wondering if it would even out the results. Got a big discount on an omen but i'm wondering if i should return it and wait for a G14 deal.
Sometimes, yea, they do. It depends on the situation. But many dishonest or simply misinformed/underinformed reviewers exist. But not all, there are good reviews out there too.
The G14 does keep Ryzen CPU wattage slightly higher 76W vs 64W on Omen 14 with Intel Ultra 9. Both reach thermal throttling, but G14 maintained higher wattage so I’d give it the win. I am talking in Cinebench. In games, they both are typically pretty good
@@GizmoSlipTech yeah, it’s just weird that it slipped through considering how techy you are, next unit of compute, they makes minipcs but also laptops, that’s what the chatter was referring to
@@PreDaToReLeaSeD probably slipped through because I have never been interested in owning one when a gaming laptop is a fully portable PC with a display and battery, so for me is much better

It's around thr same price no?

I really want to love the G14 but the usb 4 on 2024 does not support thunderbolt 3… and that’s a huge deal breaker… unless I have a faulty unit… 😅
2024 Zephyrus G14 w/ 16GB of RAM and a 4060 or Omen 14 w/ 32GB of RAM and a 4070? Same price, so I can’t decide.
Omen T14 with 4070 is more 👍🏼
