I wear neo overshoes. They have screw in picks. $120+ but I can wear sneakers in them in subzero temps I fish ALOT so well worth the dough my friends. Good job guys good vids!! Gonna hit sebego for some cusking this week. Be safe boys and keep up the footage. Another month we'll be trolling salmon out there!
It's definitely worth the trip. If you live far enough away, you should consider doing an overnight trip. Friday afternoon Saturday evening. Be sure to bring some stinky mackerel beef liver chicken livers or old dead bait for cusk if you stay overnight.
I know this is an older post. I use sheet metal screws, screwed into the soles of the boots. WORKS GREAT and cost less then a dollar. Still in the soles of my ice fishing boots years later. Never lost any. FWIW, Carl
Pine State Hunter yes I do. I’m actually on their prostaff. My favorite is the panhandler with spring bobber. Use it with small tungsten jigs for brookies and pan fish. So much fun. I also use the gold digger rod for lake trout. I haven’t tried long Black Reign that you have. The shorter one I have seemed too stiff but good for like. looks like the one you have load up nice. They are incredible rods. Super light, sensitive and durable.
I've never used the gold digger. That Black Reign 40 inch is the ticket I do believe. That has the backbone for the bigger lake trout. But yet the sensitive enough Rod tip. I would use it on Brookie salmon brown trout rainbows just about anything.
Kahtoola micro spikes, a little pricey at $60-$70 but well worth it in my opinion! This is my 4th season on my first pair and I fish all weekend every weekend!
Great videos guys I'm new to ice fishing especially for Lakers what are your favorite jigging baits and rod set ups I would appreciate any advice thanks again and keep the videos coming
We will be Making a video tomorrow about that. It will be out in a couple weeks. But for the short version, I use a few different setups. I prefer using at least a 40 inch rod medium heavy with a fast action Rod tip for the light for the light finicky bites. Custom rods will run you more money, but are way worth it. Be sure to Keep an eye out for that video. To get the full Rundown
I am trying to add a pic..unsuccessful. they are black rubber you pull over the bottom of your boot 6 points in the front 2 in the back. They work great and have lasted. There is a "CE" on them sizes xs sm lrg extra leg. The spikes have a yellow plastic circle between the rubber and the spike. You can feel the sides somewhat thru your boots. Highly recommend.
We were on the south end Evan. The ice really Depends. They have been snowmobiles side by sides and four wheelers out to a certain distance. Beyond that is foot traffic. This snow really made certain spots on that Lake very dangerous. If there's no tracks be sure to check the ice.
Glad to hear you getting a few good ones, I don't think I've ever fished there. I completely agree with the ice situation though I doubt we'll be on there this year
Those were the first pair of cleats I bought. Not sure if I got a bad pair or what. After a week I lost the front cleat on one foot and a couple weeks later lost the other front cleat.
Awesome video guys and nice fish! I get goosebumps every time i see people on that ice haha

Cool idea Carl, thanks for sharing.
Stabil Icers work awesome. Ive had mine for years... Also is that the JT Black Reign?
Yes, sir. I have both which you speak of and I also have a JT blackout. Do you have any experience with JT rods?

Nice camera work! I use Yak trax XL The post office uses them.
Good times, I just subscribed!
Yack Tracks, seem to be working well for me so far.
I use korkers, around 89 dollars. For the Sandals or over boot ones. Been wading and ice fishing with them hard for two years and still good to go!
Thanks for the tip.
@@PineStateHunter no problem!

I looked At a pair of those online and didn't want to wait the shipping time. So I went with a pair of stabil
the band 'stable' cleats are the best
Katula micro spikes best I’ve found

Hey love the videos. Been watching them since the start of the ice season. what depth do you get the majority of your hookups?
For the most part between 120 and 140. There are a lot of people that fish under a hundred feet. And do well
@@PineStateHunter thank you for the response. I'll hope to get into some Lakers this season.
Maine made Stable Icers. around $ 29.00 easy on easy off, tough.
I don't think I got the icers the ones I got were 60 bucks
I have had my stabil icers for probably 10 years or more. I have olny has one stud fall out. Easily replaced. Higly recommended
what end of the lake were you guys on, and how much ice?

Whats a good size laker there?
I would say 30", The biggest Eric has caught in that lake was 38". Thanks for watching.
Where are you guys fishing on sebago
In the water
@@PineStateHunter I figured that out . I didn't think it was such a secret
I just don't want people setting up on top of me, And leaving me no room to bounce around.
Dont think we be fishing the lake thia year shitty year for ice. I been fishing Stanley pond in hiram we have got few good ones

Old Town Trading post.
YakTrax worth every penny and have lasted 5 seasons so far
It's time for another pair for me, looks like I might be going with yaktrax
Korkers Apex, 40$

U should release the air out of them by rubbing belly before releasing
I do for the most part if they haven't burped in the water. Trying to get Dad into the rhythm of doing that every time.
Yaktrax xtr
Ive had a older pair fo these for MANY years. Lost a few screws but was easy to replace at the hardware store. htice.com/SCL-2/
Thanks for the link Adam, I'll check them out
