He and Tim Duncan are 2 star players I can think of who played pretty much the same from when they entered the league all the way until they retired/ the end of their career. They both also went to Wake Forest.
@@edwinj that's because both of these players( Duncan and Paul ) are fundamentally sound and never relied on athleticism for their games to be effective, it was more about basketball IQ and skill . They are/were both complete basketball players at their respective positions .
@@Rory695 Not like his college career. JJ had the total package even in this video. JJ's Range was FUCKING crazy in college. His balling handling skills at a young age was overlooked driving to the basket and JJ WAS AS CLUTCH AS YOU Can get in college. JJ was projected to be the next "great white hope in the NBA" although Dirk and Steve Nash was balling crazy at this time. JJ was at the guard position and was looked to do everything. Even pass. JJ just wasn't super Athletic in which in the NBA that is a big contribution to your game. In College? Not so much. JJ has a Ok/good career in the NBA....but my god JJ was feared in college.
Truly a golden era of NCAABB. The one and done era just isnt the same. It isnt as epic or meaningful when the top teams are completely different every year.
It’s crazy to see how JJ had to mold his game to fit In the nba, he looked so much more versatile In college but he’s obviously better now than he was just can’t do all the things he could in college against tougher opponents
The level of hate JJ Reddick got from fans when he was in Duke is still among the most irrational and ridiculous I had ever seen for basketball player. It's up there with the kind of hate LeBron is getting from casual fans.
Special talents...Reddick didn't translate as well early in his career and CP3 walks on any court and is great...but both incredible talents. This Wake Forrest team had no business competing, but CP3 is that kind of floor general and leader...hope he gets 1 champion soon so people can't dismiss his greatness as a top PG of all time
Barely see NBA highlights of Reddick in the NBA make a driving attack dribble and pull back for Js or playmake...those early years in the NBA set him back...but him having his best years as a Sixer was amazing
He always drives to the basket, back in the clippers, he would come off down screens and drive whenever defenders ran beside him, he's a great driver but it gets over looked
Redick looks like such more of a complete player in this game than just a marksmen. Hard to believe he still had to go through major growing pains in the NBA to stick.
For being a smaller school in the ACC, Wake Forest’s all time team would be outstanding with Chris Paul and Tim Duncan anchoring the team along with Josh Howard, Jeff Teague and Muggsy.
Bruh the fact that the Clippers weren't even contenders in the Lob City days is nothing short of confounding. It's a case-study in how ego and chemistry can make a sum less than its parts.
At 4:45 Dick Vitale mentions Illinois, which at the time had Deron Williams Ballin his ass out.... CP3 and Dwill had some epic duels back in the day!!!
Waaw Chris Paul still playing the same. What a great player meanwhile JJ changed his game he just a shooter now still great but he was much better then.
Destiny 100 I think JJ changed his game because nba teams needed pure shooters, he has the ability to become an asset on any team. (Role player, sixth man) great players though! I’m glad I’ve been able to watch these two over the years 🔥
@@CarlonxJeffery yeah but imagine if JJ was more of shooter he would be legendary Chris Paul still playing great look what he did Boston the other day.
It's not that Reddick changed his game, it's that alot of what he was able to do against college teams he isn't able to do as effectively against NBA level talent at every positio, So he was forced to play a certain way so he could be effective and get minutes in the NBA.....
dthreezy in essence changing his game.. he couldn’t do what he did in college in the pros.He had to alter his game in order to be effective at a high level in a professional environment.
Obviously Paul had a much better NBA career and he's a future HoF but JJ has been formidable in the NBA as well. Been in the NBA for 15 seasons is a remarkable accomplishment and he's been a core piece to every team he's played for, he's still going strong today with the Pelicans. 2000s college basketball was at it's best, watching old highlights brings back good memories. Unfortunately college basketball is a shell of itself today and will never be as big as it was in the 2000s for various reasons, with one of the main reasons being that there are so many 'one and dones', it's watered down college basketball. I don't blame the players either, its the system that's forcing their hands and things will continue if the system and rules don't change.
I think you mistook CP3 for someone else. Paul didn't guard Redick in any of these clips; Justin Gray and Taron Downey were the ones he was scoring on.
jj reddick is a savage.. my mans put on like 30 lbs of muscle and changed his game to be sought after and relevant for like 10-12 years in the league. respect
Remember when coach K sat Nolan Smith to bring Kyrie back off the injury so NBA scouts could check him out? Smith was playing well and could've delivered. Thought Duke had a chance to win ship that year, until Kyrie returned in the tourney. Kyrie ain't a winner. Also Duke had the top 3 recruits and busted last year. Coach K is done. Get rid of him.
CP’s game translated so well to the NBA. Crazy how he still plays the same.
He and Tim Duncan are 2 star players I can think of who played pretty much the same from when they entered the league all the way until they retired/ the end of their career. They both also went to Wake Forest.
he doesnt really play exactly the same. The fundamentals are still there, but he was alot more explosive before the injuries.
CPGoat #3 facts
I was so happy when he left the Rockets, as I know the real CP3 is coming back in OKC.

King In My Own Mind this wake team was actually nice.
Where witnessing it now the suns and paul may get the nba champ
Cp3 is underappreciated. Curry made me fall inlove with basketball way back 2014, but damn chris paul is my favorite player rn
If cp3 and td were together during their times n wake.. It would mean an easy chip.. 🏆🏆
Paul was good enough to be on an nba finals contender team🔥🔥
qrew still is
So was JJ

Juice Lord lmfaoooo right
He went to grab some popcorn and a soda
Watch closely. He told him to "come here" after the play. Cold-blooded (Rick James voice).
