You are not slow, there are 2 of you that would normally be a crew of 6 or even 8 doing. Please stop discounting how hard you work and all you do. The home is looking great. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Saturday. P.S. I love pressure washing videos.

It does go slow when one person is doing 90% of the work, and the other is going at half-speed. Doug feels the need to go a 2x speed just so the projects get done. You don't need someone to do nothing and hold a camera - get a tripod, and then both can do different tasks.

@@XtremeChiliPepper Ashley has her own duties like motherhood and home schooling on top of everything. I also believe she manages the channel. She definitely does her fair share of work.

    • @XtremeChiliPepper
      @XtremeChiliPepper 5 месяцев назад +1

@@loserplanet What does that have to do with the projects? I'm saying they could get much more done with two people working on them. Those regular every day things would be expected duties during the day, that both of them do off-camera. The kids sit in the van, Doug works on the projects, and Ashley is filming or sitting down somewhere while Doug explains things.

That was fun to watch. If you're taking votes between ceiling and painting the outside, I vote painting. I'm excited to see what color/colors you've chosen. I remember the red and white trailer you painted. That was nice, classic old style. Fresh paint gives a project a new look and sense of accomplishment.

Doug - you did a great job !! The difference is amazing .
I agree that extra batteries is a good purchase 👍
As someone who did power washing for many years … my suggestion is : spray on the soap, let it sit for a while, then soap up again. Then when you’re ready to power wash - start at the BOTTOM. That way you essentially get a double wash & double rinse with less work 👍👍👍👍.
I used a commercial 5000 hp unit with a 5 ft wand - and spin nozzle … but the unit you have can handle what you require. Bottom up will be very helpful to you .
Cause - if you keep holding that wand up over your head so long … you’re gonna have POPEYE forearms 😳😳🤣.
Looking fabulous, Doug !! I’m so proud of you and happy for you too ❤ 😘

My vote using my 2 cents is finish pressure washing to verify no leaks and prepare to paint enjoy a slower pace for little and then move to indoors when it’s less favorable to be outside rainy or to hot and then it will look good from afar and less likely to attract attention that the activity inside might have valuable tools or materials and not a lot of occupancy or anybody there and then that headache and all that follows. But great job on the roof and it’s coming along nicely. Wish I could help I would brought my pressure washer too lol

I vote for painting for one of the same reason you tackled the roof when you did. The sun reflecting off the metal is intense and the heat increases dramatically. Since you are your own boss it's wise to only consider painting metal in Florida before and after summer. Falling off a ladder after being overcome by heat isn't worth the risk. I do not intend to sound bossy or rude. A friend's husband insisted on pressure washing their huge RV during the hotter months. (We live in Georgia, our temp is usually a few degrees milder than central/northern Florida.) He fell and snapped his spine. He was home alone. By the time their children returned he had suffered a heat stroke. I am certain Ashley and Doug will make the best decision for themselves. I would feel horrible if I didn't mention my reasoning, especially since Doug asked for our thoughts. The mobile home is looking so crisp and refreshed. Every project makes such a huge difference. This channel is honest and real. Setbacks happen. Changes will be made. Your deadline is based on your decisions. That is part of the joy so many viewers derive from this channel - no insulting our integrity or intelligence. It's Ashley and Doug being true to themselves and truthful with their followers.

I believe I would paint before it gets terribly hot but I don’t live there and I don’t know their weather patterns, they’ve been there long enough to know if it’s possible to paint at this time! I believe you ran out of soap also, power washers will do that to and you don’t realize it. When I power wash, I use a small amount of bleach, soap and water wash which kills the mildew and loosens up the embedded dirt, I apply it in sections with a RV brush and poll, let it sit for 10min., then power wash that section off before going to another section; when it starts to dry, you’ll see a very big difference and it will not use up your battery power so quickly either. If you don’t want to use 1/4 cup of bleach, use hydrogen peroxide or vinegar in place of the bleach, just be sure to rinse off with your power washer after 10min. of preparation solutions and the brushing on. Never use chemicals in your power washer! Best of luck to finishing your washing of the trailer, it already looks amazing 😂❤🎉.

It makes sense, to me, to paint the outside since you're cleaning it now, but I suppose it would have to be washed down before painting because of the environment. I still say paint and finish off the outside so you can tick that off your list and look at a nice home, at least on the outside. Love how much happier Ashley looks and sounds since your move to Florida. Best wishes to your family.

I would think about doing the outside - weather permitting - while it is clean enough to paint. Then you can tackle the inside jobs without worrying about the rains : D

WOW 😮 what an awesome difference the power washer makes! I knew it would clean, but I didn’t expect it to make the siding look almost like new!! Very satisfying to watch!! You’re making fantastic progress, & I know it’s not, but you make it look so easy!

Since that pressure washer doesn't seem to have trigger lock on the handle, to save your hands getting tired, you could use a quick clamp to depress the trigger for you. I discovered that whilst trying to avoid the hand cramps, so much easier.

That clean up is so satisfying. I love instant gratification jobs!
As for batteries and chargers, there are usually a lot listed on Marketplace in the Tampa Bay area. I just bought a new 18v Ryobi with charger for $24. I had been watching for a deal for awhile.
