Well, it was only fair.
the eagle knows how to, they grab right on the head sea snake with their claw, so there is no chance to bite and inject the venom..
Easier said than done. Remember the catch occurs in motion.

It seemed like that initially, but then mid-air it turned out the head was not in the claws but all the way down hanging all loose and it tried hitting the eagle's body, but the bend and the reach weren't enough.
