Sad how only the Zeon grunt suits get cool 'outmatched but stand their ground till the last moemnt' shots like that. Fed grunt suits are like 'hurr durr why am I not hitting oh I'm dead'
@chinglegitrdx6135 There are many moments in gundam where Federation Grunts do that, Unicorn has the most famous of course with the Stark Jegan vs. Kshatriya and Narrative has that one Anksha pilot in its opening scenes.
0:35 I remember reading a comment on another video with this scene and someone pointed out that the much older Zogok was damaged because of its older steel armor while the brand-new Zee Zulu wasn't (titanium-ceramic-composite armor); thought it was a cool touch by the animators
Zogok and Zgok both held up well vs the beam machine guns just by the pure thickness of their armor. Zee Zulu as a newer model, and I know beam resistant materials were added to the exterior of mobile suits later in Gundam to combat lower output beam weapons. So it's more than just the material used in the armor itself but coating/paint also factors in. Zee Zulu just deflects the rounds rather than the armor absorbing the hits. But as you noticed beam saber still cuts right through it. So it's likely surprisingly, just a fancy surface coating. I know such coatings were added to shields, but were considered for whatever dumb lore reason too expensive to apply to suits themselves. We also know that titanium ceramic composite didn't help many late war Zeon suits vs beam weapons. Like the Zaku FZ and Gelgoog Jaegers, and you even see a Zaku FZ go up like a ball of poof in a single hit from a missile in the same anime. Titanium ceramic composite like on today's tanks with steel ceramic composites just gives better protection to weight ratios. Being EF suits have always been using some form of titanium alloy are also not immune to beam weapons and are just as easily diced up by beam machine guns. Titanium alloy ceramic composite also didn't help HiZacks from being the Zakus of Zeta Gundam either. So i'd say the composite armor has little to do with it, let alone titanium.
They thought spacenoid doesn't know much sea so they don't really pay attention to marine type mobile suit Too bad for them, zeon keeps making prototype for all terrain
@@blitzmustang1588 they clearly did since Atlas, Gundam Aqua, Gm Aqua, and Guncannon Aqua exist. The problem with all of those suits though is they are almost OYW era suits and are outdated, yet still being fielded by the events of Unicorn. That means they thought the oceans would be safe for 2 large scale wars and multiple smaller conflicts in between to the point where they thought they didn't need to update their amphibs. Of course they were wrong
@@blitzmustang1588 That still doesn't explain why they thought that one front would be safe enough to not need to develop a new design for 17 years. Capules were even a threat during ZZ so they should have known better
@@Nostroman_Praetor They did develop more post-OYW Aquatic MS for the feddies, just not in substantial numbers. The GPO1 Aqua loadout exists, as does the Marine set for the F90. You're also forgetting that the Zaku Mariner is technically an EFF developed design, it's just that the prototype units were seized in the first neo zeon war by Zeon. Being drained by constant warfare, no further effort was made to strengthen what is essentially the least important front on Earth. You can't win a war one only one front. The Oldsmobile Army/Mars Zeon had complete control of the ocean and faced little opposition, but what good did it do? They still lost. The EF Navy could've also wiped out marine based Zeon remnants way before the events of Unicorn, but it should be known there were under the table agreements made between Zeon remnants and the navy. After all, if they destroyed the remaining Zeon remnant aquatic assets, there would be literally no reason to keep the navy around maybe except for ceremonial purposes. Those in the federation naval branch wanted to keep their jobs.
@@ZeonicZaku1-Zeon_Grunt_Suit fair argument, My final thoughts on that though is the Zaku Mariner is more a stolen design than anything. Also my views about the GM Aqua have changed recently due to how they are in GBO2. be fair in most cases in the first gundam, most of the pilots on the feddies weren't well trained nor experienced, as they had just started rolling uot mechs. while the zeon guys were trained in most cases and, also, came from the faction that craeted the damn things so they know how they work.
for a giant sword it would be easy to ramp it up and to heat them up would be a simple as sword handle have a port for hand to hook to and suit can easy power it. for rifle since it a beam weapon would be simple and for solid round just grab a tank gun and give a better recoil system.
The pilot is an ex-Titans ace Robin Diez. I'd love the idea of that Byarlant Custom pilot to be some named MC from older series but being ex-Titans ace explained why he's so good at using Titans suit and at taking out Zeons.
honestly what happened with the zulu? Is the pilot suppose to be lock down? if so why the zulu mono eye is turned off? Although Unicorn has some of the best fighting scene, it also has a lot of weird shot like this.
@@B1_224 Their future is depicted in the manga, and some remnants, including Zulu, survive. They temporarily cooperate with the Earth Federation Forces to fight pirates.

giant sword
giant assault rifle
