Siurana was the last Moorish stronghold in Catalonia, and it fell to Christian forces in 1153 after a long siege. The village's name is derived from the Arabic word "Xibrana," which means "misty place." The remains of the Moorish castle, known as the Castell de Siurana, are still visible today and offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
