What factors affect our health? We know that genetics are important, but the environment we are exposed to during certain phases of our lives can also greatly impact our health and produce a variety of outcomes. A large amount of evidence suggests that small changes in the uterine environment during pregnancy may have lasting effects on offspring development, leading to an increased susceptibility to certain conditions. In this presentation, we will explore types of factors that may be causing epigenetic changes to a developing embryo or fetus and societal issues we should consider to improve outcomes.
