I was delighted to see the Philadelphia sign as I rode there from Berlin a couple years ago, at a time when I was also living in Philadelphia USA. I stayed entirely on paved roads but it was nice to see those gravel options because my bike could certainly handle that level of roughness without issues. sadly I no longer live in Berlin (I'm back in Switzerland where I grew up, so I'm not complaining in general) otherwise it would have been cool to participate next year! But yeah Berlin is definitely kinda "in the middle of nowhere" so no surprise there haha :)
We have a handful of gravel audaxes in the UK but they have no special name. Grevet sounds like it is something that could work - but it also sounds like some sort of bird! Anyway fun looking gravel in Germany may have to visit one day.
BTW who organised this? I would like to join when a group ride goes to tackle the grevets here in Berlin. Thought there is generally only one day that there is a group starting.
