I was there last summer. I am fortunate that a cousin lives in Eastbourne and has a daughter living in Brighton. They are both gorgeous cities on the sea.
Lived in Brighton in 2005, miss it. Avoid the pier though, just tourists and games. Go to the Pavilion, go to the Lanes, go to the train station and take the train to Lewes for a side trip.
The Royal Pavilion is currently (2021) undergoing extensive restoration. The Queen is loaning for display some items of furniture and decoration that had been taken to Buckingham Palace following the sale of the pavilion to the Borough of Brighton. P.S. The pavilion was used as a convalescence centre for troops from the Indian Empire during WW1.
1:10 Reminds me of the line "Candy floss on your nose" on the Thomas & Friends song "Seaside". I didn't know yet that the song meant "cotton candy on your nose"! Thomas & Friends is a British show.

That palace is one of my favourite palaces in Europe. Really unique, and built by one of my most favourite monarchs to learn about!
I am riveted by all Rick's videos - they're diverse, informative, well filmed and often quirky. Highly recommend.
I live in Brighton and I love it! Not far from London and quite a lot to see so worth a visit.
I live by the Brighton on the other side of the ocean.
Brighton, Colorado? Brighton, Michigan? Or a different one?
Brighton Beach Brooklyn
I was in NYC in October actually. I stayed in Queens but travelled around a lot. I didn't go to Brighton Beach oddly enough.
I'm visiting Brighton this summer when I visit the United Kingdom with my mom

I visited in 2008. The palace was incredible!

We went to Brighton this year. It’s definitely a must go in the UK!

The time period of the pavilion's heyday wasn't "Victorian" (that was under Queen Victoria), it was known as Regency.
Rick says at 2:42 on this recording, "Imagine, England's pre-Victorian elite...." (in other words, the people of the Regency era).
Wow
Wish i could be there... 😭
Buy sand, dump

England sea very cold can't swim even in summer !!
It is very cold but when you've been in the sea a while you acclimatize and adjust to it and eventually don't feel the cold
Blah blah
