I have been following your steam engine project with great interest. I started working with a very simple 'kitchen table' model engine and I like what I am seeing.
This is great and exactly what I'm looking to do, but WHERE can you get a steam engine like yours? I'm struggling to find any. Most seem to be toys or you have to own a lathe to make one....
This engine/boiler is fine without attention except for needing to throw wood in. The run time for five gallons of water is about three hours. The next version (someday) will be gravity fed wood for longer runs, top fired for better and faster steam, and a dual cylinder 3 HP engine with integrated alternator.
This is so cool, Great build.

I checked out your videos, very nice! I am working on a refined system with a team of very talented people. If it works out it will be awesome.

How is the "new" steam engine project going? miss your forum.
Amazing! Great job.
This is pretty cool. Have you gotten it to the point you dont have to watch it or are you almost there?

Very cool stuff.

Steel connecting rod or hard bronze, lighter piston might be good. Your redline is just a fast idle for a car!
you need new packing around your piston stem to seal
