They dominated and Tatum and brown are not in their prime yet. Teams especially in the east better start doing some work to put a team together that beats this current squad.
2017 Warriors 1997 Bulls 1987 Lakers 1986 Celtics 2001 Lakers 1983 Sixers Those are the best teams ever. Those are tier one to me. I guess than you have the 72 Lakers, the 60 something Celtics, the 89 Pistons, and yes the 2024 Celtics. i dont give them much weight for this title, it was injury riddled east with no challenge and they faced the best matchup possible in mavs in finals, they would lose to denver or minnesota easily
@@chocktalkDenver for sure would have been trouble. Timbs 50:50 in regular season but Ant would have been great to watch. Then again they lost to Mavs who the C's beat in the regular season. At the end of the season the C's on top, most dominant regular, most dominant finals. I was keeping it in the back of my mind though, the Bruins had the most dominant season in 22-23 then lost in the first round. I didnt relax till that final whistle, let out a big yell. Not quite a "WE DID IT!". Next season going to be fun to watch and see if they can repeat, I reckon they should be able to get minimum 2 more, maybe 3 in the next 5 years.
I would rate the 2017 Warriors #1. Vegas had them as hypothetical 8.5 point neutral court favorites over the 1996 Bulls, which translates to a -300 or 400 series price. The Celtics wouldn't be able to outshoot the Warriors, and they wouldn't have the frontcourt to take advantage of the Warriors playing small all the time.
No one is better than the 1996 Bulls because of Jordan. If they played by modern rules, Jordan would average 10 more points a game. Warriors losing in six. If they played the game under the rules of the 90s, the Warriors would be swept. They could not play in an age with hand checking. The Celtics would likely lose under the modern rules to the warriors. Under the rules of the 80s, the guards of the warriors would be spending a majority of the time looking at the ceiling due to the physical play of that era. Celtics in five
The Celtics just made the most 3s per game in nba history. They can definitely keep up. But, yes that would be a crazy 7 game series. Trade Wiggins and for KD and let’s see💯
@@User12347ejdj Hand checking would take time to get used to, but re-watching games from the 90s today, the defense wasn't all that amazing. One game was only by 2 points and was meaningless to the #1 seed (by 14 games) Celtics. Denver went 7-5 in the playoffs, finishing 64-30 (.681). Celtics finished 80-21 (.792). That's 16% better and 16 more wins. Minus head to head Denver was 62-30 (.674) against the other teams and Celtics were 80-19 (.808) against the other teams (20% better). Denver lost to the Timberwolves (4-3) who lost to the Mavericks (4-1) who lost to the Celtics (4-1).

@@DarrenKrusi In every sport player's get better as time passes. It's only natural that player's today are better than the players that came before them.
@@peterfalkson6730 I agree and it's really hard to compare teams of the past to teams of today. The game also evolves and things that were allowed previously aren't allowed now. 3pt rule came in during Bird's rookie year, would he have been as celebrated without it? Would the numbers have changed for previous players that didn't have the 3pt rule. Game play has also changed. C's work to stretch the defence out to find the optimum 3pt shooter and having 5 shooters on the court capable of doing the shot really stretches out the defence. Along with having 5 on the floor very capable defenders. The way I see it for Joe Mazulla was he played Moneyball but with management willing to back him financially. And then you've also got him playing a version of Ted Lasso's total football without the red string. So it's not just the players that get better, the coaches and their strategies also evolve which can be just as fascinating to watch. The C's are champs there's a massive target on their back and people are going to come up with new reasons on why they won't make it next year. Let's see. I'm excited to see the changes to other teams for next season and how they will try to shut them down, and obviously how the best duo ever along with the rest of the team and Joe overcome them.

Just like your team getting Holiday and KP. Was Lebron going to Miami cheating too? Lakers getting Shaq was cheating too. Get over it.
Cope A Cola
JT STILL holding that 🏆‼️😂😂😂
Cry
He's like Daffy Duck: "it's mine!! Mine, mine, down, down, down!! Mine, mine mine!!"
The Celtics already have a mindset that they want to do it again and again! DO IT! 💪☘️🏆😎💯💚💚☘️☘️🏆🏆
With KP in lineup i would put my money on Celtics vs most of the greats.
Why do you guys always compare them from the 86' team. This is a new generation and new talents. Dammm, analysis doesn't have better things to say than to compare what others have accomplished.

5 on 5 sport buddy
Jason gonna bring the trophy to every game of next season
how many embiid tests do the celtics even need? the record against giannis is at least a little less lopsided, but weve also seen him many times.
A repeat is going to be tough! 2 of our players are heading to Paris for the Olympics.
The Celtics s had the most 50 point, 40 point, 30 point and 25 point wins this season in NBA history yet they don't even RANK as one of the TOP Three all time Celtic TEAMS, so sure, LET that really sink in. One of the most meaningless STATS like EVER.
You keep glossing over the fact, that their starting center KP was hurt and still won.
And after all that they still doubted us
Stop talking about they did not get tested when I bet you the Pacers would have beaten Dallas. They were a very good team and they gave the Celtics a more difficult series than Dallas. Maybe you guys in the media who never played a sport in your life don’t know anything about basketball because you didn’t give the east enough credit. Some people were injured, but guess what other players stepped up big time. Like nembard. He would not have gotten that many shots and minutes if Tyrese was playing. Dude put a big numbers.
Idiot
He said the cheat code Warriors LMAO, any Warriors fan will tell you we we earned every bit of the Curry era with our unwavering support and love for our team.
It was only a cheat code because a historic jump in the cap coincided with Durant being a free agent. There's no way that team exists otherwise
And Draymond getting to set hocky check style moving screens and commit technical fouls for record low consequences
Udonis is Miami legend more than Bron despite 2 mvps 20 years of secrefice is to be proud of
Boston Celtics back-to-back champion 🏆 ?
And they have not been fully healthy in both regular and playoffs. They seem also have not played their full potential which is something to look forward to next season. Stay hungry Celtics! We are now eyeing for #19. LFG!
exactly if they healthy . they will be better
To me the 86 Celtics and 87 Lakers are the 2 best TEAMS I’ve ever seen! Maybe one of those mid 2010 Spurs teams and the mid 90s Bulls after that.
What’s scary to think is Tatum will want to get better
Banner 19 is the only conversation
They dominated and Tatum and brown are not in their prime yet. Teams especially in the east better start doing some work to put a team together that beats this current squad.
2017 Warriors
1997 Bulls
1987 Lakers
1986 Celtics
2001 Lakers
1983 Sixers
Those are the best teams ever. Those are tier one to me. I guess than you have the 72 Lakers, the 60 something Celtics, the 89 Pistons, and yes the 2024 Celtics. I just can’t see these Celtics stacking up against the best of the best without one of the greats on the team. Maybe Tatum will get there but I don’t know. It would be interesting to see them against the 2012 Heat or 2014 Spurs.
Haslem literally picked the mavs to win the series lol these dudes switch up so fast
Luka the best defensive player in the NBA 😂
Sorry, Porzingis missed most of the playoffs! What a difference when he plays! All teams had injuries. The Celtics owned the West this season!
Balance, the Cs have it in spades and can kill you in any number of ways with different guys every night. Hail the end of the Marcus Smart era and the beginning of the Jrue Holiday era. We will not be kicking the ball into the stands during the last 15 seconds now and anything is possible next season.
Opponents injured? KP was also injured
People won’t respect it as all time, unless they repeat already saw that coming since it’s the Celtics but no stat about the team points to anything other than historic
Basically what my Celtics is saying after winning this Chip is for the rest of y'all Teams y'all better tighten Tf up cause for the next 4 to 5 years the League is ours.
I would say if they repeat and nothing else I would put them in the category of the 80s/90s Pistons repeat team and the Lebron/Wade Miami Heat team that repeated. If they get 3 total in the next few years then we are talking Kobe/Shaq Lakers and possibly 80s Celtics and moving into the Warriors.
80’s Celtics never 3peated. They would usurp that if they do
i dont give them much weight for this title, it was injury riddled east with no challenge and they faced the best matchup possible in mavs in finals, they would lose to denver or minnesota easily
MJ 3 peated twice! 😂😂😂😂
@@Christian-eq6pq 80s Celtics never REpeated. They won in 1981, 1984 and 1986. Losing in the Finals in 1985 and 1987 to the Lakers.
Tatum is gonna marry that trophy
I would rate the 2017 Warriors #1. Vegas had them as hypothetical 8.5 point neutral court favorites over the 1996 Bulls, which translates to a -300 or 400 series price. The Celtics wouldn't be able to outshoot the Warriors, and they wouldn't have the frontcourt to take advantage of the Warriors playing small all the time.
Throw Boston's perimeter shutdown defense in the mix and run them numbers, again.
I’d say 96 Bulls, 17 Warriors, 85-86 Celtics. 2000 Lakers. This Celtics team is probably in the upper half of the top 10, maybe just outside top 5
The Celtics just made the most
3s per game in nba history. They can definitely keep up. But, yes that would be a crazy 7 game series. Trade Wiggins and for KD and let’s see💯
@@User12347ejdj Hand checking would take time to get used to, but re-watching games from the 90s today, the defense wasn't all that amazing. I'd love to see how those bull's teams would respond to the spacing of the Warriors because back then teams would clog the paint not caring for 3 pointers. The bulls would not be able to keep up with the scoring of Steph, Klay, and KD.
Please explain all of this to Nick Wright.
The Celtics better watch out for UD
A 20 point lead is like a seven lead 20 years ago.
These point totals today dont mean much
Except they easily had the largest point differential in the league.
STANLEY CUP FINAL is on
Jrue Holiday is now a two time champion before Giannis. God works in mysterious ways
Lots of players are more than 1-time champion. Your point?
@@RKO859 my point is the Bucks let him go to strength their team for a championship push especially with Giannis still in his prime. Celtics did same with Marcus Smart, Kristap Pozingis & Jrue trade. Jrue is now a 2 time champion & may likely get his 3rd Championship before Giannis get his 2nd if he will with the way the Bucks add to their roster
They need a BACK-TO-BACK chip to reach the top tier.
Werent most the teams they played in the playoffs. The stars were injured on
The Celtics were really beating up entering the finals 2 years ago. Horford was their healthiest starter.
I’d say they’re a top 6 team in NBA history
They are not, MJ Bulls, Magic Kareem Lakers, Kobe Shaq Lakers, Steph KD GS, 2014 Spurs are all better. Then we have the Bird Celtics, Lebron Heats, and 2015-16 GS are agurably better.
All these shows everytime you hear em say HISTORY HISTORY HISTORY getting so annoying...every single game played can be a HISTORY moment if you manipulate it to your liking.
You know what this means! REPEAT!
It's who u play. If that's wasn't the case anyone who can beat up children is a tuff guy lol
It's how many wins you have. The Celtics dominated by such a huge margin that you have to show the injuries were THAT much of a factor.
ESPN needs to resign Tim Legler
Im getting sick of hearing Embiid mentioned with Giannis. When has Embiid ever once beaten the Celtics in a playoff series? Giannis is levels above Embiid in that regard.
UD is doing good so far.
Celtics 🙌
Udonis cannot physically say anything unbiased
Lost both games against Denver!
But they won a championship
One game was only by 2 points and was meaningless to the #1 seed (by 14 games) Celtics. Denver went 7-5 in the playoffs, finishing 64-30 (.681). Celtics finished 80-21 (.792). That's 16% better and 16 more wins. Minus head to head Denver was 62-30 (.674) against the other teams and Celtics were 80-19 (.808) against the other teams (20% better). Denver lost to the Timberwolves (4-3) who lost to the Mavericks (4-1) who lost to the Celtics (4-1).
@@bigneiltoookay nd they still went 0-2 vs nuggets it doesnt matter who they lost to nd who u beat. Its about matchups and Jokic would’ve been a big problem to the celtics. They probably lose to the nuggets in 7.
@@bigneiltooalso the nuggets played in the west where the playin teams had 46 wins nd the top 5 teams in the west had 50 wins or more. Meanwhile in the east only 2 teams had 50 wins or more. Playin teams were below 500 teams. All 5 teams in the west coulda went over there nd been the 2 seed. If Boston plays in the west playing better teams consistently you take that 64-18 record and most likely they go 57-25 like the nuggets nd a chance given the right matchup that they lose before getting to the finals. So dont act they just was 100 percent gonna win no matter who they played.
Nuggets can't beat 50+ win teams in the playoffs
The “other team’s star players were hurt” narrative is so irritating. It wouldn’t have mattered. “The End”.
It’s because of the NBA media obsession with the previous greats that has interfered with our view of Boston. *The LA Lakers won the media this year!!!* If this was Lebron’s Boston team we would have been known ALL season long how great they are 24/7.
if the east is weak argument holds any value same goes for west is weak, western conference champions got gentlemen swept just like east all sweeps and gentlemen sweeps.
THe celtics are the 4th greatest team of the 21st century, greater the bron Miami but worse than '14 spurs, Durant warriors and '01 lakers, the only reason spurs are above is because the C's weren't battle tested, but i believe my celtics gonna go back to back against competent comp to prove they are #3
"they haven't played anybody, they haven't been tested, Kyrie and Luka are the best backcourt ever " (after missing playoffs last year and being a #5 seed this year and winning nothing " Celtics are all under contract next year, the money's off their back and team chemistry will only get better, and Tatum and brown finally broke through, finally at age 26/27? Haha just started folks.
"They havent been tested" 😂
Glazing the Celtics
Of course the media is going to create these discussions, but the rules are a joke now, and the talent is a fraction of what it was in the 80's and early 90's. I am a lifelong Celtics' fan, this team would lose by 100 to the '86 Celtics!
The 1967 76ers Wilt Chamberlain team or the 1972 lakers Chamberlain and Jerry West team that won 33 game straight without a defeat. They are the best teams ever without a doubt.
If we are not talking about a repeat then they are not that great and can start at the bottom of the barrel of any list .
4-1 mavs finals. Reg season vs west 23-7. Vs west playoff/playin teams 13-7 nd 8-0 vs non playoff/In teams. Vs west teams 500 or better 14-8 vs below 500 8-0. Top 4 teams in west standings Thunder/nuggets/t-wolves/clippers they went 3-5. 7-1 vs 5-8 seeded teams. Its a little less impressive when u break it down nd see who they was actually beating in the west. Good chance they play the thunder, nuggets, clippers or t-wolves its a closer finals nd they probably lose to the thunder nd nuggets.
What does the team need to do more to earn the respect???😅
Boston, yall dont have a nice club there to celebrate at. I took the trophy South Beach. i understand dallas did it, and they win over the heat. That time, it kind of bad look even the lakers celebrate in LA, not fly down to different states. Florida stays winning even when their team is not celebrating in the club, and I gladly take your money
Good all around team. Bird and Mchale would have shredded them though
And every other team in the league. The Celtics dominated nearly every metric, heads and shoulders above every team and then these guys are saying the team isn't even on the same page as past teams. What does that say about the league as a whole?
If the Mavs won, what would the conversation be?
@@DarrenKrusinuggets from last year would have beaten them. . .
In the last 20 years probably at least 10 teams would beat them
@@DarrenKrusi In every sport player's get better as time passes.
WOOOO BOSTON!!!
The 2024 Celtics are the best NBA team of all time
B✌️B baby!! 🍀
Here we go, moving the goal-post after winning a ring....
zack high has so much dam expectations and he cant even dribble
How are you taking this boston team to the top 5 team of all time when they have not yer even done a back to back championship, obv not a 3peat team, have this team won more than 4 rings?
They're champs, but please, the east is weaker then when bron was in Cleveland.
When will people stop talking about the Celtics having an easy run, and just admit they would have steamrolled every single team other than Denver
Dynasty incoming
New dynasty this year Celtics team reminded me of the prime Warrios. They're just going to get better, they can win it again next year.
What is the overall win percentage of the teams they played against?
They need to 3peat or win 3/4 or 3/5 for them to be remembered as an all time team.
ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS EVER. BUT THE 86 CELTICS WOULD BEAT THIS TEAM
Heat, cavs, pacers and mavs 😂 they didnt really have much of a challenge.
