I’ve been building courses since TGC1, I’m certainly not a rookie, but how the heck did I miss that there was a copy planting button in the designer?! 6:33 blew my mind, would’ve made the course building’s most tedious tasks much quicker.
Does anyone know if it's possible to filter courses by the designer? I'd love to be able to view all of crazycanuck's courses as well as other designers like arcticfury but right now I'm stuck looking through the top rated courses until i see one designed by them.
I'm at 10 percent after 2 holes. Should be around 90 when I finish with 10 percent left. I did copy paste plants to speed up time, so this hole is a tad overplanted
How do you SPECIFICALLY get to the copy and paste options for copying large areas of trees and foliage? I can't seem to locate them in any of the menus.
Tremendous job again! I actually find myself just watching your videos as it reminds me a bit of what Bob Ross would sound like if he were to have done "The Magic of PGA2K21 Course Design" series. I am making a course using Xbox One, but think I'll invest in the PC version just for design purposes. What was the actual time that this hole design took? Is there an average time that a hole & course take you?
And we're now done with WIP 003, was a good learning experience, now onto WIP 004. Also, more videos like this. I wasn't there for the stream but if you did 6 on that Pacific Coast build you were working on last week during a stream, a timelapse of that holes build would be great even if theres chat and sub popups every now and then, theres a lot to learn there.
I wanna buy 2k21 just for the course designer as the new gameplay etc doesnt justify the $60 price tag IMO - great looking hole by the way - just out of curiosity what is your usual % of object placement do you have after 18 and all the little buts put in? I noticed youre on hole 2 with 10% of max done
I try to keep it at about 5 percent a hole. At this rate I should be up around 90 by the time I hit 18. I also used a copy/paste plant technique that I don't usually use for sake of time , so this hole is a bit overplanted as well.
I don't use it much, but for a course like this where I want the planting to be uniform, it's a big timesaver. I also used it here to speed the video up a bit.
I would actually prefer to see how you come up with your routing design on an unspoiled piece of property that already has trees plants grasses rocks water….. just like what is done in real life.
Its amazing how much Tree Placement changes how a hole looks! 😳
Wow. The copy paste for planting works. I swear in tgc 2019 it left me with a bunch of floating trees and grass.
Awesome vid
Haven’t tried copy paste planting yet for 2K21. Does it auto adjust to elevation? That would speed up a lot of time and effort since I’m on PS4.

This is TGCTours website direct link to your question: bit.ly/2ZmDE15
You should play the hole at the end of the video!
Thanks for great vid but 1 question please. With that planting you did won't the objects file size be too big if you did that for the whole 18 holes.

Where can I find your created courses?? I’d love to play them
What is the tool you use that is like a fuzzy brush but with the small hole in the middle that you were using to create the hills behind the green?
How do you make a hole (the red lines) without it auto generating a teebox/fairway/and green?
Make it so that your fairway, rough, and green width are 0 in the course settings.
@@chriskujawski13 I did that and it dosent works

This took about 30 minutes. I went quick for time sake. It's not a great hole by my standards, but just wanted to show people the process!
Learned some good tips with this vid! Thx I’ve been struggling to efficiently do what I want

Can you do another series of Canuck’s Course Critiques?
Also, are you going to publish this course eventually?
@@orgolf5888 probably not. Was just an example. As for course critiques, also probably not. Just not enough time in the day for me.
A suggestion I have is to add a timer in a corner to get a sense of how long each section takes in real time
That's a good idea! I sped this up 3x so it took less than 30 minutes to build. Much faster than I usually work, so it's not a great hole.

This is dope, how long did this hole take you in total?
Very quick. Less than 30 minutes. The planting is sloppy but I did it like that for timing sake!
@@Crazycanuck1985 Yeah....sloppy.......(continues to spend 30 minutes planting 7 tress).
that copy and paste tree thing is gonna save me so much time
I've made a couple courses now but somehow have missed the copy paste feature??? This just changed my life lol
Agreed didn't know that was a thing 👍

I thought you were just gonna leave that patch of trees on that little hill. But nope you did 20x that lol
You should do a series where you create real courses that would be fun to watch
Won't be doing that unfortunately. I'm not a real course designer.
