  • We visited the LEGOLAND Water Park and CHIMA Water Park for the very first time in July 2021. The LEGOLAND & CHIMA Water Parks are part of the LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad, CA.
    I've been told that the LEGOLAND Water Park is better than SeaWorld's Aquatica, but since I hadn't been to either prior to this video, it's hard to compare.
    I will tell you compared to other water parks I've been to (which isn't many), the LEGOLAND & CHIMA Water Park was amazing. We had an absolute blast and I hope you enjoy these videos.

      I use a Manfrotto handheld tripod. It doesn't extend, but the feet flip out so I can set the phone up on flat surfaces. When the feet are closed it makes a good handle for holding it.

    I'm headed there with my 5 year old son next week and this really helped to know what to expect. Seems like shoes weren't needed as you walked between rides, is that correct (i.e. not too hot)? Also, where did your wife get her shorts? They are so cute! I love how simple and friendly your Vlog is - we have 3 kids 5 and under here in So Cal so I'm looking forward to all of your content.

      Walking between the two water parks got hot (on the feet) but that’s the only time I remember wishing I had my shoes with me. It was for about 2 minutes of the whole 2 hours we stayed there.
      Amy says she got her shorts on Amazon. The item name is: Aleumdr Women’s Waistband Swimsuit Bottom Boy Shorts

    We planned out our first trip to Legoland at the end of this month. Got the park hopper tickets and staying at the castle hotel. Would you suggest going to the water park first or the actual park? We are only staying two days.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 года назад +1

      The water park doesn’t open until 11 I think. So you’ve got an hour at the main park until then.
      I would recommend water park on the first day just so your swim clothes can dry before packing them up to go home.
      Since the water park doesn’t have the greatest food, I would suggest staying in the main park through lunch and then going to the water park.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 года назад

      I haven’t ever booked a hotel package, but the way it works for me is that I have to book a day in the park first. And after that it lets me make reservations for the water park and sealife. But you have to have that legoland reservation first.

    Hi question, I’m headed there tomorrow, I was wondering if there are any restrictions in terms of baggage, like is a backpack is okay to take or bags to the water park?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 года назад

      There are lockers there that you can rent. They won't prevent you from taking anything inside the waterpark, but you'll want to stow away all your valuables. They have two sizes of lockers, and you can get as many as you need. They are all day lockers.
      But for everything else that doesn't fit in a locker or you don't want to pay for more lockers, you'll need to just leave it on a Pool Chair. And so consider what you're comfortable leaving lying around without supervision while you're all over the water park.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 года назад +1

      No. I just had my phone in a waterproof case.
      They wouldn’t let phones on rides where you needed to hold on with both hands. So you’d need a chest or wrist mount for those.

    Can you just pay admission to go straight to the waterpark or do you have to pay for Legoland and the water park just to go to the waterpark?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 года назад +1

      No, you have to pay for LEGOLAND access as the water park is within the theme park and there is no separate access.
      It’s actually kind of confusing as I just tried to look it up. If you go to purchase LEGOLAND tickets there is no water park option.
      Instead, if you select “Buy” on the regular 1 day ticket, it brings up 4 options. And one is LEGOLAND + Water Park.
      That’s the ticket you’d need. It costs an extra $30 for access to the water park.
      If you plan to visit at least twice throughout the year, you may consider an annual pass with water park access instead.

    • @702bully
      @702bully 3 года назад

      @@SoCalDisneyDad Thank you for responding....It’s just that a waterpark is a whole day thing and I wish they would allow us to just go straight to the waterpark for only the waterpark price like San Antonio SeaWorld does

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 года назад +1

      @@702bully My family did everything at the water park, or nearly everything, in about 2 hours. Of course, we didn’t lounge on chairs, and didn’t really repeat many slides, and the wave pool wasn’t open at the time.
      We “maybe” could have spent another 1-2 hours there.
      With LEGOLAND being open 10 hours, you’d still have a solid 6 hours at LEGOLAND itself.
      Since the only people with access to the water park are people with hopper tickets, it actually makes the water park not as crowded.
      So while you might wait 40 minutes for a slide at Aquatica, you are waiting about 10 for one at LEGOLAND. Roughly.
