    The more I see these old games and hear the those commentators and the names of all those players I realise what an important part it all played in my life. And although it was all those years ago it still seems like yesterday. The players and the soundtrack seem so familiar. I know all the players ... not like today. Just nostalgia I suppose ... I miss those football times so much.

      Ask him if he wants to come back to Boro when this is all over and play outside left. That QPR side were spectacular at their best. Bowles could just wonder about for huge swathes of a game then pop up and steal the show, what a maverick. Gerry Francis was incredible in the hoops too

    (05:40) - quick start by Phil Parkes, then Dave Thomas at incredible speed runs at the Wolves defence before Bowles ticks it in. What a goal!

    • @markpaulo269
      @markpaulo269 2 года назад

      @@tomellis4324 He used to miss out on a lot of easy chances and his passing was not good often ruining our attacking play, this I believe from the 77/78 season onwards, not saying he deserved it but we were going through hard times the team was struggling ending with relegation the following season.

    Dave Clement and Mickey Leach 😔 both passed away far too young, approximately ten years apart. Dave in 1982 aged 34 due to suicide, poor man, and Mick in 1992 aged 44 due to cancer 😔🙏💙

    I remember seeing both Phil Parkes playing at Loftus Road one year. Remember that the second Phil Parkes started off at Walsall before joining QPR.
    But what a game for Mick Leach who I think was still getting booed at Rangers at this time. Imagine winning that penalty! I wish I could remember the game that Leach that played that turned it around for him at QPR when he became beloved by the crowd.

      Liverpool 1975. He came on as a sub and scored the second goal in a 2-0 win, the first time Rangers beat Liverpool. Leach kept Hollins out of the side with some brilliant performances. Sadly, he died quite young.

    John Delve the substitute. I remember he used to frequent The Target pub on the A40 Northolt. Of course it is no longer there but the roundabout where it sat is named after it.
