Awww... I lost my husband 5 years ago when he was just 50 years old. He so wanted to be a grandpa. At least he got to hold our first grandchild. Now we have 4... 3 boys and a girl. He would be so happy.💔 I know I must seem old for a viewer... but I've been playing The Sims since the very first one when I was barely 30 and other Maxis before that.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Life can be cruel and beautiful both. I'm glad he got to meet at least one of the grandchildren before his passing.

I'm 42 and I have a group on FB with other players who are all around my age to in their 60s. The games have been out for two decades so there are a lot of older Sims players.
@@fuzzypumpkin7743 Very cool! Yep I first started with Naxis games when a precursor developed Sim Earth. Years after it was discontinued and was kind of in the public domain I used it with my advanced environmental science students. It was a pretty difficult game. It's so old now it won't run on new PCs even with an emulator or at least I haven't been able to get it to work and I've never found a newer game quite as good.

I don’t think I’ve EVER been this excited for a pack. But I’ve only been playing for a few years.

And to be clear, I should say I’ve only been playing the Sims 4 for a few years. I’ve been playing the franchise for way longer. :)
The series starting with your sims making Pan De Muerto after a loss feels particularly fitting considering it's a treat made to honor the dead

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that DHD is short for Dream Home Decorator - I have mom brain, my youngest is 2 months old, and I'm chasing a 2 year old around too. I love my boys, but they scramble my brains most days.

When you were talking about how Grandma passing hit you in the feels - that really hit me in the feels! I lost my Granddad 5 years ago, and my Nana 2 years ago - they were both really keen gardeners and even had chickens.. I wasn't expecting this level of emotion!!
It hit me too... my Gramma just died last fall and the family farm isn't the same without her. She was in garden club and won ribbons with her flower arrangements... and made excellent pies from scratch. I am going to be bawling when I update my farm recreation with this pack.

@@lilliangladue9048 as a german almost all of them :D you will find more in former West germany, but if you just drive into random smaller villager there is a high chance it looks like that.

What this Lets Play has already taught me is that Sims really needs to add an option to do homeschooling. They've added freelancing, and basically putting in your own job, why not homeschooling?
That would be AMAZING!!
It may sound strange, but I wish it was possible to send your kids to boarding school, and that adults could have jobs that gave the opportunity to travel with work for any amount of time. Like an astronaut going on a space mission, for example. Then they could call home/send letters to their family.
because it’s already super Americanized and homeschooling is literally illegal in many countries, most definitely in all of the European countries. So for weird things like that we have mods. If I ever play families that lock up their kids and don’t allow them to go to school, that’s when I use that mod
@@melz6625 homeschooling is legal in much of Europe. Probably more than half. It’s less common and usually more restricted, but it’s legal.
@@breakfastatmilliways It’s absolutely unheard of. In Western Europe definitely and even the Soviet Union had great education so my guess is those former countries also still have great education. Homeschooling is deprivation of education which is a UN human right for children. It’s great to hide abuse and instill religious indoctrination. And even as a non-cult person. Who are you to think you as a parent can cosplay a teacher. That’s an important profession that needs years of university education and further training. I’m not going around demanding to operate on people just because I would like to be a doctor. It’s an insult to the profession and in most cases children have no way of integrating into higher education after having been deprived of education for years. Apparently in the US parents can just print fake diplomas that mean absolutely nothing. This sort of mess definitely needs no mainstream representation.

I understand what you mean, Deli. I lost my dad 1.5 years ago and seeing the storyline of Papa Gardner and his late wife makes me really sad but seeing that he kept her stuff etc. makes me feel better.
Especially because my dad loooved gardening.

I think the sims does that for people who have Cottage Living, but not Get Together
So cool Deli 😍 btw foxes are quite common in towns and other urban areas so it makes sense having the fox 🦊 challenge in the village 😊
My grandpa passed away in June due to covid complications and it has been the hardest thing to deal with. I haven't lost someone so close to me in my life and it really hurts but I know it gets better and that he will be watching over me. Watching deli and James play sims is an amazing distraction

I really adore that introduction to the series you created, that was lovely. Whenever you get really in depth and creative with your Let's Play's it never fails to amaze me, you can always tell how much you are really loving it and how creative you are. It just makes it even that much more fun to watch and I just want you to know how much I really appreciate all the thought, the planning, the creativity, and the hardwork you put into your Let's Play's and videos. They never cease to amaze me 😍😘❤

I'm soo very sorry about the loss of your own grandfather, words just can't express my empathy for you 😢💖 I lost my grandma in Febuary this year and I'm still finding it really difficult. I was actually studying 'Death, Grief and Culture' at Uni late last year trying to work through and understand my grief in a new way by working on an assignment on my grief over my father's death when I was 11. It was really hard and brought up so many difficult emotions for me that grandma was able to help make me smile and listen to. Then to have her die not long after just broke me. I still kepp in contact with my course convener from last year though and she has been a blessing ❤

Right after you said they'd probably move because the house is kind of small, the game "opened" to Papa standing next the chicken coop. That made me laugh far too much!

Oh man, teared up with this let's play. Just hearing the story about grandma passing and grandpa painting a sad picture and then him passing right after. This is why I play with aging turned off. I am too much of a softie.
This brings to me so many memories about my childhood! I used to spend summers with my grandparents, canning, fishing, gardening, swimming and eating fruits. I was so blessed to have them in my life. Thanks for this let's play, I already love it!

I did not think I would be excited for this because dream home decorator is just SO up my alley but after seeing these different “Lets Play” videos , I’m actually really really really excited. I think I’ll just have a family who lives in the country but also one of them is a home decorator so I can do both :-). Great video Del!

100% understand how you feel about Gran passing on. My grandma passed 2 years ago and ever since then I’ve felt character deaths in books, movies, games, etc so so much more. ♥️
Papa didn't die from old age. He died of a broken heart. It's painfully obvious after painting the wilted flower (which I see too).

My grandpa actually passed away April 1st, 2021. It was very sad as soon as you said that I felt sad but instantly connected. I miss him so much, I’m just happy he’s not in pain anymore. 🙂

I'm not exactly new to this channel, but I am at the same time.. I've been subbed for a while, but never really watched anything. lately I've been watching every video that comes out and I just love the feel you get from these sims videos. She really makes the stories come to life and plays the game as if it was her own life. The music, gameplay, characters, and the tone of her voice are so calming and make me feel so relaxed. I will catch myself just leaving these videos playing in the background while cleaning or cooking or playing sims myself, even if I've already watched them. I don't usually leave these types of comments on people's videos, but I just felt the need to let Deli know that her videos are appreciated. ❤️

Deli is such a good player, the way she created the whole story on the theme of cottage living is very relatable to me bc of my life in the countryside. I appreciate this type of gameplay very much because I believe you can actually enjoy way more the whole purpose of the expansion. Keep giving us this amazing content Deli, we love you !

It has wonderful cozy vibes with Deli's great storytelling. I really enjoy the edits you've chosen and the music in the intro is so sweet. I lost both my grandparents a few years ago and the grieving process has been a roller coaster but somehow watching these two characters live out their grandparents dreams while discovering their own feels like a nice bit of catharsis.
I am so excited to see how this unfolds! I understand exactly how you feel as well. I lost my grandmother a year ago, last month, and her 90th heavenly birthday is actually on the day Cottage Living comes out. My grandpa still has all of her belongings and actually found their high school love letters to each other the other day. I am already so attached to these characters and I am so happy to see they are carrying out their late grandparents' legacy. Love everything that you do Deli!!!!!!
