I haven't studied chess for a long time, and I barely play anymore. But every night, after a long day of work, it's such a pleasure to watch your videos. And I just wanted to thank you for that. 😊
What he said was not wrong. He said the knight was no longer defended and that is correct. It's not being defended by the queen, but it's also not under attack due to the pin, since there is no way to win that piece since its pinned then there's no "attack"
This is in the style of Nimzowitsch, with his "mysterious rook moves" and "rank n prophylaxis" which were meant to convince the opponent that he had missed something.
In all situations such as the Evans, you are the expert and, almost certainly, your opponent is not. Playing ten minutes that's a significant advantage. My friends Tim Harding (Ireland) and George Botterill (ex British Champion) wrote a monograph on the Evans some fifty years ago.
At 8:38 I really like bishop a3 because it threatens Night e5, then you’re controlling a lot of squares and can bring the a1 rook to attack on the e file
Always enjoy your videos Antonio- keep up the good work. Am I missing something? On approximately move 21, when you moved your queen from f3 to d2, wasn't the Bishop on f5 free? Why NOT take it with the knight that was on d4? I am not the best at Chess- but that bishop looks free to me.
@@thelo8058 Good point! Those pesky long range bishops! Maybe best would be preparing the Knight takes on f5 by connecting rooks and making some new threats at the same time with bishop to a3 first?
Well played Agad! Your obsession with B4 finally seems to pay dividends this time because Lena took the gambit and almost certainly she didn't know how to play it and losing a lot of time in the process like you mentioned ;)
Hi Antonio - you asked us to comment on any ways you can improve, and having watched every video so far from this series I do have one suggestion (even tho I’m a player about 200 points lower ranked than you). I just feel like you consistently underestimate the potential of the opponents minor pieces’ (like the white bishop in this video, or the knight few videos ago - there were other examples too). I guess it could be beneficial for you to double check on your assessment in similar situation where you can trade?
Your opponent could not get his offense going he was playing with one rook still in the garage as much as his Bishops seemed to be threatening your pieces he never captured anything he left it up to you to make the dynamic offensive moves pretty good especially at the end his game just came apart Thanks for the game enjoy your day hope to see more always look forward to it
