His 500th movie was Anjali (1990) and 600th movie was Thevarmagan (1992). 100 movies in 2 years, 50 movies per year, giving approx 250 songs per year along with the movie scores. Just mindboggling stats!
Do you know Raja produced same music scores for all his movies by just changing 8 notes? On that period there's nothing called BGM score, and it was not treated as important for scenes, they used to just copy paste same music for movies, he can just produce 4 different music and just multiply it to all, but current generation is not like that, BGM score is not that easy to produce like before, you need unique scores for each, so comparing that Anirudh is faster....

But in case of Raja sir, even If you take just the famous scores he composed in his first 15 years, its more than what how much Ani or any other composer has composed. If you dont know this or think this is not correct, please go and search famous scores/bgms of raja, everything is different from one another.. He might have copied and pasted for a few rare movies, you cant generalize that.
And if you want to talk about copying and pasting, you are not in a position to defend Ani in front of Raja and Rahman's scales. Cuz every single DnA song is in the same raga, with very few exceptions. Do you know almost 85-90% of Anirudh's songs are all set in the same raga, Natabhairavi? Even the kuthu songs are set in the same raga. But since the raga can be used on any level, and it attracts the audience by itself, we don't really undermine Ani..
Ilaiyaraja on an average did 40-50 movies a year for more than 15 years. During that time, the big star's movies release on the same date. So, one need to work on 3 or more star's movies at the same time. He just delivered it multiple times. Not only the quantity, those songs are still being celebrated even after 30/40 years. Ilaiyaraja is in another level which no other global composer can ever dream of.
Maestro Ilayaraja is the pride of tamil cinema. His creations are like OCEAN(7000+ songs). Started in 70's. He helped lot for the growth of Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, Vijaykanth etc. through music. Every actor and actress have song compilation. The songs he created were challenging to other music composers. His compositions are worth to hear in all generations.
I think mostly Anirudh might get his songs for the film from his songs bank which he has like a folder in his computer, but I don't think it's like a infinity folder, but it's upto him to use it.

Actors made more movies back in the days compared to now. Production methods have changed, acting methods have changed, music has changed. So comparing those two in this era is just stupid.
