Good phone! But I am sticking to my Xperia 1 IV for that stunning 4K HDR display. By the way the speakers of 1 IV upgrade a lot compared to 1 III, sounds really really rich.
Have to say I've the 1 mark 4 and since the last two updates I don't have any overheating problems now and can record video for any length of time with no problems.
I've actually had fewer overheating issues too when outside, however I think it's because the weather is a lot cooler now. mine won't overheat outside these days (NYC is cold this time of year), but still did indoors the last time I checked (a few weeks ago).
Wtff this phone is trash..type the name on google and you'll see reviews from all over the place from different sites.where people bought the phone and reviewed it
this is the closest thing to a perfect phone for me, that overheating is an objective issue, but not for my use, I can just imagine that Xperia 5 V will be insanely good for me 😁
It's not stock Android but it's pretty close and the additions they make are good ones. Unfortunately not the best in terms of long-term software support (likely just a few years), but they're pretty quick with releasing them.
@@PhoneBattles I just don't get why it's near 2023 and we can't have an Android that's as fast & smooth as an iphone. With basic features like a 3.5 jack, a physical FP scanner, and Pixel level photos. I've only played around with the Pixel 7P, so I don't really have real experience with one, but is it really iphone smooth like people say? Why is it when I try an iphone I'm always left thinking "why can't Android be this smooth?" I'm getting tired of Pixel and starting to look at other options but it still doesn't seem like there's anything out there that has it all.
This phone would be perfect for me if it weren't for the overheating issue on the camera. I mean, an AUX port is so rare nowadays. PS. I film car content with my phone
I'm not a T-Mobile user, but I've read that Band 71 is supported by the USA model (not the international). Not 100% sure though, I'm seeing conflicting things online.
@@pixels_per_inch What? No! Others have better thermal systems in their phones that's why they don't overheat. Sony is not going to deliberately stop their users from using their cameras. Does that mean they knew that the chipset is at fault but still decided to go with the older chipset instead of giving us the newer 8gen1+? There's a reason why they never talk about the thermal of their smartphones at their launch event because they hardly improve it.
@@usmantariq7997 No, it means Sony's displaying a warning and turning off the camera to prevent you from burning your fingers. They could disable this behaviour anytime since it's a software limitation. In fact, if you connect the Bluetooth handle, the temperature limit will be raised.
@@pixels_per_inch You're just repeating yourself. Where were these limitations in their previous smartphones? Why didn't they upgrade the chipset if it had problems? Why don't they talk about the thermal improvements in their smartphones anywhere either at their launch events or on their websites just like Samsung does?
I think it's a combination of both Sonys getting warmer and also a somewhat low threshold. they definitely do heat up more than other recent phones I've used, though not to the point where they hurt my fingers. regardless it's still a fundamental problem with the hardware itself unfortunately. there are probably hardware related reasons why it can't get too warm so the threshold is necessary. that said, it's rumored the next Xperias will address the heating issue.
How many year does these phone last ? For example apple has atleast 4 year software update and durability. What about Sony software update ? And security patch’s
did you really suggest using water to cool your phone??? Chalk this one up to just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Seriously, don't do that. One day you'll likely regret that!

Great compact beauty from SONY.

100% best compact phone… thanks for video

Why can't Google make a Pixel like this? How is Sony on updates and do they run stock Android?

Above average in speed but only 2 os upgrades then done.

1st Comment 😇
Same thinking as @Usman Tariq. I actually like Sony Phones, but the Thermal Issue is what I don't like
Dont exist where people read user manuals
How are the speakers compared with 1 iv?

Did you do a battle between this device and Sony Xperia 5 III?
No my 5 III was a review unit so I no longer have it unfortunately
Hey How about a speed test of this beast with The iPhone 14 pro?
How is that compact?? I miss xz1 c
Sadly it doesn't have band 71.
Band 71 is what they use for T-Mobile!

@@PhoneBattles Xperia 1 IV does. The 5 IV don't. I checked their online Sony store.
I will never understand why Sony cannot improve its thermals. There are other smartphones using the same chipset but don't overheat that much.
Sony just sets a low limit, other phones will let the chipset burn your fingers and throttle the refresh rate all without a single warning or message.
