This was devastating news to wake up to yesterday. Unfortunately not many people are talking about it, so thank you for giving the man his dues. Let's honor him by playing that suikoden 1-2 remake collection and of course eiyuuden chronicle. Can't believe I will have the honor to be in the same credits roll as Murayama sensei.

@gamebreak6395 Happy to hear that. You're in there with me, right? We can both be part of history when Eiyuuden gets universally praised as a legendary game, and we can be a part of that! That goes to all my fellow backers who paid for that privilege as well.

My brother GameBreak, I absoultely loved this tribute to the master Murayama.
Murayama..Thank you for everything..May you rest in peace! Your legacy will continue to shine through and touch so many hearts! Suikoden was apart of my childhood and upbringing and Eiyuden Chronicle will continue to do the same and inspire so many. I owe so much of my channel to Suikoden and Eiyuden. Thank you for your coverage of this game, continue to be great! Lets stick together!
Rest easy, may we see you in the stars of Destiny Murayama..

@@gamebreak6395 I concur! Although, to be fair, I would've LOVED for Murayama to at least get to also create the 2nd one. As we know, Suikoden 1 was intentionally made as a "less than" version of Suikoden 2 since the team wasn't yet ready for it. And even though they raised a ton of money for Eiyuden, a part of me wonders if they also left things out of this one and were planning for Eiyuden 2 to be "the big one" once they made a ton of money from sales. 4 and a half million or whatever they made is nothing to sneeze at, but they could've possibly had ideas for a 10 mill or 20 mill budget game- More in depth war battles, deeper town building mode, who knows. Either way, Suikoden 5 being as amazing as it is gives me great hope that the Suikoden framwork is so great that other talented writers and developers can come in and make great JRPG's with Murayama's framework.

Kind of weird how his death made me feel. A lot of 'celebrities' and such die and I feel nothing even if I knew their works - I don't know them personally. Murayama hit differently. I still think of Suikoden all the time and listen to the music and eagerly awaited the remaster of Suikoden 1 & 2 as well as Eiyuden. I think the humanity and emotion of his work stuck with me and may have shaped my life more than I know it. God bless him and may we still enjoy his works for years to come.

I was so upset reading that kickstarter update...Really Truly, I Love Murayama's work more than any other--it has impacted my life more than I care to admit... I'm so sad that this happened to him, so close to his dream's release... It's hard to put into words, how much this amazing man will be missed by me, and countless others... Murayama, I never got to meet you---I wish I had... My heart goes out to his family and all Stars of Destiny out there---(us) You will be Sorely Missed--but Never Forgotten...Thank you for helping myself and so many others with your amazing rollercoaster of emotions driven game, that touched my heart and soul, and helped me through some really bad times in my life...They mean so much to me---YOU, mean so much to me... If I could give you 20 years of my life, and bring you back, I would...
    RIP Murayama.

I believe he felt the sense of urgency to share his final work with us before he closed his eyes. Perhaps telling his nearest and dearest like Kawano san " this is it" from the outset. Every aspect of the campaign singing on the chorus, voting on characters and dlc, our name in the credits, I take them as his way of saying we've been apart of his journey as he's been apart of ours.
I'm glad the kickstarter was so successful, an outpouring of passion and support. To share in the vision of one of the world's greatest writers, a transcendent honor🤝

I really hope his death isn't work related. I know they said ongoing illness, but I got a strong feeling through a lot of the kickstarter updates they were doing some crazy crunching. At his age and size, he probably couldn't do what he did in the late 90's. I really doubt they would say he worked himself to death if that's indeed what happened. Someone on Resetera said the Japanese press were reporting it was multiple organ failures, which COULD indicate it was relating to over stress/overworking himself past his limit.
Regardless, this is very very tragic. I greatly respect him and the team. They are true artists.
